Chapter 30
Chapter 30
Gabriel PoV
I’m slowly losing control, this woman is so fucking addictive, fuck, I can’t even put into words how much I want her. How much I have wanted her since that first moment that we met. She’s a spitfire, she’s strong and she definitely has her own mind.
If our children are anything like her, then they will do me proud, because this woman is brave and fierce. She is everything I wanted in a Queen.
I won’t get long with her, probably fifty years if I’m lucky, but I will treasure every moment as though it is the last, because that is how she deserves to be treated.
She is the sunshine to the darkness I have been surrounded by for so long.
I deepen the kiss, leaning her back against the pillows and I cup the side of her face, she isn’t just sunshine, she tastes like it too. She tastes exactly how I’d imagine heaven to be.
Rhea breaks the kiss, gasping for air, her cheeks a deep shade of pink, she’s flustered, and nervous, and it is the cutest thing I have ever seen in all my life.
“I hope I didn’t take it too far.” I murmur, stroking her red cheek, “I didn’t hurt you did I?”
She shakes her head, smiling shyly, “you didn’t hurt me Gabriel.”
I nod, accepting her answer, “good.”
I turn a second before a knock sounds at the door, my smile quickly disappearing.
It was breakfast, and it spoiled the moment.
I begrudgingly get out of bed and walk towards the door, taking the food from the servant and slamming it closed again. I do not want to be disturbed when I am with my queen, but I also know that she must eat to survive. A wolf shifters eat a lot of food.
Since she has been here, under my care, Rhea has barely consumed the amount of food that she needs to sustain herself. And whilst I’d like to question her about that, I don’t want to ruin the good thing we seem to have going for us right now.
“Here’s breakfast.” I say, keeping my voice light as I place the tray onto the bed. “I hope you’re hungry.”
“Starving.” She says, her cheeks back to their usual colour.
I’d give anything to see her flushed under me again. But now isn’t the right time.
She cuts into the pancakes and shoves a piece into her mouth, meaning as she chews it. “These are great.” She sighs happily.
I stare at her, wondering if she’d make those moans whisky I was inside of her, or would it hurt her? I don’t want her to feel any pain, not with me.
But a certain amount of pain is unavoidable, especially the for the first few minutes after a woman loses her virtue.
“What are you thinking about?“ she asks me, her mouth half full.
I think about lying to her, but I know that I would regret it if I did.
I clear my throat, turning away, “I was thinking about the first time we will have sex together.”
She hums, “I thought it might happen after the kiss.” She admits with a laugh, “but I’m not sure I’m ready for that, let’s just take it one step at a time. I’ve only just had my first kiss.”
“That was your first kiss?” I ask, shocked.
Wolf shifters are very sexual. From quite a young age too, it’s hard to believe that she saved herself, especially her first kiss.
“You have never kissed anyone before me?” I ask, too anxious to hear her answer.
She puts her fork down and clears her throat, her eyes darting around the room but landing on nothing in particular, “yeah, you were my first kiss, I wanted to save everything for my mate, even that. I’ve had offers, and sometimes I almost accepted, but I always wanted to give all of me to the person I’d be spending the rest of my life with.”
She’s adorable.
But I have taken that from her, I have taken away her chance of having a normal life, and I don’t regret it, because she is here, with me. And that is what I want.
“I’m sorry that I have taken that opportunity away from you.” I say slowly, choosing my words carefully, “but I can give you a good life, a life you’ll be proud of.”
She turns to me, her eyes soft, “I know that now, I know that we can have a future together.”
Something inside of me awakens with a need I have never felt before, hearing those words from her is like a blessing I never knew I needed.
I want her to say it again. I want to hear it over and over until my ears can no longer hear it.
I gently lean forward and kiss her cheek, “I’m glad you are finally seeing things the way that I do. And you’re right, we can have a future together, one where you are happy here.”
“I’d stay even if you were exiled.” She whispers, not looking me in the eye anymore. “I don’t think I could abandon you, even if it meant I could go home to my family.”
I stare at her, disbelief clenching at my chest, but how can I not believe her? She hasn’t lied to me before, and she gives me no indication that she is doing so now.
She means what she said, and so do I. I will make this woman happy if it is the last thing that I ever do.
“Finish your breakfast.” I tell her softly, though we both know that it was a command, “if you finish over half that plate, I’ll show you something special.”
Her eyes light up with excitement, “a surprise?”
I nod, pointing to the plate, “but only if I think you have eaten enough.”
She nods happily, digging into her food with a new sense of urgency, if the promise of a little surprise gets her to eat like this, I may just do it more.
I want to show her the library, I think she would love it, she likes to read, I’ve seen her when she thinks no one is watching peeking at the books I leave lying around the room.
I may be wrong, she may not like to read at all, but it’ll give us something to talk about.
Perhaps I’ll take her to the human city and let her choose some clothes or something. I’ve heard that women these days like to shop.
The cinema might be a good idea, I heard there’s a new movie out this week.
I want to give it all to her, I want to see her smile again.
I want to make her the happiest she has ever been.
She is already mine, but I want to make her want me too.
I want to make her see me for the man I am, not the violent vampire king I have to be.
