The mirror was staring back at me. Rather, my reflection that was contained within. My fingers folded so tightly that I could feel my knuckles going white. My heart was racing faster than it had ever been— and that was because I was currently wearing a gorgeous white gown.
A wedding gown.
“...I'm really getting married.” I muttered, still unable to believe it.
“Yes, you are.” Nyx returned to my side and continued her previous act of straightening my hair. My hair had always been curly, but today, I somehow had the urge to have it straight and falling down my back like a beautiful stream.
I exhaled a shaky breath and looked at Nyx via the mirror.
“It's so surreal…” I said. “I still cannot believe it.”
Nyx laughed heartily and joked, “It's as real as the baby in your belly.”
I chuckled too. Right. The baby… I rubbed my fairly swollen belly.
“Have you started thinking of names?” She asked me. I couldn't nod my head, so I hummed instead.
“Yes. We're going with Hannah if it's a girl. If it turns out to be an energetic little runt, we'll name him Valor.”
“Those are good names.” Nyx said softly.
When she was done straightening out my hair, she pulled the makeup kit over and said with a smile, “Alright, time to doll you up.”
Before she could begin, however, a knock came from the door. Nyx frowned slightly. She had specifically asked all the maids to steer clear of the room for now. She wanted to dress me up all on her own, so she would be able to proudly say she dolled up the bride.
“I swear, if it's one of those little runts…” She dropped the kit on the table and walked out of the dressing chamber and into the room. Due to my now enhanced hearing, I could easily pick up on who it was at the door.
Cassian.
A faint smile tugged at my lips. I already knew what was coming, after all.
“What the hell are you doing here? I'm busy.” I heard Nyx say.
Cassian chuckled lightly and responded with, “Oh, come on. Can't spare a little time for your beloved boyfriend?”
Those two began dating after that night. I found it sweet. They were such a good pair, and it was rather obvious from the start. Caligo hadn't initially known how to react, but he had gotten used to seeing them get intimate over time. It was hilarious to watch his expression everytime.
“I'm preparing the bride for the wedding. THE BRIDE.”
“I'm quite sure the bride will like it if you come with me. Just for a few minutes.”
“Oh, heavens—” Before Nyx could protest, Cassian was already dragging her away. The door clicked shut.
Less than ten seconds after, the door opened with a click again.
I smiled.
“You know, they say it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding.” I said with a chuckle. “Or was it the dress? I can't recall…”
Caligo stepped into the dressing chamber, all smiles. No, really. His face was graced with the brightest smile in the world. If I didn't know any better, I would've thought he was a priest of light, because the radiance that emanated from his figure was blinding.
“If it's bad luck, then I'm ready to live a very unlucky life. Because nothing will stop me from wanting to see you. Ever,” He stepped closer and hugged me from behind.
I held his arms tenderly and snuggled into his touch.
“Is that what you say to the other girls?”
“The only other girl is our unborn daughter.” Caligo responded.
That got a chuckle out of me. Smooth. Real smooth. I teased further and said, “What it the baby turns out to be a boy?”
Caligo spun my chair around so that I was now facing him. His breath seemed to catch for a moment, because he stared at me like he had been frozen in time. Then, he inhaled and muttered, “I was going to say something, but I was completely entranced by your beauty. Good Goddess, you are beautiful, Rosemary.”
“As are you, my gorgeous prince.” I said, batting my eyelids playfully.
Caligo smacked his lips. He probably couldn't keep it in any longer, so I made things easier for him my leaning forward for a kiss. Caligo instantly collapsed into me, our lips meeting with such fervor that made it seem as though we hadn't seen each other for years.
We still had sex yesterday.
…And, with how exploring our hands were feeling, it seemed like that was going to happen again. Caligo pulled me to my feet, our tongues still locked in each other's mouth. He held me by the waist and guided me to the bedroom. I simply followed his lead, drowning in the unexplainable feeling of bliss.
The nervousness I felt was completely gone now, replaced with certainty and joy.
I pushed him into the bed. That surprised him quite a bit. He bit his lower lip and said, “Surely we aren't the first couple to have sex the morning of the wedding, and not night.”
“Why should we even care?” I was already unzipping my dress. Caligo chuckled and helped me with it. The silky dress fell like a waterfall, and my bare chest said hello to his face.
Caligo let out a deep groan. He pressed his face into my boobs with glee, his hands roaming my body. I wrapped my hands around his head, pressing his face tighter into my chest. My back arched, and I slowly began to gyrate atop him.
“Oh, fuck… I'm so wet right now. Nyx will definitely kill me if I stain this dress, so maybe I should take the entire thing off?”
“That's a good idea.” Caligo nodded, even though his eyes told me that he couldn't process a word I was saying. He was already deep in it.
I hurriedly took off the wedding dress and carefully placed it on the armrest chair. Then, I jumped back into the bed and immediately pressed my whole weight into Caligo.
Fuck, his body was like heroin. Except, I've never had heroin, and I couldn't possibly know what it felt like. But one thing was for sure, I was feeling euphoric at the moment.
And so, for the seven minutes that Nyx was away, Caligo and I fucked each other's brains out.
And, after that, in high afternoon, I walked down the aisle with Nyx by my side. The man I wanted to be with for the rest of my life was already there, waiting. As well as other familiar faces: Nox, Catherine, Cassian, Harold, Dale, Anastasia, the doctors, nurses, maids, pack members. They were all there.
Except for Selene who I learnt had been arrested in the city for the huge debt she owed. Ouch.
Anyway, that afternoon, I read my vows and became officially married to the man of my dreams. And, under the gazes of everyone, Caligo held me tightly by the waist and kissed me like there was no tomorrow.
We became husband and wife.
The End.
