“I'm fine, Alpha Jayden, I'm okay.” I smiled at Jayden because I didn't know what to say either. If I was honest, I didn't want Noel's behavior to backfire on Jayden, even though he hadn't done anything wrong.
“Listen, Alpha, we don't have any problems. In fact, Miss Erica felt that she was the most suitable woman for you, and I felt the same way, but Alpha, don't you think Miss Erica is too quiet?”
For whatever reason, I didn't understand why Noel could change her expression so quickly, even though earlier she had tried to bring me down, and luckily Jayden didn't fall for her false accusations, but why did she now seem to be defending me, as if she had forgotten to bring me down like before?
I also chose to remain silent, but Jayden looked me in the eye and I looked away because I felt that I couldn't tell him the truth about Noel. I was convinced that Noel was a very manipulative wolf in sheep's clothing, and if she really was the daughter of one of the elders, then it's no wonder she acts so arrogant because she knows there will be people who will defend her, and I certainly can't cause trouble for Jayden and ruin our plans, even though I really want to tear that annoying woman apart.
Jayden also stared at me with a look I didn't understand, and the man seemed to sigh slowly.
“Axel,” Jayden shouted, and Beta, whom he called, immediately came.
“What's wrong, Alpha?” Axel, who was called, immediately faced Jayden.
"Since when did you ask Miss Noel to be my Luna's assistant? How could you make Miss Noel, who is still very tired from her journey, act so busy like she is now, Axel? Don't let Owen misunderstand because we made our only daughter, who is tired, become a special maid to help Erica today."
Hearing Jayden's words, I understood that the man was simultaneously reprimanding his own Beta and also scolding Noel, who shouldn't have been there.
"I'm sorry, Alpha, I forgot to tell you that Owen himself directly requested that Miss Noel be made a maid for Miss Erica today so that Miss Noel could help Miss Erica in the future, and Miss Noel was also very excited to be able to help Miss Erica. Right, Miss Noel?" Axel smiled at Noel, but for some reason, I felt that his smile seemed very cold, and I sensed that Axel was not actually an approachable man. Behind his anger, there was a thin layer he created for people he might not like or trust.
Jayden smiled. "It's okay, Beta Axel, it's just that Miss Noel is very tired from the trip, and I don't want her to be exhausted because after this event is over, she has to go back to the capital to study, right? So let Miss Noel rest well first, and now take Miss Noel back because she’s already very tired. Just call the people I’ve already assigned earlier because Erica also won’t feel comfortable being helped by someone like Miss Noel who shouldn’t be doing this kind of work,” Jayden smiled gently, but I could see from the corner of his eye that he seemed to be mocking Noel’s attitude for meddling in something she shouldn’t be doing, and for some reason, I felt that Jayden didn’t seem to like Noel.
I didn't know if he was acting that way because he simply avoided Noel as a woman or if he was doing all that because he didn't want to be controlled by elders, because I knew that the natural attitude of an Alpha was to be the leader and he would feel very depressed if there were other forces controlling him and preventing him from doing whatever he wanted in his own hierarchy.
“You’re right, Alpha. I’m sorry for being careless, and Miss Noel, I’m sorry for not realizing you needed rest.” Axel looked at Noel, who now looked pale.
“No Alpha, no Beta, I don't need a break at all because I've been so bored resting since yesterday, so please let me help Miss Erica with today's event, and I'm sure my father will be very happy if I can learn from Miss Erica, so please don't send me away. I beg you,” said the woman pleadingly.
“Noel, you don't need to learn from Erica. Erica is the one who should learn from you because I heard you're very accomplished at school, right? So, sometime, give Erica some tips so she can be as great as you and Axel, please take Miss Noel out of here right now,” Jayden was very firm and he didn't seem to let Noel do anything she wanted in that place.
“Alright, Alpha and Miss Noel, let’s go out,” Axel quickly gestured for Noel to leave the place.
Seeing the two men near her openly chasing her away, Noel couldn't say anything else. She finally left the place, and I didn't feel sorry at all seeing that woman being openly intimidated by Jayden and Axel because her attitude was really annoying and she acted like she was in charge, even though I'm sure Jayden himself didn't like her attitude either.
“Alpha Jayden, I didn't expect that the butterflies fluttering around you would want to devour me, even though I don't know any of them,” I said sarcastically to Jayden because I also didn't want to be a naive woman and hide anything from Jayden just to protect people I shouldn't be protecting.
