Chapter 94: He is so useless.

After a long time of not seeing these two, Nicole showed no emotions when she saw them again.

"My brother has always been healthy, why did he suddenly get a fever and end up in the hospital?" Araminta questioned Nicole.

Rebecca gazed affectionately at Darian, making others think she was Darian's wife.

Nicole replied calmly, "No matter how good the body is, it's still mortal flesh, not made of iron."

"How dare you try to argue! It's because of you that my brother wasn't taken care of properly," Araminta accused Nicole.

Araminta never liked Nicole, in her eyes, only Rebecca could be her sister-in-law.

Unfortunately, Rebecca got married.

Otherwise, their relationship would have been solid, with a harmonious family life.

Nicole had enough of being mistreated by Darian, and now Araminta was picking on her, she feared Darian but wouldn't indulge Araminta.

"Is your brother a three-year-old child who needs care? If you like taking care of him so much, you do it." Nicole stepped back, giving up her place. "I'll leave him to you, you can take care of him, I'm going back to work."

With that, she retreated to the door.

Araminta was about to tell her to leave when the person on the bed started retching.

Darian turned his head and vomited, Rebecca, who was closest, quickly moved away.

However, some of what Darian vomited still splattered on her skirt.

The smell of alcohol in the stomach all night was nauseating when vomited out, Rebecca looked pale as she stared at her soiled clothes, her disgust was evident, and she rushed to the bathroom to wash.

Nicole stood there unmoving, looking at Araminta who was covering her nose and mouth and avoiding to the side, she said, "You accused me of not taking care of your brother, now it's your turn to take care to him."

How could Araminta possibly take care of a vomiting patient?

Even if it was her brother, she would still be repulsed.

"You're his wife, why should I take care of him?" Araminta kept her distance. "I'm telling you, if you don't take care of my brother well, you better leave now!"

Nicole wanted to laugh.

Darian actually had a sister like this.

She pretended to leave. "You're right, I can't take care of him, I'll leave it to you."

"Stop right there!" Araminta grabbed her and wouldn't let her go.

Nicole stared at that hand, losing her patience. "Let go."

Rebecca also came out of the bathroom, she quietly advised Araminta, "Let's leave first." The smell in the ward was unbearable.

Araminta didn't want to stay either, she forcefully shook off Nicole's hand. "Since you're someone's wife, do your duty as a wife." With that, she slammed the door and left.

Nicole smiled speechlessly.

She looked at Darian, who still hadn't opened his eyes, and resignedly took a mop to clean up his mess.

She opened the window to air out the smell.

She walked to the bedside and saw some stains at the corner of Darian's mouth, she took a tissue and wiped it clean for him, couldn't help but mutter, "Rebecca claims to love you. When you vomited all over the floor, her looked disgusted, and I just wanted to beat her up."

Nicole was used to this kind of thing, many people get sick and end up in the hospital, their partners often show impatience, unwillingness to care, and eager to break up immediately, then ignore them.

But then again, Rebecca was already married, even if she didn't dislike him, she had no duty to take care of him.

"People's hearts." Nicole, knowing Darian couldn't hear her, sat by the bed and sighed as she looked at his face. "If you weren't disfigured, Rebecca would probably be with you. But with Rebecca's temperament, forget it, let's not gossip behind her back. But if you two were together, we would never have crossed paths."

"Unfortunately, things in this world never develop as I wish. Sometimes, you just have to accept fate." Nicole stared at Darian's face, a hint of curiosity rising in her.

Was there really no way to remove the scar on his face?

What kind of situation made him go through an explosion?

Nicole's hand unconsciously moved closer to his face, finally touching the grotesque scar tissue on his face.

With a little warmth, the newly grown flesh felt uneven, definitely not a pleasant touch.

Having such a face must be tough for him.

It's hard to imagine what kind of emotions he went through when he first saw his disfigured face, and how strong his inner self must be to accept such a reality.

Nicole heard some movement at the door, it was Arche.

Seeing Darian in such a sorry state, he was a bit surprised. "How did he end up like this?"

"I have to ask you." Nicole stood up. "Were there other people drinking with you last night?"

"No."

"Then who drugged his drink?"

Arche couldn't meet Nicole's eyes out of guilt.

He changed the subject. "Is he okay? Has he not woken up?"

"Arche, who drugged his drink?" Nicole asked again.

"No one drugged his drink. He just drank too much." Arche continued to lie.

Nicole understood and said sternly, "It was you, wasn't it?"

Arche remained silent.

Seeing his expression, Nicole had no more questions to ask.

She said, "You stay here and watch over him. I'll go eat and then head back to work."

"Nicole..."

Nicole had already left.

Arche helplessly looked at Darian. "Darian, you're really useless. How did you end up in the hospital like this?"

The man who had been unconscious slowly opened his eyes, startling Arche, who almost sat on the floor.

"You're pretending to be unconscious!" Arche patted his chest, catching his breath.

Darian stared at him without moving. "I'll settle the score with you when I'm better."

"I did it for your own good. Once a couple has been through something like that, their relationship will be great. But did you really make an effort? Did the medicine knock you out or did you..."

"Get lost!"

"Alright."

"Wait." Darian stopped him. "Bring her back to me."

Arche raised an eyebrow. "You can't bear to let her go?"

Darian had a headache, picked up a pillow and threw it at him.

Arche caught it, holding the pillow, he smiled. "Okay, I'll go get Nicole for you."

Nicole met Mike at the door.

"You're leaving?"

"Yes."

"He hasn't woken up yet, right?"

"There's someone taking care of him."

Mike knew she had no feelings for that man, she was just bound by morals.

When everything was not voluntary, there was a reversal.

"I happen to be going to the cafeteria for lunch, would you like to join me if you don't mind?" After Mike extended the invitation, he felt a bit nervous, afraid she would refuse.

Nicole checked the time, having been busy all morning, she was already hungry.

Since it was just eating at the hospital cafeteria, she agreed.

Mike's eyes brightened as he followed her to the cafeteria.

As they walked towards the cafeteria, Rebecca and Araminta saw them.

Rebecca raised an eyebrow slightly. "That man and Nicole must be having an affair."

Araminta chuckled. "I've always said she's only after my brother's money. Now, we finally caught her in the act."

"Don't be too careless. Last time, it was a misunderstanding." Rebecca became more cautious.

"I can see clearly, that man is one hundred percent a man, he has an Adam's apple, and there's something in his pants." Araminta's words made Rebecca feel a bit uncomfortable.

She was wild outside, but in the eyes of others, she was still pure and innocent. Even Preston didn't know her true nature.

But Araminta was different, sometimes she made lewd jokes regardless of the occasion.

If we were talking about bad people, Araminta was the real bad person.
