Chapter 136 Triple Agent Cressida
After Cressida lost her boyfriend, Dorian thought he had become Cressida's only support and could keep her firmly under his control, so he wasn't as guarded around her as he was with others.
Cressida used her knowledge of Dorian and everyone around him to carefully plan an inescapable murder.
"You shouldn't have killed him now." The red-haired man glanced at Cressida through the rearview mirror. "The organization didn't give the order. You acted on your own, and the consequences will be serious. You better prepare to be punished."
Cressida nodded calmly. "I'm willing to accept the punishment."
Alison listened to their conversation and couldn't help thinking deeply.
The red-haired man glanced at her and moved his head away from the gun. "Alison, you already know who we are. Can you give me back the gun now?"
"Sure." Alison didn't cling to the weapon but emptied it first, scattering bullets across the floor, then handed back the harmless weapon.
After this show of force, the red-haired man didn't dare say anything more. The car sped up and raced forward in silence.
Several miles behind them, Oliver had already caught up.
Taylor was driving and after glancing at the side mirror a few times, noticed several cars following them and immediately told Oliver.
"It's Freya and Marshall's people." Oliver had already learned the situation from Joey. He ordered coldly, "Take detours and lose them!"
"Yes!"
The afternoon sunlight grew softer, and the western sky gradually turned orange-red with the sunset. Two cars pulled into the courtyard of a small villa. Alison got out of the car and quietly observed her surroundings.
"Are you okay?" The red-haired man noticed her face looked a bit pale.
"Your driving is terrible. I get carsick." Alison said. Fortunately, her face blindness hadn't kicked in.
The red-haired man, rebuffed, hurried toward the villa. "Everyone, get inside quickly! Black Wolf, your wound needs to be treated right away."
Alison followed him into the villa and found only one person waiting for them inside.
A man who looked somewhat familiar to Alison.
She remembered this man had founded an antique appraisal studio and had once invited her to join. The man's nickname was White Fox.
"White Fox?" Alison remembered.
"Alison, it's been a long time." White Fox was around forty years old with a gentle manner. When he smiled, his eyes narrowed into slits. He extended his hand to Alison. "I'm glad you still remember me."
"White Fox, you know her?" The red-haired man asked in surprise. The others looked equally amazed.
"Alison almost became one of us a few years ago." White Fox invited Alison to sit on the sofa and introduced her. "This is Fire Fox, my brother."
"You're real brothers?" Alison looked back and forth between their faces, unable to find any resemblance.
"Not real brothers, but as close as real brothers." White Fox said.
"How many people are in the Aurora Syndicate organization?" Alison asked. "Are you the leader?"
"We have several hundred people, multiple leaders. Each person manages a group of people, and everyone has their own territory. I sincerely hope you'll join us."
Alison shook her head, uninterested.
Years ago, she had rejected White Fox because she thought his studio seemed unreliable. Now that she knew they were a bunch of "Avengers" working separately with complicated interests, she definitely wouldn't agree.
But White Fox didn't want to give up.
Over the years, he had gathered many talented people for himself, absorbing every useful force he could. He had spent months visiting Cressida in person before finally recruiting her.
Facts proved his judgment was good. Cressida knew many of Dorian's secrets and had once been a mole on the Thomas Holdings board of directors. Later, she even became a triple agent, providing them with a lot of useful help.
Alison was also someone he had his eye on.
Although Cressida's suggestion was good, Oliver was too high and mighty, so White Fox wasn't very hopeful. But if Alison was really important to Oliver, then as long as he could get Alison to join, wouldn't Oliver be willing to cooperate with them?
"I heard you're now a special consultant for the police?" White Fox said regretfully. "Your knowledge of religious studies is very deep, but working with the police, your scope is limited, right? Santos is very interested in religious studies. I desperately need someone with your talent. I'll give you the greatest degree of freedom and the highest pay I can offer."
"You talk a good game, but is freedom with restrictions still freedom? How much is the pay? Can it be over a million dollars a year? Who knows if your organization is poor or rich?" Alison said bluntly.
"Over a million dollars a year?" Before White Fox could say anything, Fire Fox said angrily, "Why don't you just go rob someone!"
"I don't need to rob anyone. With my skills, earning over a million dollars a year is easy." Alison deliberately acted like she looked down on the Aurora Syndicate organization.
Just then, her phone rang.
"It's Oliver calling. Can I answer? Since you want to see him, I'll ask where he is and tell him to hurry up." Although Alison asked White Fox, she didn't wait for his answer before pressing the answer button.
"Alison, are you okay? I'm almost there." Oliver asked with concern.
Alison felt warm inside. "I'm fine, just a bit thirsty. The Aurora Syndicate organization invited me as a guest, but they haven't even given me a glass of water and made me talk for so long."
White Fox's expression changed slightly, as if he had just realized their lack of courtesy.
Black Wolf, who had just finished treating his wound, walked into the living room and happened to hear this. Already dissatisfied with Alison, he sneered, "We'll give you water, but do you dare drink it?"
"Why wouldn't I dare? We have no grudges. White Fox, you wouldn't harm me, would you?" Alison looked at White Fox calmly. "Please give me a cup of hot water, thank you."
"We've been rude." White Fox hadn't expected Alison to be so difficult to deal with. "Black Wolf, go back to your room and rest. Don't come out! Fire Fox, go bring our guest some hot water."
Actually, if White Fox had properly visited and invited her, Alison might have seriously considered it. But they had half-threatened, half-deceived her into coming here, and their purpose was to lure Oliver out, which made her very unhappy.
White Fox also figured out where the problem was, but when Fire Fox told him, Alison was already in the car. It was too late to regret now.
For a moment, no one in the living room spoke. Only the kettle on the stove made noise.
Until gunshots suddenly rang out outside, breaking the dull atmosphere.
White Fox looked shocked. Could Alison be far more important to Oliver than he had imagined? Had they angered Oliver by taking Alison, so now Oliver wanted to intimidate them with force?
Cold sweat slid down White Fox's temple. Oliver's people were all tough, and their weapons weren't something they could match.
He quickly said to Alison, "Please tell Mr. West we didn't mean to threaten you."
Alison raised her hand to signal him to be quiet. "It's not Oliver. Hide first!"
Not far from the villa, Taylor was the first to notice something wrong. "Mr. West, those guys were clearly shaken off by us. How did they get here before us?"
"Someone naturally told them the location." Oliver sneered. "It was Cressida."
In the villa, someone had already broken in, but White Fox and Fire Fox had no defenses prepared.
"Hand over Cressida!" The intruder shouted.
"Who are you? How dare you cause trouble on our turf!" Fire Fox fired a shot at the person's feet. The other side charged in regardless, and the second shot went toward their body.
The two sides started fighting without another word. The other side had more people, bullets flew wildly through the air, and Cressida followed closely behind Alison as they hid in the kitchen.
Alison guessed this group's appearance had something to do with Cressida. Cressida truly lived up to being a triple agent.
But why would Cressida do this?
