Chapter 89: The Unforgiving Luna

Raiden stepped back in shock, the dagger still lodged in my chest as blood dripped down.

"W-why? Why didn't you move out of the way?!" He whispered.

"Because I figured it would be easier to talk to you this way" I smiled through the blood that poured out of my mouth as i leaned against the wall for support.

"You--" he looked almost speechless for a while and... hurt "Is that how much of a joke I am to you?"

"What was I supposed to do?"

"You idiot!!" He grabbed me, his jaws clenching tightly "You should've fought me! It was all you had to do but you--"

"I gave up. Because you'll be the one getting hurt Instead. Isn't that what you wanted? For me to kill you." I said the sad truth I had seen in his eyes "You must have done something so terrible that you feel this much guilt but trust me, Raiden--." Blood spluttered out of my mouth as I felt the pain from the dagger getting more intense. I lost my balance but Raiden helped me sit and I held his hands, ignoring the beads of sweat that broke out on my forehead and the taste of blood that flooded my mouth.

"Trust me--" I breathed "We can find a way to fix everything. We can make everything go back to its rightful place"

"H-how?" He whispered "Grasyon is watching us right now"

I wasn't surprised. I had already noticed the hidden camera behind us.

"That's not a problem." I said, my breathing was becoming much more harder and painful "Pretend to stab me in the neck. Go for the kill. I will avoid you and run up and you can chase me to a Blindspot"

"Okay..." We held each other's eyes "I'm sorry"

Raiden stood up, his claws elongating as he raised them and brought it down on me, aiming to slash my neck.

I grabbed his hand, holding it away from me as I pushed him away with a groan.

He slammed into the wall and I stood up, running up the stairs with a dagger lodged in my chest. I quickly found a corner and hid, noticing the blood that poured out more due to my vigorous movements.

I was sweating profusely by now and the pain was eating me up.

I tried to remove the dagger from my chest but Raiden arrived just then.

"No" he shook his head as he rushed forward "Don't take it out"

He helped me into a room at an opposite corner and laid me down on a bed as he examined the cut.

"I'm not going to die from this" I said to him when I noticed the worry lines on his forehead.

"Of course I know that. But you've lost too much blood"

"It can only slow me down-ah--"

Raiden skillfully removed the dagger and threw it aside. There was a huge cut on my chest and since there was nothing to apply, he cut a part of the sheets and pressed it down on my wound to stop the blood.

"We need to leave" I told him "Grayson would send his men to check soon and the blood trails will lead them straight here"

Raiden nodded in agreement.

I could feel my wolf trying his best to heal me by now but it was slow since the cut was a huge one. Still, it'd help.

"Wait" I stopped Raiden just when he was about to pull the door open. My ears strained as I listened to the sounds outside "They're here"

"I'll deal with them"

"No. Let me deal with them" I insisted.

"Not with your condition, Kieran. Allow me to fix this--"

I took out the drive from my pocket and handed it over to him.

"You just need to play it in front everyone before he manages to get the throne. You'll know what to do from there"

"Is this it?" Raiden flipped the drive between his fingers "Is this what will destroy him?"

"Most likely..." I answered "I already have everything ready"

I swallowed when Raiden suddenly looked at me with his suspicious gaze.

"What is it that you truly want to achieve? I'm sure it's not the throne"

Silence passed for a few seconds and my jaws clenched tightly, a menacing glint passing through my eyes as I looked away from him, memories I had suppressed countless times came rushing through my mind and I let them, feeling the rage I didn't let my self feel before envelope my whole being and my lips parted.

"Revenge. I'm going to kill everyone tonight"

....

Hazel's Pov.

"I heard the bitch is here"

I stared at the queen as she made her entrance. Her hostile gaze was fixed solely on me.

This time, she didn't try to mask her ugly expression or the look in her eyes as she approached me with Larissa following behind as always.

"I had hoped I wouldn't get to see your face again" she said, stopping in front of me.

"Then you shouldn't have come to see me if you despised my face so much"

"You can still talk huh?" Her lips curved as she turned towards Grayson, "Son, why don't you let her watch it?"

"Of course, I was just about to show her" Grayson look all excited as he held my gaze then nodded to one of the men around and they turned on the TV.

I didn't know what they had to show me but my heart pounded in my chest. I could feel that something was wrong.

I felt a stab in my chest that made me lose my balance. The pain was intense and I clutched my chest tight.

'Kieran is hurt' my wolf informed me and I released a breath and raised my head to see the TV.

It was Raiden.

And Kieran.

I gasped in shock when Raiden stabbed Kieran with a dagger.

W-why would he do that? I thought he was with us.

"Kieran..." Tears pooled in my eyes as I whispered his name. "No..."

I felt a continuous stab in my heart. It never stopped even as my body trembled.

Ava cried behind me but I couldn't even look at her. I looked around me instead.

And they were all smiling.

Enjoying the pain I felt.

As if it brought them so much joy.

Grayson was pulling off his clothes and getting dressed in another. Something more traditional as I guessed it was for the coronation.

I couldn't care less about all of that. I set my eyes on the door and when I felt it was time, I rushed towards it.

I needed to go to Kieran. It was all I thought about.

But Larissa grabbed my hair just before I reached the door.

"Where do you think you're going?"

I gave a slap to her face the moment she let me turn.

"How dare you try to stop me?"

Five guards approached us and they dragged me by the hair, away from Larissa.

I tried to fight back. I tried hard but they were not like the average guards I had just fought off.

They were able to predict every move and easily subdue me as they dragged me to the chair I had just released Ava from.

"You want to leave?" Grayson looked at me as the queen helped him put his hands through his clothes "It won't be that easy, 'Freya'".

"You'll die, Grayson. I promise you, you'll die a horrible death. One that is befitting of an animal!!"

"At least it'd be befitting" he laughed as if it was funny but the Queen didn't find it funny.

She grabbed my neck tight, making sure her nails dug into my skin as I felt the blood trip down.

"Who do you think you are? You'll be the one who'll die, Hazel. You'll be slaughtered like a lowly animal and your remains would be given to the rogues" it was as if something had clicked in her head as she pressed harder on my neck and I felt the life in me slowly seeping away.

As I closed my eyes, I could see her memories. The one's with Kieran in it.

I held her hands to myself, wanting to see all of it this time even if I was going to die.

The queen was holding and dragging a little boy out, anxiously looking out for people approaching but there was no one.

They walked for quite sometimes, the little boy was quiet. His droopy eyes facing the ground as he got dragged. It was as if he knew what was coming and he accepted it.

They stopped in front of a well and the Queen ordered him to enter inside.

The little boy looked up at her. Even as a child, his dark eyes was quite frightening.

He glanced back at the well and didn't utter a word. He also didn't move from his position.

"You're just as stubborn as your mother" she uttered with a scoff, a malicious glint in her eyes as she suddenly psuhed the boy inside the well. It took a while for me to hear the bump but there was no scream like I expected.

It was quiet. So quiet that I thought he was dead.

The queen thought thesame as she approached the well to look inside. The bloody sight that met her made her step back in shock but there was no remorse in her eyes.

Instead, she looked around one more time then covered up the well.

I felt my heart tighten at this sight.

He suffered so much in her hands. He suffered too much.

How was he able to continue living with them. How did he even survive?

I didn't know how he got out of the well as the scene changed again.

This time, the deceased King and a few others were there.

They formed a circle around a person.

It was little Kieran. There was something happening to him.

Something like his first shift. But there was no one by his side. There was no one to help him through the process.

Instead they just watched him, with guards around that were meant to restrain him if he got out of control.

The process was much more painful than how most werewolves transformed. The sound of his bone shifting and reforming felt painful to my ears and I felt a tear drop when he finally did it. All by himself.

But there was a drop dead silence around him when he opened his completely dark-dark eyes.

That was because he hadn't transformed into a wolf but... a Lycan. A beast.

Even I shivered when I met those untamed eyes. There were familiar yet different in a way.

"That bastard!" I heard the queen utter "He's not even the King's son?!" she sneered.

The Lycan was calm which was unusual as the first shift, they normally go berserk but he seemed like he was in control.

Now it was time to shift back but of course they didn't let him.

The King turned away from him and I noticed how his fist clenched as he gave an order to one of the guards before leaving.

Very soon, a big net was brought forward and they were able to trap the Lycan in it and place it in a cage.

My heart broke when I saw how he was treated by the people he believed to be his family members.

He wasn't even fighting back or refusing whatever they threw at him. He was call through it which made me wonder how he had gotten to this point.

The scene changed again and this time, I was surprised that I finally got to see her.

The Queen was watching a young woman staring at Kieran from afar.

She was dressed nobly, her beauty unmatched, her elegance was something that came from the blood. It was all natural.

She was like an enchanting angel that could draw anyone towards her. Her eyes seemed so innocent and pure as she quietly stared at Kieran sitting by himself and staring ahead of him as if he was lost in his thoughts.

I could tell from her loving gaze that it was her. Kieran's mother.

Someone came to sit next to him then but Kieran didn't even look up at him.

From his features, I could tell he was Raiden. He quietly stayed next to Kieran without making a sound as they stared ahead, as if there was something really interesting they were watching together.

The queen huffed at this scene and it changed once again.

This time, the queen was watching Kieran holding a dead body in his arms.

It was his mother.

He kneeled and had her head on his laps and it was the first time I saw an emotion in the little kid's eyes.

He cried.

His eyes were red very quickly but something else was bubbling inside him.

Anger.

It didn't stop. It continued to build up until finally, it burst and he let out a cry for his dead mother.

I opened my eyes with a gasp from both I and the Queen as she quickly detached herself from me and stepped away, shock filling her eyes.

"What in the world was that?!"

Grayson stepped Forward, his eyes meeting mine as he told her "She just invaded your memories"
