Chapter 27: Order in the Court

The princes and princesses are shocked because they are all sitting in a chair inside a judicial court. What's even more annoying is that they can't move their bodies because there is something like glue on the chair that they are attached to and they are all struggling to get free.

While the other one who is not a prince, Pearce was shocked sitting in the chair facing everyone, as if he’s the criminal, 'the defendant'.

"All rise," said a voice so everyone got their attention and they were even surprised as if all their bodies were controlled to get up from their seats.

Someone suddenly came in from a door and the man who showed up with blushing blue eyes walked towards a table that was dressed up as a court's judge.

"You may be seated," he said formally and everyone sat down which made them even more surprised because even though it is against their will, someone is really controlling them.

"Good day to you all," another man said so they looked at him but when he entered, everyone was shocked because he looked exactly like the judge himself as if they were 'clones' but this time, he looks like representing an attorney. “For today’s trial, let me introduce myself by saying that I am widely known as the blue shadow and your honor, I am here on this day as an attorney for the Eullenuum Nation wherein this case is the nation versus the defendant Pearce. He is charged with the offense of causing trouble to the Eullenuum Nation ruled by 8 princes and 9 princesses. The trouble he caused started when he arrived at this nation by destroying the helicopter of the Metal Prince, breaking the hearts for each and every royal couple present here today especially with the princess of their Nation, Yani and with the prince of—“

“What the hell are you talking about?!” Fuego replied suddenly.

"Silence!" the blue shadow judge ordered.

"It's okay, your honor," the blue shadow attorney said. “Looks like I need to repeat myself for this dumb juries.”

The attorney faced everyone with a smirk through his eyes.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, today you are in a trial case for our defendant Pearce who caused trouble in your nation and you are all here standing as juries to decide whether our defendant is guilty or not guilty.”

They were surprised by what he said because even though they heard what he was saying earlier, they still can’t seem to believe what is happening. Well except for,

"What if we don't want to take part in your game?" Yani asked.

The attorney looked back at the serious face of Yani. "Oh I'm not playing with you princess," he answered. “Neither one of you,” and he looked at everyone. “Isn't it you were all having a meeting about this? Well I'm here to help as your judge.”

"We didn't talk about having a judge," Yani answered back, still full of seriousness in her face.

"I know that," he answered and slowly, a smirk formed on his face. "But you will change your mind, all of you, as we go on to fulfill this court's case."

It startled Yani when he smirked, not only her, but including every prince and princess present, they all started to get nervous.

“So, based here on the information I have with you…” the attorney proceeded. “…surely of course everyone knows here your name is Pearce, you are 21 years of age, your birthday is on November 12 and back when you were still leaving in the Philippines, you work as a sculptor in the city of Cebu to hide your identity that you can control 8 elements…” he paused and gave a look at Pearce.

"…but why is the family portion here in your paper blank, Pearce?" the attorney asked.

Pearce was speechless and surprised by his question. The princesses and princes looked at each other at that question too.

"Let me rephrase Pearce, do you have a family or—"

"None," he answered before he finished.

Others were surprised by his answer, except Yani who is looking worried now of what might this guy is planning on Pearce.

“Okay. If you don't have a family,” he continued. "Then where were you born?"

Pearce didn’t speak again and just bowed his head.

"Hey Blue shadow," Callie called so both the attorney and the judge looked at her. “Whatever it is that you are planning with our nation or with Pearce himself, we will not participate with you.”

The blue shadow just gave a look.

"Yeah, we will not," Flare agreed. "The moment we are able to break free from this stupid glue chair of yours, I will burn you to death, you freak with the blue eyes!"

The other princes and princesses started to agree with the two princesses and made accusations of not participating with the blue shadow's game.

Pak, pak, pak! The judge's gavel sound.

“Order. Order in the court,” the judge said that somehow silenced most of them, but some kept talking just to stop the case.

"Okay okay. Just shush your mouths and hear out my proposal first,” the attorney said so they were completely silenced.

"So you all want to end this case?" the attorney asked them.

They replied telling him yes.

"Well then, as your judge," the blue shadow said. "I now state that the defendant is guilty!"

Everyone was surprised by what the judge said. "As for his punishment, according to the law, he is sentenced to death!" and hammered his gavel once again as the final act but,

"Wait a minute!" Yani entered immediately. “That is not how the law works.”

The attorney looked at her. "And how can you say that Princess Yani?" he asked.

"Because I've read the whole constitution of this nation," Yani replied.

They were giving back serious stares at each other when the attorney smirked again.

“Don't you think I know that princess? You think I'm dumb not to know that playing as the judge of today's trial?” he sarcastically said so Yani fell silent.

“You all want this trial to be over already so I'm just doing you all a favor. Since you all wanted for me to stop interrogating the defendant to find evidences of why he is accused of being a troublemaker here in your nation, then I find no reason for him not to be guilty. So he's guilty and according to my rules, he is sentenced to death.”

"But why does it have to be death?" Kyrie asked. "The troubles he caused are not that grave enough for him to be put to death."

The attorney this time looked at Kyrie. "How can you be so sure princess?" he asked in a way that startled Kyrie.

"What if the consequences of him breaking apart each and every heart of each prince and princess here would cause damage to your nation as well?"

Everyone fell silent when he asked that. They don't even know how to answer him because he seems to have a point.

"So you see dear princes and princesses," he continued. “I'm doing you all a favor. You should even thank me for doing this but all you do is just complain and you are all so rude for ruining this trial that I prepared all for the sake of your nation.”

Not one said a word.

"Now, can I continue to present my evidences for this trial?" he asked.

"No," a voice said, loud enough for everybody to hear so the attorney looked at the speaker.

"Come again, princess?" he asked.

Yani raised her head to show him an angry and serious face.

"The fact that we are glued in this chair of yours and our bodies are being controlled when to stand and sit, how can we even thank you for doing this to us?!" Yani stated angrily to him. “You are controlling us what to do and what we need to hear and you are controlling what we want to say by threatening us to kill Pearce. We already know the troubles he caused, but he doesn't deserve to die!”

The blue shadow just gave a look.

"She's right," a prince said, so the attorney looked at him.

"We are not your players for this trial that you prepared," Jethro seriously said. “We will decide for Pearce's mistakes all by ourselves. We don't need your help Sir so please, just leave the premises.”

He paused. “But what about the consequences of his action? Are you not afraid of what might happen in the future of your nation if you don’t decide and participate in this trial?”

"Whatever might happen in the future of our nation," Eaux said. “…will be up to us and as princes and princesses of our nation, we will face head on to what might come. So if you really want us to be grateful for what you have done Sir, then I am here to say thanks, but no thanks.”

The blue shadow didn’t speak back.

"We are not princes and princesses for nothing," Zoltar said. “We are all chosen for a reason and only reason to defend our nation and we are prepared to do anything and most especially, to anyone who stands in our way. We will defend our nation, even to the likes of you.”

"Oh wait, hold your horses princes," the attorney said. “I'm not the threat here. I'm not here for the destruction of your nation. I'm just here to help because you see dear royals of Eullenuum, the threat here is him,” at the same time pointing to Pearce. “That's why he's the defendant in this trial today. He's the accused person here.”

They were speechless after he said that.

"I get it princess," the attorney looked at Yani at the same time. "I really do get it that you just don't want the defendant to be killed because you have your empathy with him but you see, here's reality for you all…"

He gave them all a serious look. “You see if you don't get rid of him right here and now, he said so himself, he has a curse in him that wherever place he will go and whoever people he will meet, his intention is just to help but he ends up making the situation worse so if you just want him to leave the nation, rather than to kill him, then you're giving that place or the future people he will meet a threat to make their situation at its worst.”

There he is again, he stated another point that made them quiet again.

“As much as I don’t want to warn you all, dear royals…” he added. “This is reality of the life of the defendant so get your facts straight princes and princesses of Eullenuum. You're not only doing this just for your nation but every life in this world is at stake here.”

Not one talked again after that and because of that,

"Well then," the attorney turned his back on them. "I suppose that with this silence, you all agree for me to continue to proceed with our business, or have you all come to a decision to get me rid of the defendant?"

"No," Yani replied again and because of that, the attorney let out a sigh and looked at her.

"I got your point Sir," Yani replied. “I do understand what you mean but Pearce's curse is not really proven yet. Yes we knew that he caused trouble to our nation by breaking each and every relationship of every prince and princess here but what if all of that is just out of bad luck? If he's really guilty, why does it have to come to the point of killing him?”

The attorney let out a sigh again but he still turned his back on them.

"You know, princess I have a lot of patience in me to understand a situation first but you," he gave Yani a look. “You princess is now starting to get on my nerves. Even though you are this nation's highest ranking princess, you don't have my respect, Yani.”

When he just mentioned her name, Yani was startled again. This time, the attorney faced everyone.

"Since you all insist, then I'll just get to my point and I won't entertain any more questions after this," the attorney said.

"If I want the defendant to be killed if he's guilty…" the judge said so everyone looked at him. “…then he will be killed. You will all actually thank me later on when this trial will go on because I will present some evidence that I know you will all be waiting for.”

Everyone was amazed at the last words the judge said.

"So let me just get it straight to you, dear princes and princesses…"

He smirked at them and gave off an intimidating aura that startled everyone.

“You’re in my court, darlings. My court, my rules. Deal with it.”

Everyone was silent about what the judge said and now, no one intends to speak again because he has already said his point and his true color. They have no choice not only because they could not get out of their seats even though they are doing their best to get out, but because of the aura of this blue shadow. It seems like if you make another one wrong move, it will be the end of you.

Tok! Tak!

Suddenly, everyone got distracted when they heard a noise from the right side of the judge's table.

“Oh. She's already awake,” the attorney said.

They were amazed at what he said.

"Confused are we?" the attorney asked. “Don't know who I'm talking about? Why won't you examine your place correctly to know who's the missing individual? ”

They did it because somehow, they can move their heads even though they are stuck on the chairs. Pearce, being in front of the whole courtroom, already knew from the start who it was.

"Where is she?" Pearce asked so everyone turned their attention to him.

The attorney smirked. "Who Pearce?"

“Where is Elesa?” he asked.

He grinned so evilly after he repeated himself.

“Thought so,” he said…

…and at the same time, the floor on the right side of the judge's table opened and she came out with her body also attached to a chair. Everyone was shocked to find out who was missing…

…while Elesa was shocked by what she is seeing now.
