Chapter 163: Wanted by the Alpha Brothers

After breakfast Asher went to his office and I took the three kids out to the garden. The girls were in their bouncers with shades over them and Connor was running around like he always was. Burning off that werewolf child energy that they all had.

"Are you alright?" Zara asked from behind me.

"Yeah. I'm alright." I say turning back to Connor.

"I've known you long enough now to know that you're lying to me." She says sitting down beside me.

"I killed two people with my bare hands yesterday. It's one thing killing while you're a wolf. But doing it with a knife in human form, that's something completely different." I explained.

"I can imagine. Have you told Asher about that?" She asked.

"No. I can't. I need things to get back to normal around here. And I don't want him fussing over me all the damn time." I say.

"Yeah. I get that. If you need to talk, then you know where to find me." She says.

"Thanks. I know that." I say.

Asher soon came out to find me outside with the kids and he sat on the ground behind me and wrapped his arms around me.

"When do we need to go?" I asked.

"In about an hour." He says.

"Do we really have to do this? I mean, the witch's council. We have never had anything to do with wolves." I say.

"Apparently there is something that they want to tell us. They didn't sound surprised or hostile towards me so it might not be that bad." Asher says.

"Let's hope not." I say looking back at Connor and Asher started rubbing my back.

"What's wrong? I know that there's something else wrong apart from the meeting." Asher says looking really concerned.

"I'll be alright. I just need a couple of days. I didn't sleep too well last night." I say.

"Of course not. You've got twin girls." He says.

"It's not that. I mean, I kept seeing their faces. I kept feeling what it was like to slice that knife into them." I say.

"You killed someone in human form. Why the hell didn't I realize it?" He asked.

"Because I didn't want you to. But I can't get it out of my head. It's so different from when you're a wolf." I say.

"Yeah. Because the animal takes over and protects the human part of you. I didn't even think that it might affect you like this. I guess we were too preoccupied with everything last night." He says.

"Like I said, I'll be alright. I just need time. Come on, we better get ready for this meeting." I say.

So we took the kids inside and we had to feed the babies and put them in their bassinets and I got Connor a snack before I went upstairs and got dressed into something pretty respectable.

I went back downstairs and Freya was holding Connor and I walked over and I kissed Connor on the side of the face.

"Mommy and daddy will be back really soon. We just have to go and meet someone quickly. You be a good boy for Auntie Freya." I say.

"Yes momma." He says. And Asher walked out of the office and also said goodbye to Connor and Cole and Beau were with him.

"What are they doing?" I asked.

"We're coming. Axel is meeting us outside." Beau says.

"You can't be serious." I say.

"We're very serious. We're not letting you go there alone. You can bet that they won't be there alone. Witches and wolves haven't gotten along for centuries." Beau says.

"Alright then. But can you guys wait outside? I don't want you guys to think that we're trying to pull anything." I say.

"I've already told them that they are not coming in." Asher says.

"Alright." I say. So we all left the Packhouse and headed to the waiting SUV.

Asher was driving and I was in the passenger seat and the others were in the back. And we drove to the abandoned property that was just outside our territory. It only took us 20 minutes to get there and we were a little late because I had to deal with the kids before we left.

So Asher and I got out of the car and headed for the building while the others stayed outside to make sure that there was nothing else going on and pretty much just acting like bodyguards.

Asher held my hand the entire time and we walked into the building and we were confronted with three women sitting at the table. The women in the middle gestured for us to sit down on the other side of the table. So we did.

I was definitely nervous when faced with these women but I couldn't get any read on them being angry or having any animosity towards us.

"My name is Ethan. I am the head of the witch's council." She introduced.

"It's nice to meet you. I'm Alpha Asher and this is Luna Ivy." Asher introduced.

"Oh yes. Neither of you two need an introduction. You're famous everywhere." She says.

"Yes. I suppose we are." Asher says.

"Luna Ivy. It is especially nice to finally meet you. I've never met a white wolf before." She says.

"From what I heard they only come around every few hundred years." I say.

"That's right. And you are the lucky chosen one." She says. And I let out a deep breath and looked at Asher.

"Of course. You're right. We're not here to discuss that. We're here to talk about Abby and her daughter Cassandra." Ethal says.

"We just need you to understand that they attacked our pack. Cassandra made a deal and then reneged on that deal and then attacked us. We didn't have a choice. They were going to kill thousands of people." I say getting straight to our defense. But she put her hand up to stop me.

"We aren't here to chastise you. We're here to thank you." She says. And Asher and I looked at each other in confusion.

"You want to thank us?" Asher asked.

"We've been trying to find Abby and Cassandra for years. They went rogue and left the council. They've been doing unspeakable things all over the country for the last 5 years but every time we got anywhere near them, they had already moved on. You did what you had to do and you have saved more than just your pack. But thousands of other people. They were out of control. They let the dark magic in and let it control them." Ethan explained.

"I really don't believe this." I say.

"I know that you never thought we would be thanking you for what you did. But it was brave and it was something that we couldn't do. They needed to be stopped. And you did that. That's why I was so glad when Asher called. I wanted this meeting so that I could thank you in person for doing what we couldn't do. They knew our ways and knew how to hide from us." Ethal explained.

"Well, anything to be of service. I guess." Asher says, still confused.

"We are sorry that it had to come to that. I'm not proud of it. I'm not proud of any of it." I say.

"I know you're not dear. You wouldn't kill unless you absolutely needed to. We have learnt so much from you over the years. You are quite famous. And it was a last resort. But again, thank you for stopping them before they could hurt anyone else." Ethan says.
