The sound of rushing water jolted Susan Wilson awake. She blinked her sleepy eyes open and was shocked by the scene around her.
She was in a fancy hotel room, with morning sunlight streaming over the messy sheets. Clothes and underwear, both hers and a man's, were scattered across the carpet.
The air was thick with the scent of last night's passion.
Looking down at her naked body under the covers and feeling sore, Susan grabbed her long hair in frustration. Flashes of last night played in her mind like a broken movie reel.
Her boyfriend of three years had dumped her, saying she wasn't gentle, considerate, or feminine enough, and had left to study for a PhD abroad with some rich girl.
Externally tough but internally fragile, Susan had gotten drunk and impulsively picked up a guy at the bar to spend the night with.
Now, sitting on the bed with shaky legs, Susan, who always valued her self-respect and dignity, couldn't believe she had done something so out of character.
Women should not get drunk in front of unfamiliar men!
She hurriedly dressed, grabbed her bag, and was about to sneak out when the bathroom door suddenly swung open with a bang.
Instinctively, Susan turned around and saw a ridiculously handsome guy walking out.
He had thick hair, a chiseled face, and a muscular build. His loose robe revealed glimpses of his sexy, strong chest.
This guy was perfect, way better than her heartless ex.
Susan felt a moment of satisfaction. She'd rather have given her first time to this stranger than to her ex.
Thinking about last night, Susan's face grew hot.
Last night, he had been alternately gentle and rough, and at twenty-five, she had finally experienced the pleasures of sex.
Standing in front of him now, Susan felt ashamed but tried to stay calm.
In contrast, Seb Anderson was totally at ease. His deep eyes scanned her from head to toe, and he smirked with disdain, making Susan very uncomfortable.
Then Seb suddenly walked to the bedside and reached for his wallet.
Susan saw a thick wad of cash in his wallet and was immediately jolted awake.
'Did he think I was a prostitute and wanted to pay me for last night? No way, I couldn't let him insult me like this!' Susan thought.
She quickly took out her only $150 from her bag and threw it on the crumpled sheets before Seb could react.
Seb raised an eyebrow and stared at her in confusion.
Susan crossed her arms and looked up at him, saying in a critical tone, "Even though you are handsome, your skills in bed are lacking. Here is your one-night stand fee!"
Susan was actually lying; Seb's sexual skills were excellent. He made Susan climax multiple times that night. However, Seb treated her like a prostitute, which angered Susan. That's why she said what she did intentionally.
"What did you say?" Clearly, Susan's words had angered Seb.
She saw Seb's brows furrow and his face darken.
Susan stepped forward and patted Seb's shoulder, saying in a sincere tone, "I suggest you learn more about sexual skills. Once your skills improve, your price will naturally go up. Women these days aren't easy to please!"
"You're dead meat！" Seb's brows furrowed, and he uttered the words through gritted teeth.
Seeing Seb's fists clench, Susan didn't want to get hit. Before Seb could lose his temper, she chose to quickly flee the scene.
As she walked out of the Hilton Hotel, Susan's mind was still filled with the image of Seb's grim face. She touched her wildly beating heart, grateful that she had run fast enough.
