Chapter 85: The Unforgiving Luna

When we were done running around, it was almost night time. We went back to our separate rooms after saying our goodbyes.

It felt so refreshing to have a run with our wolves and also spending some time with him. I felt closer to him in a way.

Kieran didn't try to reach out for me and I wondered if he was mad after my outburst earlier.

He might think that I didn't care enough for him which was not true.

I stood outside for a while and didn't dare go in. I could feel his presence and could tell he was in there but... it was just hard to push the door open.

"Come inside, Hazel" I jumped when I heard his voice then looked around me. He was nowhere. It had sounded from my mind.

A mindlink?

Ah... I was scared for nothing.

"Are you mad?" I asked through the mindlink we now shared and he didn't reply until after a while.

"No"

It didn't sound believable at all.

"You seem scared. I don't bite"

"I'm not scared" I said back, took in a deep sigh and pushed the door open.

It was dark inside and I could only see his shadow as the blue and red light that illuminated a part of the room danced around him.

He was chest naked and looking out of the window with a wine glass in hand.

It seemed as if he just had a shower as his hair seemed damp and were all over his face when he glanced back at me.

He didn't say a word.

I quietly made my way to his side and from here, I could see what he was looking at.

The Moon.

It was a half moon but it looked so beautiful with stars covering the remaining half as it illuminated the night sky.

"Did you have fun?" He asked me. His voice, a rich baritone.

"Yes" I nodded and it turned quiet for another minute.

"Can I have that?" I stared at the wine glass he was holding and he raised it up to give it a glance but didn't hand it over.

"I'm not sure you can handle this" he took a gulp from the glass and continued looking out.

I released a breath then stepped in front of him as I stood on my tip toes and kissed him. I drank from his mouth then stepped away to my earlier position with a sigh,

"Mm... Tastes good" it was a lie. It tasted very terrible but I couldn't show that on my face.

Kieran just looked at me for a while. If he was shocked by my behavior earlier, then he didn't show it.

"We need to talk" he said.

"I know"

"About Grayson--"

"No" I stopped him "Let's not talk about him. I... I erhmm... I'm sorry... about earlier--"

"Why are you sorry?" He turned his face so he could look at me "You only said what was going through your mind. It's better than bottling it up and letting it eat you from the inside"

"Still--"

"No, Hazel. I'd prefer you bursting out like that than keeping everything to yourself."

A relieved look passed through my eyes and I licked my lips, looking at him. I couldn't help but notice that something was wrong... with him maybe.

"If you're not angry at me then why do you seem so moody?"

No answer.

"You look as if you want me to go away from you. Is there something wrong?"

"Answer me, Kieran!" I huffed when he still gave me no reply. I was going to turn around and leave.

But I couldn't.

I ended up hugging him from behind,

"I love you" I confessed "I love you very much, Kieran"

One second passed.

Two.

Three.

He turned around to face me and the next moment, his lips captured mine in a heated kiss.

He tasted like the wine he just drank but not so terrible anymore as he pushed me against the wall, pinning my wandering arms above me and breaking the kiss.

Our ragged breath fanned against our faces, turning the little space between us into an oven as we stared at each other.

"I was only trying to control myself"

"From what?" I asked.

"From this" his eyes grew dark immediately as he kissed my neck, pressing me hard against the wall and nibbling on my skin with his canines.

He pulled back before he could hurt me and his eyes were back to normal.

"Finn is unstable right now. I need time to calm him down" he said hurriedly as his eyes flickered from black to normal a few times.

So that was why.

"Why is he unstable. Is it something that I did?"

"No" Kieran swallowed as he answered "Someone is causing it"

Someone? I wondered who it was.

Who was so strong enough to tamper with Kieran's beast.

I knew my presence was making it worse, seeing how Kieran's claws scratched the wall on my sides as he breathed heavily.

His eyes were black again and he turned away from me, a slight growl leaving his chest.

I held his shoulder and made him look at me again, knowing it was his wolf out now when I saw how his eyes remained a pitch black, staring at me with aggression.

"Hi, Finn" I smiled and it growled, it's clawed hands on my waist but they weren't hurting me.

'I can help' Kira said and I let her. She gained control quickly.

All she did was bringing our faces closer, until our nose touched and she patted his head gently, whispering to him.

"Be calm. Forget about everything and just focus on my voice"

She continued whispering like that until I felt his claws retract, Kieran's eyes returned to normal and I gained back control.

Kieran breathed out as his lips stretched into a smile. "That was easy" he said. "Conrad will be mad"

"Who is Conrad?"

"A devil" he answered.

Atop the roof of a huge mansion, laid a man. His eyes were glowing a bright red and he seemed concentrated. An evil smirk hanging on his lips.

But it soon changed.

His eyes lost it's glow and his smirk disappeared as he released a breath.

"Ah, Kieran. Today is your lucky day so I'll let you go"

Footsteps approached him just then and he opened his eyes to see that he was surrounded on the roof.

"Williams" he called out and chuckled. "I was doubtful at first but your Alpha actually found her"

"Kieran has a message for you"

The man nodded and Williams continued.

"He wants you to stop your cheap tricks and leave him alone. He will never join you no matter what you do"

"I know" the man sighed. "Tell him I will do as he says"

Williams was surprised at his reaction. He looked like he would really stay away which hasn't happened before.

Hazel's pov.

Kieran carried me in his arms and placed me on the bed as he hovered above me.

"Have you decided yet?" He asked, pinning both arms of mine above me "Do you still want to go back to the palace?"

"No" I answered and Kieran paused his wandering eyes so they could focus on me "I want to be with you"

"Me?" His lips raised in a smirk "Are you sure you won't regret it"

"I know it"

He stared at my eyes then moved down towards my nose and finally, my lips.

"You have no idea how much that means to me, Hazel" he breathed, his fingers grazing my arms down. "I didn't think you would choose me and I didn't expect to hear those words from you"

I shivered under him, breathing heavily as I looked at him "What words?"

"The ones you said a while ago"

"That I want to be with you?"

"No. The other one"

"I love you?" It was a question but he took it as a statement and only realized his trick when it was too late.

"I love you more, Hazel. More than you can ever imagine" he crashed his lips on mine, releasing my hands from his hold as I let them go around his neck.

He still tasted like that wine but I couldn't seem to get enough. I wanted more. More and more of him.

His lips trailed down my neck and his mouth found his mark on my neck.

He stroked the mark with his tongue and I moaned and shivered uncontrollably, thrashing under him and scratching his back hard until it drawed blood.

My breath turned heavy and I almost could not take the waves upon waves of pleasure I felt.

His lips claimed mine once again and when he pulled back, his eyes seemed different.

Someone tried to mindlink him. It seemed important so Kieran let it.

His eyes turned hazy for a while and when it turned normal again, I could see the surprise and shock in there as he stared at me.

"What's wrong?" I hurried to ask. A bit worried.

"Grayson" he whispered "He suddenly pushed the coronation ceremony to tonight."

"Tonight?!" My eyes widened in shock and I sat up in disbelief "How is it possible?"

"I don't know" he said "But I think he's doing this to lure you out"
