Elves and Dwarves

Ayla POV

The days have passed and more and more I feel my body aching and hurting when I take the potions, but at least I'm managing to withstand the auras of the various types of creatures and beings that are arriving to take part in the wedding.

Of course, I don't meet all of them, just the most important ones for now and always in the Hall of Thrones, because there I feel much stronger, and I'm not so affected by the auras.

Of course, I'm sleeping more and so the surrounding security has doubled. I always have a few soldiers around me when Victor and Soren aren't around. Even with Ghost present, everyone agreed that this extra security would be better.

I didn't pass out in any of the encounters, but I was always drained at the end of them. This shows how strong I'm getting, the voices in my mind become constant, and they're always fighting, although I never understand what they're saying, but I understand their feelings.

Another beneficial point was that my vampiric side didn't get out of control and my desire to be close to Ghost didn't increase.

"Ayla." I heard Soren calling me and raised my head to look at him. "This afternoon, the rulers of the other Kingdoms began to arrive."

My mate warned me and I sighed. This is one of our fears because until now I hadn't come face to face with beings with the same or similar levels of power as Soren, Victor, and Ghost.

"Do you know who the first ones will be?" I asked, trying to prepare myself psychologically for my possible reactions.

"The Elven Kingdom, Lord and Lady Elyon Wysabel," Victor replied.

"After them, the Lords of Yasmerhil should arrive, it's a kingdom made up mostly of dwarves," Soren informed.

I nodded slightly. I took a deep breath and then they both hugged me, kissing me lightly on the temple.

"Shall we go?" Soren asked after a few minutes.

"Yes!" I said, feeling more confident.

We left the room hand in hand, as always, the journey to the Hall of Thrones was uneventful, but I could feel the aura of the other beings pressing down on me the closer I got.

As soon as we entered, the hall fell silent, as always, we were at the side entrance, closer to the Thrones, I could already see the different races and it was funny to see those taller people while there were smaller ones and the hall was divided into two sides, as if these races didn't mix.

My skin crawls and the feeling of worms is intense. I squeeze my mates' hands tightly and immediately Victor and Soren's aura increases to the point where the lights almost go out and they all bow and lower their auras.

"It was already in the invitation that within my domains, I won't tolerate fighting!" Soren's voice echoed all around.

"You are guests here! Your conflicts must be put aside..." Victor added.

"I believe... that you could use this opportunity to try to find a way to live together in peace," I spoke in a calm voice.

I didn't let on how much the situation had affected me. I've always been good at hiding my emotions.

"After all, the Vampire Kingdom and the Lycan Kingdom had their feuds and today they live together in peace," I added as I sat down and kept my expression as neutral as possible. "I understand that you have your age-old feuds... But it's time to look at the present and the future because no one here would believe that the Vampire Kingdom would accept a slave as its mate, fated one or not. Here I am, a slave from the Lycan world, ruling alongside two great men."

The silence became heavier, as I knew this information was mostly spread as a rumor, but now I was assuming it was true. No one here is ashamed of where I came from.

"So it's true?" A woman with blonde hair that reached almost to her feet, wearing translucent white robes that overlapped so as not to be transparent, asked. Looking at me intensely.

"Yes, I don't have to lie." I smiled. "Everyone knows that the Lycan Kingdom had a policy of slavery... Soren found me at the event called the Grand Ball, where various packs gathered to try and find their mates." I explained how it all began.

"Did you really find a necromancer?" A short man, a dwarf, asked. His voice was thick and reverberated off the walls as if the rock recognized him.

"Yes, we managed to exterminate what remained of the Lycan Kingdom and so now the King, Ghost, has sworn allegiance to us because we helped him free his Kingdom," Victor replied.

Ghost bowed his head briefly.

"Have you ever wondered if the feud that exists between your Kingdoms is valid, or was it the fabrication of an enemy who wishes to destroy everyone?" I asked, calmly. "For the Necromancers have had influence over the Lycan Kingdom for millennia... Just as they influenced the Vampiric Kingdom."

I saw heads turn, glances were exchanged, and an aura of doubt fell over everyone involved.

"What proof do you have? Who is telling this story? Who is the enemy?" I asked.

I blinked a few times, feeling my vision start to blur as I passed my eyes over the crowd.

"And why deny the ties of Fated One between your race?" I heard Hermaði's voice echo loudly.

I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and knew I was reacting to Victor and Hermaði's ability.

Several voices rose, and my head started to hurt more because it was getting on my nerves.

"ENOUGH!" I shout, opening my eyes in anger, and everyone seems to weigh on their shoulders. "Do you think you're better than Soren? Or do you think your fated one is worse than a slave? Is that it?"

I see several of them swallow, the air is heavy.

"If the Vampire Emperor accepted a slave as his mate... why do you try to refuse this gift? To me, there are only two possibilities, either you think you're better than the Vampire Emperor, or you believe that your other half is worth less than a slave." My voice hung over everyone's head.

It's noticeable who was fighting about this, I don't know if they had already rejected each other or not.

"Think about my words before you make a decision you might regret." "I can't say it was a pleasure meeting you... But I hope you'll behave better. After all, I won't tolerate this kind of pettiness in my marriage!"

Before they could reply, I turned my back and walked towards the exit.

I know that Soren and Victor will stay behind to deal with the rest, but I need to rest, I can already feel my body losing strength, but I forced myself to keep walking normally until I finally left the hall.

I feel Ghost's hands on my waist and the sensation of worms is present, as I see things with a bluish, somewhat greenish glow.

"I'm using my ability to become practically invisible to take you to the Imperial bedroom." Ghost explained.

I closed my eyes and stopped pretending, letting out a sigh of pain and tiredness. It took a few minutes for us to arrive because Ghost was moving slowly, precisely so as not to hurt me anymore.

I know the exact moment I enter the Imperial bedroom and open my eyes, Ghost lets go of my waist and I stagger, but I make it to the bed and lie down. My vision simply blacked out.
