Chapter 56 Fifty - six
Chapter 56 Fifty - six
"Condition?" I repeat, my voice low with skepticism. I look into my fiancé's eyes, my heart still aching. "That's what you call my desire for wanting you? A condition?"
I still can't believe he actually said that to me.
Seb huffs derisively. "Come on, babe. You know that's not what I mean."
"Then what do you mean, Seb?" I cut him off sharply. "What exactly do you mean by that?"
"I'm just saying... This is unlike you, okay? Lately, your libido has increased tenfold. Now, you're literally acting like a wanton girl," he adds jokingly, a laugh escaping him. And him alone.
I, on the other hand, feel the rage coursing through me. The frustration. The pain. The devastation. I feel all of it.
"A wanton girl?" I retort, no trace of amusement on my face whatsoever. If anything, it's annoyance.
Seb stops laughing when he notices I'm clearly upset. He sighs exasperatedly, as though disappointed I couldn't find the humor in his words. "Baby, that was a joke."
"What kind of joke is that, Seb? That's really insensitive. Do you even realize how that makes me feel?"
He forces a smile, clearing his throat. "I didn't mean to make you feel that way, but at the same time, you need to tell me what's really going on with you."
I yell, "Nothing is going on with me! Stop making it seem like it's such a bad thing that I want you, Seb! You are my fiancé. And I love you! Is it really that abnormal to desire the man I love? I don't understand."
His eyes dart between mine, no trace of remorse etched on his expression. He doesn't even apologize. Instead, he says gently, "I see. So that's what this is about. You just want me."
"Yes, I do," I admit firmly, maintaining eye contact.
He nods thoughtfully. "Well, okay." He steps toward me, placing both hands on my shoulders reassuringly. I relax, staring up at him, "How about tonight when I get back from work? We can work something out. Maybe I could fuck you to your satisfaction... Make you feel wanted again because, baby, I can see you don't feel that way around me anymore."
Finally.
Gosh, finally he gets it.
He's starting to understand just how I feel.
A mix of relief and heartbreak flutters through me, my heart twisting into a knot. Moisture gathers in my eyes as I stare at my fiancé.
Seb asks softly, drawing me out of my thoughts, "Is that okay with you, babe?"
I swallow tightly, nodding in affirmation as I mutter, "Yes."
If he truly fulfills the promise he just made later tonight, then that's definitely more than okay with me.
"Okay, so we're good, right?"
"Yes, we're good, Seb." I wipe the tears leaking from the corners of my eyes.
I sniffle, my focus remaining on him as he caresses my cheeks warmly. "You know I love you, Dahlia?"
I feel butterflies in my belly, my voice softening with affection. "I love you too, Seb."
He leans down and places a soft kiss on my forehead before embracing me. He strokes my back gently. He does everything except apologize for what he said to me earlier.
Nonetheless, I don't mind that he skipped the apology. It's not like it's the first time he's made such an insensitive joke and forgotten to apologize.
When Sebastian eventually pulls away from me, the anger I once felt gradually dissipates as I get lost in his emerald orbs. I love him so much, you have no idea.
And that love I have for him has made it so easy to forgive him whenever he hurts me. Although, not going to lie, whenever I remember what he said, his words still sting. But I ignore the excruciating feeling.
Seb glances down at his wristwatch before pulling away from me completely. "Okay, babe. I got to go. I'm running late."
I stop him abruptly with my question. "Any chance you could eat breakfast before you leave?" I offer. "I could quickly make you something light. You skipped dinner last night."
He shakes his head, "No, no, babe. I really can't wait for that. And I didn't skip dinner yesterday. I ate at work. Ordered takeout," he adds when he notices the shift in my demeanor.
I compose myself and smile. "Okay... Alright then. Maybe you won't skip dinner tonight. I'll make you something delicious, yeah?"
He hesitates before forcing a grin. "Okay, babe. That's okay." He grabs his briefcase from the nearby chair before turning back to me. "But I have to warn you, I don't know when I'll be back tonight. I could come home late, and I wouldn't want you to waste your time cooking for me."
His words prick at my heart, but I maintain my composure. "I'll call you before I start making dinner then." I lick my lips, adding with a sultry smile, "But I'll hold you to your promise of a wild night."
I notice a subtle flicker of awkwardness cross his face, but he masks it with a smile. "Sure, babe. Can I leave now?" he asks eagerly.
I walk over and press a kiss to his cheek before stepping back. I nod. "Sure, you can."
"Bye."
"Bye, Seb," I say as he heads for the exit, closing the door behind him as soon as he steps out.
A sigh leaves me, my chest rising and falling with exasperation. I stand in the same spot for a moment, pondering everything that happened just moments ago.
The lingering memory of Seb's choice of the word condition sends another pang of heartbreak through my chest. A bitter sensation lingers in my mouth, forcing me to swallow the bile rising in my throat.
But I quickly shake off the thoughts, not wanting to overthink.
We made up before he stepped out, so there's no need for this paranoia. Besides, I recall his promise, and a wave of excitement washes over my devastation.
I really can't wait for tonight. I'm looking forward to it, silently praying it doesn't turn out like all the other nights he's promised me something wild only for me to get nothing meaningful in the end.
I have a feeling tonight will be different though.
A happy, mischievous smile spreads across my face as I imagine all the positions Seb will fuck me in tonight. I imagine riding his face, although he's never let me do that before. But perhaps we could really work something out tonight. Try out something new.
I'm grinning from ear to ear as I make my way to the kitchen to prepare myself breakfast.
While I eat my sandwich, my mind is completely occupied with sexual thoughts, and I come to realize Sebastian might be right.
Maybe I'm not normal.
Maybe what I do have is a condition because why the hell do I keep fantasizing about fucking my fiancé?
Is that weird?
Am I weird?
I shake off my thoughts.
I'm taking a few sips of the orange juice in my glass when my phone suddenly rings.
Placing down the glass, I nearly choke when I see Will's name flashing across the screen. He never calls me unless it's for work, an emergency, or he's pissed.
I drop my sandwich and answer swiftly. "Morning, Sir."
"Dahlia, where are you?"
I check the time on my phone, noting that it's not yet 9 AM, although it's almost 9.
I frown. "I'm at home. Why?"
He retorts harshly, "The fucking interview with Mr. Thorne is by 10 AM and you're still at home?!"
I swallow, my pulse racing as I fall mute.
However, Will sneers angrily, shattering my daze. "Get your ass over here right now! Don't be late or I swear to the gods—"
I scramble to my feet, forgetting my sandwich. "I'll be right there, Sir. I'm on my way..."
"You'd better be!"
I hang up and hastily make my way toward the bathroom.
