Chapter 178 - A MIRACLE SILVER WOLF

177. Triz's POV

When my family was killed, I even surprised myself if I didn't go mad.

There were deaths right, left and center and we were all grieving.

At that time, I didn't know what was happening and I had no clue.

Even when we buried the last person and it was just me and Strina, she didn't tell me why.

She lost her mind and I remember going to the palace and begging the then alpha to help me take her to a good mental hospital and I would be paying.

Strina had made sure that we were well off and even if she didn't have money, my family had left me enough and I could use it to support her.

After she went to the mental hospital, I used to visit her almost every week until she asked me not to.

She said that her life was in danger and she would be putting me in danger if I continued to visit her.

I tried asking Strina what happened but she didn't want to tell me anything.

All she repeated every time was that she was to blame but she didn't tell me why or how.

I stopped visiting her and then after several years, I had managed to convince everyone that I was crazy and no one followed me and so, I could sneak out in a disguise and visit her.

It was during one such visit, which was my last time to see her alive, did she give me the two notebooks.

She made me swear not to read them and to only give them to either Alana or Strina.

I wondered why and those two were just children then and my curiosity got the better of me.

I read the notebooks and the revelations in there surprised me.

I couldn't believe that Trina chose a stranger over her own family.

I had no problem with the fact that she had made a deal with the witches and all that.

In fact, I would have done the same if I was in her place.

Faced with a decision of either struggling forever or working for the witches and making my family better, I would have chosen the latter.

But why did Strina have to change her mind over such an insignificant girl as Tamia?

Even if she was the real princess, she didn't deserve to live and my family to die.

So, after I learnt the truth from those journals, I decided to be patient for a bit more.

I had pretended for several years and a few more were no biggie.

So, I waited and hoped.

When she was accused of killing Alana, I hoped she would kill them but the girl was like the proverbial cat with nine lives.

She didn't die and she fought in until we all thought she was dead.

To make sure that it was true she was dead, I consulted a magician whom I paid a lot of money to keep quiet and she told me that Tamia was still alive.

I asked her where the girl was and she told me to be patient.

She told me that Tamia would come looking for me.

So, when she came, I expected it but I had rehearsed how I would behave with her for years.

I wanted revenge.

I did not understand why she was still alive even after everything and my family wasn't.

In fact, I watched as Logan killed Kola and I didn't say anything because he also deserved it.

It was him Strina told about the deal with the witches and that was how Mary died.

Mary went to cut a deal with the witches, her life for Tamia’s and they agreed and that is how the little brat is still alive.

I wondered what was so good about her that everyone was willing to die for her.

What was so good about that that even her mother chose death over her?

That was what I could never understand and I chose to take it upon myself to end her.

I would end what the witches and even Logan had been unable to do.

Tamia must die for my heart to be at peace.

That was what I told myself.

So, when her and that man came, I was ready.

I took all her generosity to make her trust me.

What I had not banked on was the fact that even the Goddess had favored her and made her stronger than all of us.

Why?

What is so special about Tamia?

I asked myself that question a thousand times and I still didn't have an answer.

I didn’t understand why people and even the Goddess favored Tamia more than all of us.

Was it because she was beautiful?

What was it?

But even if it was beautiful, I was sure that we could find better looking women out there.

I can’t say that I was jealous per se but I was bitter and angry.

I wanted revenge for my family.

I would have had no problem if it was my aunt and uncle who died but why involve my dad and mom and brother who had even left the pack?

What did they have to do with it?

And when Strina learnt that siding with Tamia and her family would mean the demise of ours, why did she still do it?

I could not understand and that was why I was bitter.

And as if everything was running the way she wanted, Tamia was able to oust Logan without a problem.

She did it so smoothly that everyone sympathized with her.

I don’t deny that Logan wasn’t the best leader out there but as selfish as Tamia always is, she didn’t consider that.

She didn’t consider that Logan was born royalty and brought up that way and knew no other life except that one.

So, I decided to take revenge on her.

I was the one who reached out to Logan and even gave him the idea of ousting Tamia.

Nit ousting per se but asking for the pack back.

That way, Tamia would lose something.

And knowing her and how strong she is, I knew that the only way to get to her was to touch what she valued the most.

She loved her children to death and I knew that she would do anything to get them back.

That was why I took them out because everyone knew and trusted me and took them to Logan.

In fact, I didn’t want anything from Logan after he was able to get the pack back.

All I wanted was to see Tamia lose some.

I wanted to see her at her lowest and see what she would be willing to lose to save her babies.

So, I wasn’t interested in what Logan was doing or what means he used.

It wasn’t upon me to take care of the children and I didn’t bother.

I hated children and the only reason I pretended to like children and even reach them well was so as to make Tamia trust me.

And it worked.

So, I watched as Logan ordered the children to be given the sleeping potion each time one would wake up and at the back of my mind, I thought that they would eventually wake up.

I didn’t think that it would affect one of them and even use his death.

Also, I hadn’t known that Tamia could be invisible.

I knew she was powerful and that was why I suggested we hide at Clear Waters Pack because no one would think that we were hiding right under her nose.

But she was better than I thought.

She found us and she, again, did it so effortlessly that I hated her more.

I wanted to kill myself when I saw her but she got me before I could.

I knew I would be tortured but I didn’t think she would be this dedicated to it.

The bitch cuts me as if she is slicing greens to be cooked.

She did my foot as if she was slicing apples.

She’s so savage and though I know I don’t deserve it, I have to take it because even if I was to fight, it would be in vain because I know I can’t beat her.

Do I regret anything I have done so far?

No.

Absolutely not.

In fact, even if I was to be given another chance, I would do it again.

The pain she is feeling for losing her child is not even a fraction of what I felt when I lost my whole family.

Tit for tat is a fair game, isn’t it?

So, she can torture me however she wants but I don’t regret it.

Let her feel at least a fraction of what I felt when Strina did that stupid decision.

And by the way, I was the one who killed Strina.

I had all the family money at my disposal and after I learnt of her stupid decisions, I was so angry that I couldn’t forgive her.

Both her and Tamia could go to hell for all I care.
