I'd get her back

I'd get her back
Ethan's POV

As I watched Rachel leave with her parents, I felt a piece of my entire being leave with her.

Was I making the right decision to let her leave? Maybe I should have fought her parents about their decision so she would stay. But what if things went sideways with Olivia and then the latter comes after her?

"Ethan," Hannah called me bringing me out of my thoughts. " What's going on? I thought we already knew where Olivia was. Why can't we just go there and demand my son back?" My sister asked with tears in her eyes.

How was I going to say this?

"I don't know where Olivia is. "

Marina's eyes almost bulged out of her sockets. " You don't know what now?" She screamed. Hannah also had a look of surprise on her face.

" Brother..."

I ran my tongue over my patched lips. " I don't know where Olivia is right now, but..." I added before Mark would say something which he clearly looked like he wanted to.

" ... I know where she will be in the next few hours".

Hannah's brows furrowed even more. " What do you mean?"

I sighed again as I began to recap what transpired between me and the bitch in the room.

Rachel was right; the maid thought she was doing everything she was doing because she thought Rachel had cast a spell on me or something.

To them, Olivia was the perfect candidate to be with me, and not with, according to her, ' an entitled-looking lady with a bad attitude. '

How good an attitude does she think Olivia has? I had sneered inwardly as soon as I heard it. Olivia was by far the biggest bitch I had ever seen, and that counted because I didn't interact with many ladies in my life.

The woman was not only a liar but a sly snake as well. How did they think she got the spot as the best actress in the country?

She didn't earn that spot, she bought her way to it. After she got there, she began getting a lot of work contracts, and that was when she actually began to practice how to act.

I knew all this stuff because Hannah told me.

The maid, after much convincing, said that I only wanted to talk to Olivia, which, by the way, was one of the hardest things I had to do today; the only thing topping that was to let Rachel go. I wanted so badly to strangle her for what she did to Rachel, but I had no choice but to pretend to be fine and not about it.

" The maid told me the place where she and Olivia were to meet later today, and that's where we'll intercept her. "

Mark gave me a look and I nodded at him.

But Hannah was yet to be convinced. She only got even more anxious and paranoid. " How do I know Jake is still alive? We've seen what Olivia can do, what if she killed him already? What if... "

" He's still alive. The maid confirmed that to me. ". I interrupted her before she gave herself a hypertensive breakdown.

" All we have to do is be smarter than her. " I said calmly. " Mark, get that detective on the line, I want us to deal with her according to the law. " I said to Mark who nodded and then excused himself to make the call.

Marina waited for a few seconds before following him, leaving only my sister with me.

Hannah still had a skeptical look on her face, but at least her anxiousness had reduced. " Are you sure about this?" She asked softly.

My lips pulled up in a small smile and I nodded slowly. " I am. I promise we will get your son back; I can't say unharmed, but definitely in one piece. "

Hannah smiled blinking back her tears as she let out a sigh of relief. "I'm sorry about everything. Maybe if I had told you sooner, maybe if..."

" It's alright. " I hushed her, gently holding her shoulders with my hands. " I agree you fucked up big time for not telling me the truth about what really happened, but I can't blame you now, can I? We just have to make things right from now on. "

Hannah smiled again before putting her arms around my waist in a small hug which only lasted for a few seconds before she abruptly pulled away. " What about Rachel? "

"What about Rachel? " I repeated with confusion.

Where was she driving? I wondered.

"Are you really just going to let her go like that? What if her parents refuse to let her go back to you? What would you do then?"

My brows shot up.

Was she... Was she concerned about Rachel and me?

One minute she was dragging Rachel to the ground, blaming me for liking someone like her, the second... she was actually rooting for us?
" I don't understand. " I shook my head, my confusion etched on my face. " I thought you didn't like Rachel? I mean, you hate her. "

Hannah rolled her eyes. " I don't hate her..." I blinked at her and she rolled her eyes again with a small smile. " Maybe dislike but I don't hate her. "

" I know you love her, and although I don't particularly like her, I want the best for you, and I want you to be happy, too. That's why I don't understand why the hell you'll just let her go like that. What if she doesn't return?"

I shook my head. " I can risk her safety for anything. " I replied as I began to walk back to my study.

" So? All the more reason you shouldn't have let her go. You could protect her here. " She argued following me.

I stopped in my steps. " No, I can't. "

" What?"

I sighed as I repeated. " I can't. I can't protect Rachel here. You saw how your very own son was snatched up from under my roof; how am I sure that there aren't others like the maid who is loyal to Olivia, who hasn't even been here before?"

I felt guilty. Incredibly guilty because part of this was my fault.

"A few weeks ago, Victoria called me out and told me about what she noticed about the attitude of some of the maids here. She told me to do something about them, but I didn't. "

"It wasn't because I didn't want to look into it, but that was around the time Rachel got arrested, and my mind was too filled up with getting Rachel out; I... I didn't really listen to her and now I'm regretting it."

I'm just grateful for the fact that she wasn't around right now. If not, even though she didn't say it, she would have had this 'I told you so' look on her face.

"Rachel isn't safe here." I shook my head as I said calmly. "Not until I've found each and every one of Olivia's spies and gotten rid of them. That's the reason I agree to her leaving."

I said before walking away and into my study.

Yes, I felt guilty for everything happening right now, but that wasn't the main reason I agreed with her parents' decision; it was because I knew I couldn't protect her here.

Olivia spies could be everywhere and once they find out that we know where she would be, they would immediately report to Olivia... And sincerely, that was what I hoped for.

I smirked taking a seat on my chair and swiveling it around.

Unlike what I told Marina, Mark, Rachel, and Hannah almost half an hour ago, the truth was that I couldn't do it.

Talking nicely to the maid? Oh please, I would never do that, not after she almost killed Rachel.

I beat the shit out of her until she almost died, and that was when I left; by now, she would probably be dead.

I had another plan in mind to go catch that sneaky bitch, I was going to lure her out of her hiding place and then catch her.

Though I meant most of what I said to Hannah, I said them all for a reason, and that was because I noticed a shadow by the door listening.

"Olivia, Olivia... Two can play your game bitch."

Just a few hours, that was all I needed to catch that psycho, just a few hours.
