So nervous
So nervous
Even though my meeting was important and I was engaged throughout, I was constantly glancing at my watch wishing that seven came soon. Eventually it did and I left Durham as quickly as I could without raising suspicions on my sudden hurry.
Before starting the car I texted Blair to let him know I was on my way. It had been so long since he surprised me that I even broke the speed limit a few times just to get there faster.
I parked my car in my garage and took the elevator to my floor. It felt weird to ring my own doorbell. I had never done it actually. It felt as if I was sharing a house.
Sharing a house with him.
"Good evening Dr Reynolds," he said as he opened the door. My smile instantly grew when the smell of homemade food reached my nose. I tried peeping inside but Blair blocked my way.
"You're only coming in after you kiss me," he said defiant. I rolled my eyes playfully and leaning in, cupping his cheeks and closing the gap between our lips. He walked away from the door, pulling me with him. I closed the door with my foot, my hands resting on his waist as we laughed at the silly moment.
When we broke the kiss he dragged me to the kitchen, wanting to show me what he had cooked. I noticed he had changed clothes to a tighter pair of black jeans and a flowy red shirt. He wanted to showcase his physique, that's for sure.
He told me sit at the table, that he'd take care of everything. I felt weird waiting for him, like I was receiving a treat when I didn't deserve it. However, this was his night, and if he wanted me to wait and not help him, I'd wait.
He joined me soon enough carrying two giant steaks and roast potatoes. My mouth dropped at the richness of the dark gravy, the crispiness of the potatoes, and the steak cooked to perfection.
"You're seriously the best cook, I'm not kidding," I said, the steak melting in my mouth. He blushed, smiling with his lips closed as he chewed.
He hadn't opened a bottle of wine for us to enjoy over the steak. Instead, he filled a jug of water and placed it on the table before I arrived. It confused me at first why he had done it, but then I remembered his intentions for tonight. He wanted us both completely sober for what came next.
I grew nervous as dinner progressed. Even when he brought out the delicious dessert he had baked, I was plagued with indecision. I suspected he knew this by the way he reached for my hand across the table and played with my fingers, like he was trying to reassure me without saying what we both felt out loud.
"You've been awfully quiet tonight," he said, finishing up his dessert.
"Oh, it's nothing. Had a busy week, that's all."
He raised an eyebrow, not going along with my story. "That's a shame Dr Reynolds. I have just the thing you need on the couch to cheer you up after you help me clean up."
As I walked to the sink with our plates in hand, I kissed him on the cheek. I didn't want him to think I was ungrateful for the surprise.
"Dinner was lovely. You had so much work sweetheart. Thank you," I said, pulling him closer. It felt good not to second guess myself every time I touched him.
"Thank me after you try the chocolates."
"Chocolates?" I asked.
He sprinted to the couch, getting comfortable on the pillows, leaning back and enjoying the fireplace. I joined him and he immediately pulled out from the middle of the couch a small box of dark chocolate truffles. I shook my head in disbelief. He was trying so hard and it made my heart melt.
We snuggled on the couch, indulging in those decadent chocolate truffles. Blair rested on my chest, his feet tucked underneath him. We watched the fire crackle, the flames dancing and the smoke rising, and all of a sudden I had the urge to touch the boy in my arms.
I ran my fingertips up and down his arms over his shirt. He closed his eyes and softly hummed as I caressed him. I did the same to his other arm, my fingertips barely grazing it. His body melted into me. It was such a divine feeling to have him react this way.
"I want you to touch me," he whispered, his eyes still closed. "That feels so good."
I tucked my hands under his knees, bringing his legs over my lap. At first I only brushed my fingers over the bottom half of his legs, but when I noticed him completely relax, my fingers ventured up to his thigh, scratching his jeans.
I gave him small pecks on the cheek as my fingers delicately travelled back and forth on his body. He placed his hand over mine and pressed it harder against his skin. I applied more pressure, massaging his legs, arms, shoulders, and back.
Soon, the small pecks to his cheeks were replaced with slow kissing on the lips, his hands travelling to the nape of my neck and tugging at my hair. Eventually, he took my hand which was only touching his outer thigh and moved it to his inner thigh.
I stopped at first, knowing what he wanted. I wanted it too, but my mind kept replaying that night where he tearfully told me about his past.
"Hey, it's alright," he said, cupping my cheeks. I looked into his eyes and saw them filled with anticipation and desire.
"I'm nervous Blair," I confessed, lowering my eyes. It felt so freeing to be honest.
"I knew you would say that," he replied. "That's why I came up with a little game."
He let go of my cheeks and climbed onto my lap, straddling me. I leaned back, curious as to what other surprise he had in store.
"All over my body I have written tiny letters that spell a word," he began. "The objective of the game is for you to find them and guess the word. You can only guess the word once you've found all the letters. Any questions?"
A bewildered smile grew on my face, shaking my head in disbelief.
"Is this a game for me to undress you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. It was quite ingenious to be honest.
"There will be undressing involved, but the goal is to help you relax and have fun."
I had two options: one, I could take it slow, tell him I wasn't ready yet, that the memories were still too vivid in my mind, or two, I could give in, do what felt right, and give him the amazing night he had envisioned as he cooked dinner for us.
I made him loop his arms around my neck and held his thighs.
"If I'm going to play treasure hunt I need to take you to the right setting. Hold tight."
I got up, carrying him up with me. Once he realized we were going to the bedroom he squealed in excitement. I kissed his cheek as I moved along, his energy transferring to me.
"I have one last surprise for you," he smiled as I walked us down the corridor. I opened my bedroom door and was suddenly hit by the scent of lilacs. Even though the lights were off, the entire room was lit up with countless small unscented candles, the four lilac candles burning on the bedside tables.
My room was completely transformed, so much so it took my breath away. I put Blair down, my eyes glued to the thirty-plus candles on every flat surface of my room.
