Chapter 532 You're Only Clingy with Me

"I've been busy with video conferences for the whole day. I promise this won't happen anymore," Declan said.

"Why are you explaining to me? Am I that clingy?" Freya smiled and raised her head.

"Oh? Are you not?" asked Declan while he ran his fingers over her skin.

Freya was extremely ticklish.

Tears were rolling down her cheeks as she laughed. "Yes, yes! I'm clingy!"

However, Declan did not stop there. He said, "No."

"Hahahaha... No? What no?"

In the end, Freya had been tickled so much even her limbs turned weak. She leaned on Declan and tried to pinch his muscles, but they were too firm. There was nothing to pinch.

Angered, she raised her head and bit his Adam's apple.

It was then Declan finally stopped attacking her with his fingers. Chuckling, he rolled his Adam's apple against Freya's lips.

It was another sort of teasing.

Freya could clearly feel the movement of his Adam's apple against her lips. She blushed and released her grip. "You're so cheeky!"

At the same time, Declan whispered in her ears, "You're only clingy with me."

He lifted Freya's chin. "Come, say it again."

Facing his dark eyes, Freya's throat was turning dry from his skillful flirtation.

"Do you think I'll say it simply because you asked me to? I won't say it." Freya was unyielding. "Nope! Not saying it. Not... Ahh--"

Declan had no alternative but to use his actions to lecture his disobedient wife.

He lifted her with his arms effortlessly and carried her to the bed.

Using one hand to unbutton her clothes, he reached out the other to switch the lights off.

In the pitch-black room, the shadows of their figures moved intimately on the bed.

Occasionally, some voices could be heard.

For example, "Yes, I'm clingy. I'm clingy with Declan!"

"It's my fault. Please, let me go."

"Be careful of the baby!"

The next day, Freya and Layla sat side by side on the plane. Layla asked in a low voice, "What's the matter? Did you argue with Mr. Castle?"

Freya crossed her arms in front of her chest and rolled her eyes. "Don't mention that man."

"Wow, even the role model couple would argue too?" Layla laughed.

Freya noticed that Layla's laughter was much more natural, resembling the blooming of a flower.

She was glad for Layla.

"Come, let's talk about it. It's gonna be so boring along the way. Let me give you some advice," Layla suggested.

"It's nothing. We're fine. What I deem as a fight is merely flirtation in the eyes of others."

As a matter of fact, there was indeed no argument. It was her who was acting up one-sidedly.

Layla nudged Freya's arm and asked, "So extreme?" Freya stuck out her tongue and laughed happily.

Layla was enjoying their newfound relationship. In the past, Freya treated her like she was Layla's protector. Although Freya cared for her, there were hardly any moments for jokes and laughter.

...

As such, Layla finally felt at ease and allowed her body to relax.

Then, she began to change her once distant demeanor and opened up. She moved closer to Freya and whispered, "I suppose you two shared a passionate night last night, huh? I can't think of any flirtation that can make you get cranky with Mr. Castle."

Layla's sudden remark made Freya choke on the water she was drinking. Luckily, she managed to swallow it without spitting it out.

She pressed a hand on her chest and continued coughing for a while.

"Layla... Y-you..." Freya's eyes flickered, her eyelashes fluttering as she blinked.

"So it seems," Layla said decisively.

Freya thought.

At that moment, Freya genuinely believed that erasing Layla's painful memories through hypnosis was the right choice.

Nonetheless, she was still slightly skeptical as to whether the hypnosis actually worked.

Her intuition told her that those memories were still safely stored in Layla's mind, but she didn't find it necessary to question it.

"Let's eat." Freya grabbed a handful of pistachio nuts and passed them to Layla, discreetly dismissing the topic about Declan.

Layla held out her hand as Freya beamed at her.

Flying at a high altitude, the plane was surrounded by cumulus clouds that resembled fluffy cotton candies.

Hope leaned against the window and was taking photos ceaselessly. Then, she would show them to Aaron and Nessie, seemingly unable to quiet down.

All the chattering in the cabin created a cozy atmosphere inside the plane.

Meanwhile, Declan was sitting in a corner, focusing on his work. From time to time, he would raise his head to check on Freya.

Seeing Freya enjoying herself with a friend was like therapy to Declan that helped wipe away his exhaustion.

About ten hours later, the plane began to descend.

They landed at the Stones' new residence to drop off Layla's group before taking off again.

Not long after, the plane landed safely on the field in Southcastle Manor.

"We're home!" Hope rushed out of the plane excitedly.

The grass had grown long over the past month while they were away. With the garden booming and the birds chirping, spring never felt better.

Hope lifted the hem of her skirt and spun around happily.

Following Hope, Freya and Aaron alighted from the plane.

Seeing Hope's exaggerated reaction, Aaron mocked, "She's gone mad."

Despite sounding arrogant, deep down, Aaron cared a great deal about her.

Freya just shook her head as she watched on.

Then, Freya lowered her gaze and caressed her pregnant belly.

She didn't expect herself to anticipate the baby's arrival so much, hoping that they'll be an obedient and sensible child, unlike their siblings.

The mere thought of it made Freya crack a smile.
