Chapter 18: Suspicious
Althea acted like the headache was increasing and told them that they needed to take her to the physician immediately.
They agreed and took her to the physician. The reason why she wanted to go to the physician is because she had inquired from him when he came to treat her yesterday and he had told her the direction of the medical house. It was located close to the second gate that leads to the administrative part of the Baron’s estate. She knew that if she is able to make it to the administrative part, escaping won’t be difficult anymore.
The physician was surprised to see her and had told her that she would have called for him and he would have come to check on her in her chamber that she did not need to come all the way here.
She told him she was close by so there was no need to call him since she could easily come here.
After checking on her he told her she will be fine and all she needs was to take the medications he gave her yesterday for the period of time he told her to take it.
All the time he was talking, her eyes were on the entrance that leads to the administrative part of the residence.
When the physician left to do something in his office and she saw the guards outside were not paying attention. She quietly left through the other exit.
She was putting on a long sweater with a hoodie so she had immediately covered her face with it as she hastened her steps and ran as fast as she could when she had the chance.
She went to were foodstuffs were offloaded and immediately got into the foodstuff carriage and hid inside. She knew at that moment the guards and the physician will be looking for her and her maid would have long been searching for her in the mansion.
She prayed that they won’t come to this place, and her prayers were answered when the carriage started moving. She sighed in relief that it had left the Barons estate.
On large gate, there were guards who inspect the carriage before it leaves. There were still goods inside so she hid inside so while they were searching they did not see her.
Althea was sigh in relief
When the carriage stopped and she heard noises that showed that it was in the market place now. She quietly came out before the offloaders will find her inside.
Sh sold her jewelry to the jewelry seller and they did not question her because they saw she was dressed in a expensive clothing.
With the money in hand, she will be able to get cheap peasant clothing cause she could not afford to be seen in such clothes, if she keeps on wearing it the capital guards which are under the command of the Baron will catch her cause it had the symb of the Carter family embroidered in the clothe she wore.
Already bought peasant clothes and a cheap hoodie garment with a small cheap bag. She changed into the cloth and looked for something to paint her face so she will be unrecognizable.

Now she was heading to the sea side to buy tickets.
She successfully passed the city guards and sighed in relief. She looked like a beggar at this point but that was good if she wanted to successfully escape.
It’s been two hours since she ran away so news of her escape would have spread and they will be looking for her by now.
Her heartbeat rapidly and she murmured words of prayers, praying that she will be able to get a ticket to leave on time before they find her.
She had gone to the ticket stand to buy a ticket to the South. She could not return to the north because Damian will find her and bring her back so it’s best she goes to another country and from the south she will board a ship to another continent, she was willing to go as far as possible away from this mad man.
After buying the ticket she boarded the ship and waited for it to sail. She prayed silently for the ticket to be sold on time so they can leave immediately.
As she had hoped the tickets were sold on time and the shipped was sailed. Althea looked back at the city and sighed in relief that she had left there, the heavens was sure on her side.
She sat down on the floor of the ship like everyone else who boarded and felt calm now that she was far away from the reach of Damian and his men.
Althea closed her eyes to sleep since she did not sleep last night, now that she felt in peace she slept off. It was summer so the sun and the wind of the sea made the weather nice.
Althea did not know how long she slept when she felt felt like the ship was turning and someone shaked her to wake up.
Her eyes opened and she stared at the woman shaking her “What's wrong?” she asked as she looked around and saw eveyone on their feet and the ship was turning.
“We are going back” the old woman said
Hearing this, Althea stood up immediately, her heart beat rapidly “Why are we going back” she said in horror.
“According to what I heard the Baron had ordered that all ships that sailed this morning should return” the woman said
Althea swallowed when she heard this, tears filled her eyes. She had been caught.
The woman looked at her suspiciously
