Chapter 7
Sicily, that white vacation villa.
Sim hadn't slept all night at this point, his hair a complete mess.
But he had no time to worry about his appearance right now. Matt had been missing for a whole day and night, and he was going crazy with worry.
If he couldn't find Matt soon, he'd probably be meeting his maker before long.
"Still no leads?" Sim looked at his assistant.
The assistant scrolled his mouse, staring at the computer screen.
Not just the surveillance cameras at nearby intersections, but even the convenience stores and ATMs in the area - Sim had checked them all.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Sim..." The assistant sighed and shook his head.
"We can't even pick up his phone signal."
Hearing the assistant's report, Sim was on the verge of a breakdown.
"Wait... Mr. Sim!"
The assistant seemed to have spotted something.
He moved the mouse to screen 3, enlarging a blurry image.
A petite blonde woman was helping a disheveled Matt into a car.
"Found him!" The assistant looked excitedly at Sim.
Sim rushed to the computer, scrolling the mouse to enlarge the picture.
The woman had blonde hair, a round face, and a petite figure - she didn't look like some assassin sent by their enemies.
As for Matt, he had his arm around the woman's waist...
And on his usually cold face, there was actually a rare hint of a smile.
"Mr. Sim..."
"Mr. Matt doesn't look like he's been kidnapped, but rather..."
The assistant didn't finish, but Sim already understood what he meant.
"Mr. Sim, what should we do now?" The assistant looked at Sim with a conflicted expression.
"Bring Mr. Loren back, of course." Sim gave the order without a moment's hesitation.
Mr. Matt Loren, the actual person in power of the Loren Family.
If their rivals found out that Mr. Matt was out there alone right now, that wouldn't be good at all.
Inside the rental unit converted from an abandoned train car, Matt slowly opened his eyes.
Soft, long hair was scattered messily across Matt's chest like seaweed...
The air was filled with a faint scent of alcohol.
A sore ache came from his waist. Matt was about to turn over and adjust his position...
That's when he felt the soft woman lying on top of him.
Susie, at this moment, was like a well-behaved little cat, curled up against Matt's chest, with one small leg draped over Matt's thigh.
Matt looked down to see Susie's small mouth slightly open, a pale pink color that looked like it might taste sweet, like strawberries.
Gently moving the leg off his body, Susie let out a soft hum, seemingly displeased with Matt's sudden movement.
Seeing this, Matt gently patted Susie's back.
It wasn't like Matt had never had one-night stands before.
But in Matt's memory, he'd never been this patient with any woman he'd just met.
He smoothed out Susie's messy, long hair, letting her breathe evenly in his arms.
A ray of light from outside the window fell right on Susie's face.
Bothered by the sunlight, Susie frowned and rubbed her eyes.
Her arm accidentally touched something incredibly firm and solid, making her frown slightly.
Opening her eyes, what she saw was a grayish-brown tattoo.
Susie's body stiffened for a moment, then gradually came awake. She sat up abruptly, looking at Matt in front of her with panicked eyes.
"You're awake?"
Compared to Susie's panic and confusion, Matt's expression was quite calm.
"Did we..."
Although she already knew the answer, Susie couldn't help asking.
"Isn't it obvious?"
Matt's eyes casually swept over Susie's body.
Susie realized she wasn't wearing anything and quickly grabbed a blanket to cover herself.
Ignoring Susie's shyness, Matt pulled her directly into his arms.
"Let me go!" Susie tensed up nervously.
"A few hours ago, weren't you a sexy little wildcat?"
Matt picked her up by the waist.
Her feet suddenly leaving the ground, Susie instinctively wrapped her arms around Matt's neck.
"Where are you taking me?" Susie stared nervously at Matt's chiseled profile.
"To take a shower!" Matt lowered his head, gently taking Susie's ear in his mouth.
The intimate moment had barely lasted a few seconds when the door of the rental unit was pounded heavily.
The old train car shook and rattled.
Susie nervously tightened her grip around Matt's neck.
Before she could say anything, the door was kicked open hard.
Then Sim burst in with several men.
"Ah!" Susie screamed, clutching Matt's neck tightly.
"Boss, are you okay!"
Staring at the scene before them, the air became awkward for a moment.
Susie clutched the thin blanket at her chest tightly, afraid it would slip down.
As for Matt, he only had a simple towel wrapped around his waist.
"What do you think?" Matt looked coldly at Sim.
"Sorry, boss, I thought you'd been kidnapped by this woman!"
As he spoke, Sim's gaze swept over Matt like a searchlight, then stopped at Matt's wrist.
There seemed to be marks from being tied up.
"Boss, your wrist... did she do that?"
Finally, Sim stared fiercely at Susie.
"Just a misunderstanding, not a kidnapping," Matt said slowly, seemingly forgetting to put Susie down.
"Can you put me down first?" Susie said quietly to Matt.
Matt turned slightly, placing Susie, wrapped only in a blanket, into the small bathroom.
Then he handed Susie some clothes.
"So, boss, she..." Sim frowned, looking toward the bathroom.
"She's my fiancée."
Suddenly, everything went quiet.
At this moment, Susie had already changed and come out of the bathroom.
She saw that the fierce-looking men who had just burst in were now staring hard at her.
She unconsciously took a step back, keeping a safe distance from these intimidating men.
"What are you all standing around for? Why are you still here?"
Susie noticed that Matt seemed like a different person now, completely unlike the playful way he'd been teasing her earlier.
"Wait, before you leave, fix that door."
"Got it, boss."
Sim left with his men.
In the room, only Susie and Matt remained.
"We just met. How did I become your fiancée?" Susie frowned at Matt, looking completely dissatisfied.
Was there anything more ridiculous in this world?
She'd brought a man home on Halloween...
Because of this man, her home had been destroyed, and she'd even become this man's fiancée.
"Don't you like me too?"
Matt sat down next to Susie and said, "So what's wrong with being with me long-term?"
