Chapter 91

Chapter 91
Gritting his teeth, Alpha Jehg tried to steady his vision, but it was already blurring. He stumbled, tripping over a twisted root protruding from the ground, and fell forward, his balance failing him. The ground felt cold and unforgiving against his palms, and he knew that even his survival instincts were faltering. Lifting his head, he saw his son’s wolf stalking closer, a twisted grin spread across its face. Slowly, the beast loomed over him, savoring the moment. With a disturbing swiftness, his son transformed back into his human form, naked and confident, his smirk gleaming with malice.

Asshole’s knee came up sharply, smashing into the alpha’s face with brutal force. The world tilted, and before he could gather his senses, Asshole grabbed the alpha’s own sword, twisting it before stabbing it straight through his father’s back and heart. Blood spurted from the wound, splattering across his son’s face and chest. Alpha Jehg felt his strength ebbing, his limbs growing heavier as he tried and failed to summon the healing magic that had once come so easily to him. He stumbled backward, clutching at the blade embedded in him, realising his magic was lost to him, like sand slipping through his fingers.

His son’s laughter rang out, harsh and triumphant. “Your little hideaway, your precious cottage—did you think you could keep her safe from me? You call yourself a guardian?” He sneered, his tone dripping with contempt. “You’re pathetic, just like Eve. But don’t worry, I’ll enjoy watching her demise as much as I’m enjoying this.”

The rain began to fall then, a sudden and chilling downpour that soaked the clearing. The sky seemed to mirror Jehg’s desperation, but Asshole only laughed louder, as if revelling in the storm.

But suddenly, something stirred within Alpha Jehg. His last enchantment, his final defence, activated. Fueled by an ancient magic buried deep within him, his wolf form re-emerged, staggering to its feet. With a desperate burst of energy, he leaped back, putting distance between himself and Asshole, hoping—praying—for even a slim chance at escape. Yet his son was relentless. He rushed forward, sword in hand, delivering vicious, unyielding strikes. Alpha Jehg fought back, trying to block the onslaught, but each of his blows grew weaker, his movements slower, his body betraying him as it finally began to fail.

In one last effort, Alpha Jehg adjusted his grip on his sword, attempting a desperate swing, but his failing strength betrayed him. The blade slipped from his grasp, and Asshole seized the opportunity, grabbing his father’s head and yanking it back. The cold steel of the sword scraped against Jehg’s skin as Asshole sneered down at him. “I’m going to enjoy killing you, father,” he hissed, his voice dripping with venom. With a vicious uppercut to his father’s jaw, he forced Alpha Jehg’s head back with a sickening crack.

Alpha Jehg tried to retaliate, mustering every ounce of his fading strength to land a powerful punch to his son’s shoulder, momentarily dislodging Asshole’s grip. But the effort was in vain. Asshole recovered quickly, grabbing Jehg’s ankle and, with a brutal twist, flung him across the clearing. Jehg’s body hit the ground with a heavy thud, his bones feeling as though they might shatter from the impact. He struggled to his feet, his vision narrowing to slits as his son’s cruel laughter filled his ears.

"Run, Father! Run! The monster is coming!" Asshole taunted, his voice echoing through the clearing. He darted forward, moving faster than Alpha Jehg could register, his form a blur in the rain-soaked darkness. Desperately, Alpha Jehg turned, but he was too slow, his body too broken. He felt the sharp edge of Asshole’s sword slice toward him in a deadly arc, aimed for his neck.

The blade struck with finality. The impact sent Alpha Jehg’s head reeling, the force slamming him backward against a nearby tree, his head colliding with the rough bark before his body slumped to his knees. Blood poured from the wound, mingling with the rain as it streamed down his face. Above him, Asshole stood, a monstrous grin stretched across his blood-streaked face, the flicker of sadistic delight dancing in his eyes.

“Pathetic,” Asshole sneered, his voice a whisper but carrying with it a weight of final judgement. He raised his head, tasting the rain mingled with his father’s blood on his lips, his laughter echoing through the trees and reverberating across the clearing. The mist that had once shrouded the area seemed to dissipate, as if recognizing the finality of the scene. In the distance, the hidden cottage was now visible, vulnerable and unprotected, just as the old man had been.

Asshole’s laughter filled the air, blending with the storm’s fury, while the blood-soaked ground lay silent beneath him.

With that vision, I woke up angrier than ever and this time, vowed to kill Sues aka Alpha-King-New-Jegh-Asshole

Alpha King’s Camp, Present Day

The savage army of the Alpha King craved bloodshed more than peace. Witches and feral shifters donned thick woolen uniforms, some fortified with leather enchanted by dark magic. They charged toward me and the Vampire King’s territory—a mass of human soldiers and feral werewolves. Their advance was swift and relentless. Flames of darkness and hatred blazed in their eyes, mirroring the feral madness I’d seen too many times before.

After leaving the mansion, Jason and I had headed to the Witch Village to check on Eve, his spy. Instead, we stumbled upon Asshole’s camp. Without hesitation, Sues—“The Alpha King”—ordered his armies to attack. How could he be so stupid and cruel? Death was everywhere these days, and for what? My awesomeness?

I couldn’t just stand by. I wielded my earth power, raised my sword, and let out a scream meant to intimidate—or at least annoy. Faery winked at me from the fray, but the overwhelming numbers soon forced us into the thick of battle. Jason, with his razor-sharp precision, targeted weak points in their enchanted armor. He moved like a storm, beheading humans and shifters alike with effortless speed.

Oh yeah, my man. I called him mine. I’m his bride.
Take that, bitches—the King of Nighters is mine.

Yet, the victory felt hollow. The cries of the fallen echoed through the village, their blood soaking into the earth. Darkness crept over the battlefield, suffocating and cold. Jason wasn’t happy either. This was the beginning of a war none of us wanted, fueled by dark witches’ potions and spells, their magic rippling through the air like a storm. Sues didn’t care about the families of his feral shifters. He was no longer just “an Asshole”—he was a monster, pure evil.

Through the clash of steel and bursts of dark magic, I summoned a boulder from the cliffs above. It plummeted onto the ferals, who barely had time to react. “Sorry, dogs! You deserve this!” I shouted. “Screw with my Birkins, and I’ll screw with your balls!” Jason raised an eyebrow at me, mid-swing.

“Really, darling?” he asked, a hint of amusement on his lips as he decapitated another shifter.

I smirked. “What can I say? I talk when I’m scared, angry, or nervous.”

Jason fought with unrelenting fury, and for a moment, I let him handle the chaos. But then I saw it—at the back of the camp, chained to a wall, were a massive white wolf and a woman, both covered in blood and mud. My heart dropped.

“What the hell?”

Their ankles and wrists were bound in enchanted chains, and an enormous icicle pierced the wolf’s head. Blood trickled from a dark green javelin embedded in its side—a sight more terrible than I could bear.

“It’s Patrick, Paris, and Diane,” I whispered, my voice trembling. I hadn’t even realized they were missing. I thought they’d been safe at the Vampire King’s camp.

Patrick’s wolf form lay broken, his breathing shallow. “I’m coming,” I whispered, willing the wind to carry my voice.

Patrick groaned weakly, his eyes barely open. “I’m sorry, Phia... I thought I could stop him. I thought I could convince my brother…” His voice cracked with pain.

“Don’t talk,” I said firmly. “Asshole isn’t the man we knew. He’s something worse now—something we can’t fight alone.”

Jason’s voice cut through the chaos behind me. “Take your friends to safety. I’ll handle the rest,” he said, his tone calm yet commanding. He knew how I felt—grief, fury, and something darker. I was a storm waiting to break.

“Lady Ollivara, we’ll hold the line!” Henry and White shouted, locked in battle with gigantic wolves.

“No one’s dying today,” Jason snapped, silencing their grim resolve. He kissed my forehead before plunging back into the fray. “Go. I’ve got you.”

“Fine,” I said, my voice wavering with worry. “But you better stay alive, Jason. I’m not done with you yet.”

His smirk lingered as I ran.

Don’t worry, love. I love you.
I love you too, sweetie pie, I thought back.

Dodging spells and shifters, I pushed toward my friends. The witches guarding them hurled enchantments like wildfire. My body trembled with each hit, but I didn’t stop. Rocks rained down, tree trunks bent to my will, and the ferals screamed as chaos engulfed them. Blood and smoke hung thick in the air, suffocating anyone who dared breathe.

Finally, I reached them. “Patrick, hold on!” I pleaded. His pain was unbearable to witness. “We’ll get you out of here.”

But in the back of my mind, a dark thought loomed. Sues was close. His magic dragged at me, oppressive and heavy. I couldn’t see him, but I could feel him watching, waiting.

Not yet, I thought. I’ll deal with him soon enough.
