Chapter 33

Chapter 33
“How could that be? She was very happy to receive what I gave her, so don't talk nonsense, Sky!” I stared at Sky angrily because he was making up stories when I knew that Erica couldn't possibly have an allergy because she was very happy to receive what I gave her.

If Erica really had an allergy, she would have refused it, right?

"You're too naive, Richard, and have you forgotten that when Erica wanted to say something to you at that time, you immediately stopped her? Try to remember.

Sky's words suddenly took me to another place. I realized that now my body was floating into my other memories, and all of this was, of course, Sky's doing.

Now I saw myself and Erica standing right in front of my office. Actually, when I wanted to enter my office, Erica had just come out of it.

“Welcome, Alpha,” Erica greeted me warmly, even though I saw that she had very dark circles under her eyes, and I thought that maybe she hadn't slept for several days.

“Take a break,” I said coldly. I also didn't know why I looked so cruel, even though I remembered that I used to treat her normally, but why did Sky make me a cruel and heartless man here?

“But Alpha, I—”

“No excuses,” Seeing Erica's stubbornness, I looked angry. I didn't understand why my anger exploded like that, even though Erica hadn't done anything. “This is for you, so get out of here!” I continued, handing her the paper bag I had brought.

I didn't expect that I didn't give her the paper bag gently, but instead threw it at Erica, and she happily caught what I threw at her.

Not only was she happy, she even looked rude as she immediately opened the gift I gave her.

“What is this, Alpha? Ah, the dress is so beautiful, and what is this, Alpha? This is—”

“Shut up! If you don't want it, you can throw it away and get out of here. I want to rest,” I quickly dismissed her. I even slammed the door to my office very roughly.

Before I could follow myself, my body was pulled back in front of Sky.

“Have you seen everything now, Richard?” asked my wolf in a cold tone.

"You even treated her like a beggar, and when did you let her speak? Do you know why that woman was so excited when you gave her a gift she should have hated? Because it was the first time you remembered to bring her a souvenir when you were on a business trip, and do you know how long Erica had been waiting for that? It's been two years, Richard! It's been two years since your marriage, and that was the first time you gave her a gift that was so disgusting, so how could that girl not look happy when you threw her a gift that could have killed her?"

Sky's words hit me hard. I didn't remember that little thing at all because all that time I was aware that the only name in my memory was Hazel's, and I was sure that Erica was already very fortunate to have replaced Hazel, so I didn't think the girl needed the attention I gave her.

“Why are you just standing there? Where's your defense, Richard?” asked my wolf again.

“But that was a long time ago, and shouldn't we live in the future instead of the past?” I replied quickly because I had no other answer to give as an excuse.

Sky shook his head, my wolf looked at me with disappointment in his eyes.

“How long are you going to act like this, Richard? Since when did you become so cruel?”

"Come on, Sky, you know that since Hazel left us, I haven't been able to think straight. And you should also realize that this is also your fault because after Hazel left, you also became weak. We have to forget the past. Don't let Hazel know what you're thinking. I don't want her to feel sad and blame herself. And you must remember that our mate is Hazel, not Erica, so it's only natural that she leaves when Hazel comes." I looked at my wolf with a sneer because I felt that everything he said was just the past, while they were now living in the future, and besides, Erica was already gone from their lives, so what else was there to do? Nothing, because they live in the present, not the past.

“Okay, if you think so, but where is the mate you mentioned, Richard? Where is the mate who wasn't by your side when you were sick?” Sky's question made me realize that even though there was a commotion, Hazel didn't come to my office at all, unlike Erica, who always waited for me to come home.

“Come on, Sky, don't be childish. Hazel is probably just resting,” I replied, trying to hide my disappointment, but I forgot that Sky was a part of me and of course my wolf could read my feelings too.

“You're so naive, Richard, and you already regret kicking Erica out of here. If only you hadn't been so rash, maybe you and I wouldn't be suffering like this,” my wolf said again.

“I know I was wrong to chase her away, but why didn't she just beg? If she had begged, maybe I would have let her live on the remote border of the Cendana Pack so she couldn't hurt Hazel again,” I replied quickly because I also thought that maybe if Erica had begged, I would have let her stay in my pack.

“Are you aware of the nonsense you're saying, Richard? Are you just using her as bait on the border, and why do you always accuse her of hurting Hazel? Have you ever seen her hurt my woman directly, no?” Sky replied, making me even more annoyed.

“But all the evidence points to her, Sky! Don't be blind, and don't you remember the pain that woman may have caused us? Maybe now, in order to survive in a luxurious place, she is selling her body and making us suffer the consequences!” I said angrily, remembering that the curse had put me in a coma like this.
