Chapter 34- In His Arms

Third Person's POV

Everyone was watching what's happening inside the Arena. Hunter focused his eyes on the screen where Althea was shown walking slowly because of the wounds she sustained.

He admired the girl because of the determination to find her teammate was obvious in her eyes. He witnessed what Althea went through so he could say she was strong and brave.

But he stood up when he saw the girl fall to the ground and it was difficult for her to stand. "Shit! What's going on?!" he shouted. Everyone looked at him, but he did not care. He frowned as he watched Althea barely standing up.

"Hunter, calm down. Althea won't hear you either. So, sit down." Rica grabbed his arm and forced him to sit down but he just turned it down because he was really worried about Althea.

"I'm just going out. I need some fresh air." He did not wait for Rica's answer and he immediately walked away from the Media Theater, but he stopped walking when someone stopped him. It was Isaiah. Isaac's older brother.

"Hey, man!" He was about to hug him, but Hunter stepped away and shook his hand.

"What do you want?" Hunter's voice was full of irritation. Since what happened then, he has not said a word. He is to blame for the loss of his good relationship with Isaac.

Yes, he used to like Rhian Serina. But he gave up because he knew Rhian is in love with Isaac, too. But Isaiah slandered Hunter to his younger brother.

"Tsk. Is that how you greet me now? Oh, come on, man! I didn't mean to--"

"To ruin my friendship with your brother. You know what? Fuck you! Get out of here. I'm not in the mood to talk to a jerk like you." He passed Isaiah but it grabbed his arm and pulled him back.

"You're trying to steal my younger brother to me. I'm the older brother but he treats you even more like a brother than me!" He admitted, making Hunter even angrier. He frowned and withdrew his hand again.

"Do you hear what you are saying?! Isaac lost me and he lost you, too. Because of what you did, we both lost him. And you still expect him to treat you as an older brother?" He laughed then stared at Isaiah. "Your brother is not a fool. Do not include him for your selfishness."

"Fine, I'm sorry--" Isaiah didn't finish what he was about to say when they heard a shout from inside the Media Theater, so they ran and watched what was happening. Hunter winced when he saw Althea's being attacked by a monster. The girl did not have the strength, but she was still able to stand and hide behind a tree.

"You can do this, Althea," Hunter whispered to himself. He knows her. She'll do anything to find Isaac and the others.

------------

Althea's POV

I leaned against the tree when my shoulders and legs ached again. I could still hear the growl of the monster slowly approaching where I was.

Tears welled up in my eyes again. I immediately wiped it; I do not want to be weak in this kind of situation. I peeked at the monster. He was only a few trees away and he could smell where I was. So, I immediately thought of a plan.

My eyes flickered as the fire came out of my hand, I ran towards the monster and threw the fire at him. I was bleeding profusely from the severe pain in my back. I was about to stand up when the monster grabbed my foot and pulled me.

My back was dragged to the ground, so I screamed in pain and pulled out ice on my hand. It formed into a dagger and I stabbed his arm to release me.

I took out the ice again and formed a long sword then stabbed it in the stomach of the monster which immediately plunged to the ground and died. My knees are weakening so I have slipped on the ground with my back shaking in pain. I feel, at any moment my body will shut down.

Before I could get up, I heard muttering, there was a monster again. I tightened my grip on the end of my dress. It was as if I was getting strength there.

Using my strength, I approached a tree and hid there. In this kind of state, I will not be able to fight if the monster attacks me and I may end up dying. Especially when I heard the monster scream loudly and it pulled out the tree, I was leaning on, so I slid to the ground.

I was losing the strength to open my eyes or even raise my hand to light a fire. "I-Isaac..." I do not know why I uttered his name. As far as I know, I want to see him. I want to see if he's okay even if I'm not.

"Isaac..." The monster was about to touch me when it stopped, and blood came out of his mouth. My vision became blurry, but I saw the monster fall to the ground. Someone came. Someone saved me.

"Althea!" When I heard that voice, I burst into tears. He came. My system is shouting for his name. I felt his warm hands on mine, so I opened my eyes and I saw a lot of blood dripping from his head. He was bleeding and he had received many wounds. But he chose to save me.

"Isaac... I want to rest," I muttered but enough for me to hear. I felt my body being lifted to the ground; he's carrying me even though he is already struggling because of the wounds he sustained.

"Then rest, in my arms. I'm here now, Althea," he said so I cried even more. He came and saved me despite everything he'd been through because of me. I completely lost consciousness in his warm arms.

Even how many times he hurt me; I'll always truly love him. Isaac, I will always find my way back to you.
