Chapter 34

Andrew and Christiana both came to an understanding. They both agreed to let Andrew have some father-son time for a while and after that he is to stay away from them for their safety.

He looked at Drew, smiling that he was just like him, also sad by the fact that he had missed so much from his son's life. He didn't know what Drew liked or what he didn't, his favorite color and toys. He would make sure to fill the gap.

That day, he had cleared all his schedule as he used that time with his son whose full name was Andrew Junior Destiny Bernardo. He didn't like the fact that Drew was bearing Christiana's last name instead of his.

He needed to talk to her about that. The reason behind the middle name Destiny had to do with the situation and time Drew was born.

It was destined for him to be born away from his father, so Christiana had explained to him. He and Drew had a lot of fun as he took him to visit the zoo, they rode bicycles together, played games and ate also. Seeing Drew smile and call him Father made him happier than ever.

Drew couldn't be happier having his father by his side just like every other kid. He would have loved if his mother came with them, but she said she had other things to do.

Drew loved the feeling of being in his father's arms, he loved everything he did with his father and he wished his father never had to go away.

"Dad," Drew called Andrew's attention.

"Yes, my boy, what is it?" Andrew asked him.

"Are you going to leave me and mom again?" He asked him. Andrew was wowed by Drew's intelligence. Not every kid at this age would say what they have in their mind without holding back a few words due to fear.

"Not at all. I am not going to leave you and mummy. Daddy is going to be with the both of you forever," Andrew assured him with a smile on his face.

Drew smiled, "Thanks so much daddy, I love you."

"I love you too," Andrew replied.

Andrew felt his phone ringing in his pocket as soon as he parked the car in front of Christiana's apartment.

He took the phone and answered the call. He smiled hearing the good news he had just received from his private investigator.

Finally, he got what he needed.

He came down from the car, walked to the other side of the car and opened it, removing the seat belt from Drew and carrying him out of the car. Drew was already asleep. It felt nice having his child in his arms.

When he got into Christiana's apartment, he heard faint laughter and was curious who that was and who Christiana was talking to. His heart sank as he heard a male voice.

Could he be her boyfriend? Was she engaged? He had different thoughts within him which made me sad and hurt. It seems she had moved on. He felt pain in his chest, similar to the ones he felt when she left him five years ago.

His heart ached, the fact she moved on from him so easily broke him. He began to doubt if she ever really loved him to easily let other men in her life.

He didn't want his presence known and didn't want to see whoever she was talking to, so he gently put Drew on the couch, kissing him lightly on the forehead. He used a blanket to cover him and walked away.

Christiana began to worry seeing that the time was past nine and no call from Andrew yet. She walked to the living room, surprised to see Drew on the couch. When did he come in? She wondered. Why didn't Andrew make his presence known?

"Drew is back? Where is Andrew?" John asked. John had just arrived this evening. He wanted to surprise Christiana but got surprised when she told him Andrew knew of everything.

They chatted and she opened up about her feelings when she saw Andrew, he teased her. She told him that Andrew promised to stay away if that means their protection and John wanted to meet Andrew. It's been long since he saw his friend.

John chatted with Christiana the whole he waited for Andrew. He changed his line after relocating to Trinidad and Tobago so that Andrew wouldn't be able to locate him. He knew he must have hurt his friend by his actions, but it was for the best at that time.

"Where is Andrew?" He asked again looking around for him.

"I think he left," her heart sank knowing that he came but didn't let her know. Isn't this what she wanted? but he should have announced his presence before leaving she thought.

She wanted to call but restrained herself from doing so. She picked Drew from the bed and moved him to her room.

Emerald was shocked by the rude words that came out of Vanessa's mouth. Vanessa had returned to America last night and had called for her.

"Are you talking to me that way?" Emerald asked once more, mortified. Vanessa couldn't care less. "I won't say much but I promise you, if I don't have Andrew, I will expose your secret to the world!" Vanessa hurled. She wasn't joking when she said those words, she was really serious with it.

Emerald became numbed, wasn't it because of Vanessa that she had done so many despicable things, it was because of Vanessa that she had ruined the relationship she had with her family and now that same Vanessa wants to use that against her.

"What really happened?" Emerald asked, trying to calm her down, not wanting to say irrational words.

"Andrew happened! That boy is just so stubborn that he promised to put me in jail if I didn't leave his house!" She barked clearly deteriorated After leaving Andrews house that day, she went there again another day and he had made sure to tell her what would happen to her if she kept on invading his privacy.

"He won't accept that Christiana or whatever her name was, is no longer in his life and move on!" She clapped. Her hair was messy, it looked as if she slept with her makeup on as her eyeliner were smeared.

"Calm down, I will get to the bottom of this and get back to you and I promise you, Andrew will be yours either willingly or unwilling." Emerald assured her but Vanessa wasn't moved.

"If he isn't mine Emerald, be sure that nothing will ever be yours!" Vanessa threatened, walking off. The door slammed hard that it made Emerald flinched. Andrew wouldn't ruin her neither will Vanessa and her secret will forever be kept safe.

After an hour of standing idle, Emerald phone finally rang, she picked up the call with haste, trying to sound confident even though she was scared within her.

"We finally found the location of Christiana, she's in Sydney, Australia. And there's also more."

The caller ended the call and after some seconds, the Emerald phone beeped. She unlocked her phone and the images she saw shocked her.

Andrew was with Christiana! The images were taken back in Andrew's house when he and Christiana were kissing. She was shocked, she had always had people watching Andrew for the last four years since he left home. She knew within herself that Andrew would get a hold of Christiana so she decided by that time, she would complete her job by ending Christiana's life.

She needed to get rid of Christiana before Vanessa found out. She knew Vanessa wouldn't be happy to know of all of this.
