Chapter 96: Bringing the Beauty Home
Rebecca's usually gentle façade completely tore down today.
She stared at Darian, feeling particularly uncomfortable as she asked, "Have you ever loved me?"
Nicole wanted to sneer at this.
After insulting someone like that, what's the point of asking that?
Even if she said she loved him, wouldn't she be disgusted to marry him?
No one would believe it.
"Nicole!" Darian was already at his limits.
Nicole didn't know why he was yelling at her; it's not like she was the one who provoked him.
He was furious, "As a wife, are you letting a shameless woman flirt with your husband?"
She allowed it. Nicole wanted to nod.
But seeing his angry look, she tactfully said to Rebecca, "Miss Rebecca, it seems I need to remind you again that you're already married. If you can't figure this out, I think I need to talk with your husband."
Rebecca's eyes turned red with hatred as she looked at Nicole, "Just because you married him doesn't mean you're his wife."
"I am his legal wife, a relationship recognized by the law. If I'm not his wife, then are you?" Nicole chuckled, "Even after stripping naked and climbing into his bed, he was still indifferent to you. Shouldn't you reflect on yourself? You are beautiful, but perhaps worthless in his eyes."
Although Nicole didn't use any foul language, she had already made Rebecca turn pale with anger, looking extremely ugly.
"Miss Rebecca, since we all have our own families, let's not dwell on the past. Let's go on our own ways and live well." Nicole walked to the door, gesturing to leave. "Take care; no need to see me off."
Rebecca was about to explode.
She glared fiercely at Darian, who had calmed down, then turned and walked to the door. She stared sharply at Nicole, "The humiliation I suffered today will be repaid twofold one day."
Nicole's eyebrow furrowed slightly, successfully fueling Rebecca's hatred toward her.
She actually wanted to cheer Rebecca on and encourage her to do better.

There probably wouldn't be another situation like this in the future.
Rebecca was essentially blacklisted by Darian, and there was no need to pin any hopes on her.
Thus, it was clear that in his heart, she wasn't his ideal woman.
Nicole closed the door and looked at the troublemaker.
Darian had calmed down, but his gaze toward her was somewhat strange.
"If you're okay, I'll have Uncle Leonard or Zack come take care of you." Nicole had put away her aggressive demeanor, now showing a mix of apprehension and strength.
Darian was quite satisfied with her performance just now, even though it was under his pressure.
"You're my wife," he said with slight exhaustion, "Don't try to shift the blame onto others."
Nicole wanted to hit him.
At that moment, Mike knocked on the door and looked at her, saying, "I'm here to check on the patient."
She instinctively went and stood in front of Darian, gesturing for him to put on his mask.
She then smiled at Mike, "Thank you."
Darian saw Nicole's smile from behind, the way they looked at each other conveying something. He stared sharply at Mike.
A talented and gentle man; indeed, someone who could make a woman's heart flutter.
"Is Dr. Mike acquainted with my wife?" Darian reached out to pull Nicole away and asked.
Mike didn't like him calling Nicole that.
It grated on Nicole's ears, as well.
"Nicole and I are alumni. We've known each other for six years," Mike took Darian's temperature. "The fever has subsided. If you feel fine, you can be discharged tomorrow morning."
Darian's eyebrows raised slightly, "Being alumni is good."
It had been six years, and they were still just alumni.
"Yes, Nicole and I studied abroad in M Country together. Thanks to being alumni, we could take care of each other and not feel lonely in unfamiliar places," Mike spoke calmly, as if casually chatting.
Darian looked at Nicole, who was staring at her toes.
She wasn't oblivious, sensing the tension between them.
Did men also have such intense competitions?
Mike said he liked her and was willing to wait for her, so she could understand he was sincere and only wanted to express his feelings.
But what was Darian up to?
"Is Dr. Mike married?" Darian asked casually.
"Not yet."
"Do you need me to introduce some women to you?"
"No need. I have someone in my heart," Mike put his hands in his lab coat pockets and looked directly at Darian.
"So, you're not in a relationship yet?" Darian's eyes had a hint of disdain. "That sort of thing isn't usually mutual, and it may not necessarily work out in the end."
"As long as I'm sincere and we understand each other, success is only a matter of time," Mike remained calm and open.
Darian's eyebrows slightly furrowed as he coldly chuckled, “Dr. Mike is truly a sentimental person."
"I've missed her once, and this time, no matter how difficult it is, I'll wait for her," Mike looked at Nicole, sincerely confessing.
The more Nicole listened, the more frightened she was. She realized she had made a mistake by staying here, feeling extremely uncomfortable now.
Darian grabbed her hand, feeling how cold it was as he suppressed his emotions inside. "Darling, as a woman, if you heard Dr. Mike's words, would you be touched?"
Nicole's hand trembled, feeling all the pressure on her.
She forced a smile, "Yes."
"Such touching words, but Dr. Mike's loved one isn't here to hear them. If I see her in the future, I'll definitely speak well of you to her," Darian suddenly pulled Nicole's hand, making her lose balance and fall against his chest.
Darian then hugged her waist and chuckled lightly, "Even if you're so moved, you can't be so eager to embrace me while others are present. You might make Dr. Mike feels bitter; after all, he's still single."
Nicole was afraid of the indulgent yet helpless tone in his voice.
She wanted to scold Darian for his shamelessness; how could he say such things? Trying to struggle up, Darian didn't trouble her as he only held her hand tightly with their fingers intertwined. He didn't let her escape.
Nicole was so anxious that her ears turned red.
Seeing this, Mike knew Darian was doing it on purpose.
His mouth twitched slightly as he said, "Your body is still weak, so rest well. Also, avoid taking strong medications, as they can harm your body."
Darian's whole demeanor changed.
Nicole, being closest to him, also felt his suppressed anger.
Weakness and medication; these two words linked together had extraordinary implications.
"Rest well. If you need anything, call me." Mike nodded slightly at Nicole and left first.
As the door closed, Darian took off his mask and stared at her sinisterly.
