Chapter 263 Chapter 263

Chapter 263 Chapter 263
She decided she would ask Nicholas about it and ask him to lighten the punishment later, when they were alone.
But while Caroline pondered in silence, Olivia’s patience ran completely out. The mask of remorse fell away, revealing her true, spiteful face.
“Ianca, get up! Don’t beg that girl!” Olivia snarled, pulling her friend by the arm with a venomous expression. “You’re so naive! Do you really think she had no idea about this? She wants to destroy us so she can come out on top! Let’s go—there’s no point begging someone who has no heart!”
Olivia turned to the crowd, her eyes bloodshot with rage, and shouted loud and clear: “I’m going to expose this to the world! I want the entire internet to know that Caroline, the ‘little saint,’ is abusing her sugar daddy’s power to bully her classmates! She’s forcing every single one of her former roommates to drop out of college!” I can’t believe she managed to do all this with her own dirty hands!
Olivia’s voice faltered with hysteria. — Expulsion?! On what legal grounds?! Just because we said some nasty things about her online?! The original post wasn’t even ours! And, for all we know, the gossip might very well be true! What’s the crime in gossiping a little about her without knowing the whole story?!
Olivia spat on the floor. — If everyone who badmouthed someone online got expelled, this college would already be empty! Caroline, don’t get so cocky. Your castle is going to fall. We’ll just have to wait and see!
Olivia said this through gritted teeth, turned her back, and stormed down the hallway.
Ianca looked at Caroline, disappointed that her crying hadn’t worked. “Caroline, do you really want to be so cruel to our future?” She made this last attempt at manipulation before running after Olivia.
The crowd of students gradually dispersed, gossiping wildly, as they realized the spectacle was over. Suddenly, the hallway, which had been packed, emptied completely.
Caroline stood motionless, her eyebrows furrowed, and then resumed walking slowly with Tania.
“Geez, I swear to God I had to hold myself back from punching Olivia in the face!” Tania exclaimed, seething with rage on her friend’s behalf. “And she still has the nerve to say she’s going to expose you?! There’s something seriously rotten in that girl’s brain!”
Caroline smiled slightly. “Let her bark. I haven’t done anything against my conscience, so I have no reason to be afraid of her threats.”
“I just think she’s shameless and a sociopath!” Tania still grumbled, unconvinced, as they left the building. “Honestly? She does deserve to be expelled!” Can you imagine being in the same college as a venomous snake like that? If she isn’t expelled, we’ll have to run into her in the hallways! That disgusts me.
Tania seemed to hate the two of them much more than Caroline herself did. She couldn’t stop complaining about the absurdity of the situation.
Caroline listened to her in silence before flashing a helpless smile. — They really are despicable, and I have absolutely no intention of ever looking them in the face again. But… isn’t expulsion a bit excessive just because of some mean comments on a forum?
Tania stopped walking and widened her eyes. “Carol… are you trying to play the merciful ‘White Lotus’ now?”
“...I never intended to act that way,” Caroline defended herself softly.
“Good!” Tania cut in, gesturing with her hands. “Then don’t be nice to snakes! Think about what they tried to do to you; if your wonderful boyfriend hadn’t hacked the IPs and threatened the dean’s office, do you think Olivia would ever have knocked on our door to apologize?
Tania stared at her seriously. “Didn’t you see how insincere Olivia was? The second she was rejected, she showed her claws!” People like her won’t feel any gratitude toward you, even if you intercede and let her stay. In her mind, you’ll seem weak. They’ll become even more obsessed with destroying you and will find other opportunities to get revenge from the shadows. Since they’ll never appreciate your kindness, nip the evil in the bud and let your boyfriend deal with the trash!
Caroline was silent for a moment, absorbing the harsh reality of Tania’s words. — I know. You’re right. But I don’t think Ianca is as wicked as Olivia.
It was Olivia who typed the worst insults. Ianca went along with it, but she was nowhere near the architect of the hatred.
“Ianca is just less courageous. But if you want, you can intercede only for Ianca. Now, in Olivia’s case… don’t you dare feel sorry for her,” Tania declared.
As they talked in the campus courtyard, Caroline’s cell phone began to ring in her purse. She saw it was an unknown number and answered.
A very formal male voice sounded on the other end of the line: “Hello, am I speaking with Miss Caroline Ford?”
“That’s me. Uh, who am I speaking with?”
“I’m the head deliveryman at the Amor de Uma Vida flower shop. A gentleman just ordered a colossal bouquet of 999 roses for you. It’s too large an arrangement for my assistant to carry alone. May I ask which area of the university you’re in right now so we can unload and deliver it?”
A few moments later.
Caroline ended the call. She put her phone down and rubbed her temple, looking genuinely stunned and confused.
A giant bouquet of 999 roses? Why was Nicholas sending her such extravagant flowers again on the same day? Hadn’t he just given her a bouquet early this morning?!
