99. Rescue

99. Rescue
I didn't give a damn who that bastard was associated with, he could be associated with God himself for all I cared, but all his allies would fall by my hand, just like the damn Nazis.

"We're ready, sir," Tyler spoke by my side, and I nodded, feeling my weapon and praying to heaven that the sicko hadn't done anything to her.

"The damn Nazis wouldn't even do something close to what I plan to do to you, bastard," I muttered to myself, a malicious grin on my face. "I will make you suffer like never before for taking my woman. You can count on that."

We drove several cars to the address Tyler had given us. There was a lot of underbrush, and the place was secluded. It took us many hours, and I was already anxious to get my hands on that damn bastard, but he was elusive and escaped at the first opportunity, leaving me with murderous cravings to chase him to hell itself.

"Will, take charge!" I pointed to the little house where my Margaret should be and went out to hunt down that damn son of a bitch. And when I had him in my hands, he would pay. I just wanted him to beg for mercy, but there was no force in the world that would make me give it to him.

Margaret

The days passed slowly, each one the same and desperate.

It was the same routine; Mike would come and try to seduce me, threaten me, yell at me when he didn't succeed, and then leave furious, slamming the door.

It almost seemed comical. Would he ever tire of it?

I sighed.

I heard cars skidding and noises downstairs in the living room, and I prayed that Mike hadn't returned with another one of his fits of madness.

The noise was getting closer and closer; they knocked down the door, and I sat up abruptly.

"Please, let them come to rescue me, please," I begged in my mind, with my soul on edge.

The seconds were endless until finally the door fell to the ground, and I saw Will, looking for me with his eyes. Thank God.

"Mrs. Margaret," he ran towards me. "For the love of God, how are you?" I looked at him carefully, to make sure he was real. He touched my shoulder. "You're safe," he said softly, squeezing gently. I nodded without words. "I'll take you home."

Oh, dear God, home. I couldn't believe it.

Behind him, three armed men were waiting. I looked at Will again, who was focused on unlocking my handcuffs. He looked at me and grimaced with discomfort and even pain. Did I look that bad?

"Mrs. Ivanov, I'm glad to see you," one of the armed men said.

"Likewise," I said, confused. I didn't even know who he was, but that didn't matter now.

I walked out guided by Will and saw the three men who were guarding me knocked out on the floor and the room full of people. I looked at Tyler, and he smiled at me.

Where was Nikolay?

"Nikolay has moved heaven and earth to find you," my heart clenched with many conflicting feelings; love for him, the fear I had gone through, thinking I wouldn't see him again, the anxiety of not knowing anything. I felt like I was fading, but Tyler held me tight. "I have her, and I'm not letting her go. There won't be any power that will make her go through this hell again. I'm sorry, I should have taken better care of her."

"It wasn't your fault, it was Mike's.”

"And soon he will pay for his crimes, don't worry. Everything is under control, and he will soon meet Nikolay," he looked at me, and I saw him anxious.

"Where is he, is everything okay?"

"Mike escaped, and he went after him," he said with a steely voice, "but the world won't be big enough for him to hide, I'm sure of that."

I stepped out onto the street for the first time in months, the sunlight hit me, and I breathed in the fresh air. I looked around and saw overgrown vegetation everywhere.

"Where are we, Will?"

"We're in Magas, ma'am," we were still in Russia, "we'll take the jet to go home," I nodded immediately, "the security team will take care of those criminals."

We dodged all the cars, and I got into a black one.

"I'm taking Mrs. Ivanov, I'll call you as soon as I land and you update me," another man nodded at his orders.

"Are they all members of the gang?"

"Yes, ma'am, we've been searching for you for months, by orders of Nikolay Ivanov."

I felt somewhat weak when I heard his name. I was desperate to see him.

"How is Nikolay?" he grimaced in pain, and my anxiety heightened.

"He's been through a lot, ma'am, we were all desperate not being able to find you and with no news," I looked at the road, "and how are you?"

"I'm fine now, Will," he smiled and nodded, "I can't wait to get home and forget about this nightmare. I want Mike and his accomplice to pay for all the time they've kept me locked up."

No more truce or considerations with him.

"They will pay, ma'am," he assured with great determination.

I boarded the jet, and after greeting all the crew, I went into the bathroom and took a long shower to wash away the bad memories from my body and clear my mind.

I inspected myself in the mirror; my hair was longer, and I had terrible dark circles, besides being extremely thin.

I sighed.

Nothing that a few days of rest wouldn't cure. They prepared a great meal for me; pepper steak salad with vegetables and potatoes and coffee flan with cream.

I hadn't enjoyed a good meal all this time, and this one tasted like heaven.

Tyler couldn't stop looking at me discreetly, just like Will.

"Did they feed you? Did they hit you?" I could feel his anger from here.

"Yes, they fed me, but I barely touched the food," he winced in pain, "no, they didn't hit me, don't worry. Mike just wanted me to go back to him, to forget about Nikolay," I felt a lump in my throat, "he tried to seduce me, emotionally blackmail me, saying that I was given up for dead and that Nikolay hadn't looked for me all this time.”
