Plan
POV: Marcos Valentini
12 hours earlier:
Matteo informed me that Elena wanted to speak with me alone, so I ordered everyone to stay outside when I entered the room.
I assessed my granddaughter, who, thankfully, is well.
"Matteo said you wanted to speak with me," I said, pulling up a chair to sit facing her.
"Do you remember the first agreement we made?" Elena asked, looking at her own hands.
"Yes, I remember," I replied professionally.
"I want to leave," she said, and I saw tears in her eyes. "I want to leave and never see any of you again."
"Look at me and say it, look into my eyes," I ordered, and she looked up.
"I want to leave," she confirmed, tears streaming down her face. "We have an agreement, and I want you to keep it."
"Is this really what you want?" I asked, even though I knew she didn't want to go.
"Yes," she says with a painful sob, and I hug her.
"I'll make sure you have a good life," I say, accepting her decision as I promised.
She cries for a few seconds, and then I feel her body tense.
"There are microphones in the room," she whispers in my ear and hugs me tightly. "The Sinclairs are threatening Lorenzo, and I have a plan, but I need your help, nonno."
She speaks, and I feel a mixture of emotions, from pride to anger, with equal intensity.
"I'll pretend I'm on the phone, and we can talk by text," I say, pulling away from her.
I take my cell phone and pretend to call one of my suppliers.
Elena starts typing what she has in mind; she plans to turn herself in and advance our attack against the Sinclairs.
We were having trouble finding the Sinclair house, but Christopher's offer is all we need, and Elena only needs to wear a tracker, leaving the rest to us.
If everyone is together in the same house, it will be easier to take down the entire American mafia at once.
We organize the plans and will simulate Elena's disappearance forever. Before confirming everything, I ask her if this is really what she wants to do.
She confirms and says she also wants to do everything she can to protect her family because she loves us.
I explain to her the dangers and mistakes that could happen, but she is inflexible and stubborn.
"It's all settled, a car will come to pick you up tomorrow to take you to the airport," I say, feigning sadness in my voice. "You're being brave, Elena."
"Thank you for everything, nonno," Elena says sincerely, and I squeeze her hand affectionately.
"Everything will be alright, trust us and tomorrow everything will be resolved," I say and kiss her forehead.
Present:
Everyone is furious about the plan I let Elena execute.
I gave them the letter she wrote to each of them and the reasons why she's doing what she's doing. Somehow, she managed to keep the necklace, and we're tracking her in real time.
We see her move quickly along a road, and when she enters a private area near the coast, we know that's where the Sinclairs are hiding.
Dante and Matteo organize the soldiers and call the Russians, who also provided men for the operation.
Sandro and Leonardo contact the French to confirm the weaponry they offered.
The others begin to prepare, and I send a message to Romana, who is at the hospital with Lorenzo and the other women.
I tell her that we are leaving and that we will soon return home with our princess.
POV: Luca
When Elena fainted in my arms because of her head injury and Matteo said that maybe my wish would come true, I felt terrible.
I unleashed my anger on my own sister, the one I swore to protect, and yet I hurt her and she almost died.
When she woke up and said she just wanted to see Grandpa, we were all curious, and then furious when Grandpa told us what the two of them were doing.
Unfortunately, it was too late to stop it.
She left me a letter that made me cry like a one-year-old; she said she loved me and was happy to have a brother like me.
Grandma Romana hit Grandpa and threatened to end his life if anything happened to Elena. And we all agreed with her.
We were all getting ready to leave when Leonardo's phone rang and we heard him cursing angrily.
We approached him and saw a video Christopher Sinclair had recorded.
He announces that he is a man of his word and turns the camera to Elena, who is lying on the floor, clutching her stomach, blood dripping from her mouth.
I stopped paying attention to what he was saying and focused only on my sister's face, contorted in pain.
I'm going to kill that bastard.
POV: Dominic
Leonardo told me that Elena woke up, but didn't want to see anyone.
I understand her decision even more after what I found out Luca told her.
That bastard dared to hurt my angel; if it weren't for his brother, he would already be dead.
I'm finishing last month's report when Dante calls me and explains what Elena and Marcos Valentini did.
I quickly prepare my men and order them to go to the Valentini warehouse.
I'm leaving home to meet them when I receive a video message. I see Christopher Sinclair bragging, and then he shows me a picture of my wounded angel.
I let out a roar of pure hatred and swore that that son of a bitch wouldn't see the sun rise again.
I get into my car and drive to meet the Valentini family, who are already ready to leave when I arrive.
“Dominic is on the search team,” Salvatore informs me, and I confirm.
Matteo, Dante, Nicco, and Vicente are with me on the team.
We get into the same car and waste no time following Elena's tracker, which is stopped at a residence near the coast.
The drive there takes about five hours, and that only makes me more anxious.
“Our men will take care of the guards, while Sandro, along with Leonardo and Bruno, will eliminate the others with rifles from a distance,” Dante explains.
“Giorgio, Giovanni, Antoni, and Luca will give us cover while we search inside Sorella's house,” Nicco says. “If possible, arrest the Sinclairs,” Vicente asks, and I smile in response. “They might be a little injured, but try to keep them alive,” Matteo says.
“I’ll do my best,” I reply coldly.
“Our main focus is Elena, leave the Sinclairs with our parents,” Dante says, and I nod. “But if you find them first, you know what to do.”
I put on my gaiters and adjust my weapon.
I get out of the car, and my only goal is to rescue my angel and kill that son of a bitch with my own hands.
