Daisy's Pov

I didn't sleep well. Without Callum beside me, I was restless. I tried to mind-link Callum again. "Callum." "Daisy?" "Oh, think the goddess. You are awake, where are you? I will come and get you." "I don't know where we are." "You are with Jax and Reid." "Yeah, they are here too." "What can you tell me about the place?" "Not much. It looks like an old sheriff station that is out of commission." "How do you know that?" "We are in an old cell, and it smells like mold, so I think this place has not been used in a while."

"How did they know what we were?" "I don't know, little mate, but they are not hunters; otherwise, they would have used silver on us." "You need to get out of there when they get close enough and can kill them. Do it." "I will." "We have sent out trackers. We should be able to find you soon." "I don't think we are close by. It is a hell of a lot colder here." Could he be at a higher altitude? "Daisy, are you okay?" "Yeah, I am fine." "We will see each other again." "Matt was involved. I sent Zelda to go get him. And by the goddess, I will get some answers." "Ask David to interrogate him; you shouldn't have to do that."

"I plan on doing it. He did this because of me, and I will get answers. David and Zelda will be there, but I will handle him." He was silent for a second. "I don't know when they will be back. If they plan to just starve us out. Reid and Jax tried to get them to leave and return, but darts knocked them out. They didn't see it coming either." "So right now we know a group of humans know about us but are not hunters and don't know our weaknesses." "That would be correct." "Well, if we can locate you, it should be easy enough to get you out." "Exactly." "Well, hopefully, someone can catch your scent. Apparently, they drove you out of there, so the trail is not super easy to track."

Zelda mind-linked me. "Matt is in the dungeon." "I got to go. Callum Zelda brought me, Matt. I will let you know when I know something." "Okay, love." I cut the mind link and hurriedly threw on jeans and a long-sleeved t-shirt. "David dungeon now." Throwing my hair up in a messy bun and slipping on some sneakers. I ran out of the room and down to the dungeon through the secret passage. Being my guard, Zelda had clearance to enter the passage. I arrived before David, but Zelda locked him in a cell. He was unconscious.

"What do you want to do, Luna." "We need water to wake him up." She nodded and went to fetch it. I looked at his face. Zelda had not been too rough with him. She had to know I would torture him, and it was best to start with a clean canvas. I was not one prone to torture. Summer, on the other hand, was practically prancing in my head. She got off on stuff like this and was furious our mate had been taken from us. She wanted answers, as did I, and I was desperate to get them.

David came into the dungeon. "Daisy, you down here." "Zelda went to get water; she will return any second." He came and stood beside me. "I can do this if you want?" "No, it is my responsibility. Callum is not here, and he would be the one to normally do this to someone who hurt our pack, and in his absence, it falls to me. Not to mention, he is doing this because of me. "You are not responsible for this." "I know that, but this fucker is, and he will tell me what he knows, and then I will kill him." David nodded as Zelda came in with a giant bucket. "We need to string him up first, then we wake him.

When the water hit him, Matt began to stir. "Daisy." He said as he looked at me. "What is going on?" "You tell me you had Callum, Reid, and Jax taken." He smirked. "Tell me where they are, asshole." "I don't know." "Zelda, do you have a knife." she nodded, handing me one, and I walked up to the suspended Matt. "Tell me what you know, Matt, or I swear I will start cutting." "You are too sweet for that, Daisy." I grabbed hold of his arm and dragged the knife down it. He let out a scream. He didn't think I would do this, but he was wrong. "Now tell me what I want to know."

"Fine, I don't know where he is." That is not the truth. "I heard some officers in a bar chatting, saying that you were werewolves. They went on and on about it, really. I didn't believe them at first, but they convinced me. I told them about you and that if they helped me, I would help them." "Help them how." "Well, they wanted you all gone. I told them I would find someone to make that happen if they got Callum and his friends out of the picture." "And how did you plan on getting rid of all of us."

"I found a group on the internet. They are called hunters. I told them what I knew, and they agreed to help, but I told them not to harm you or anyone who surrenders." "You fucking idiot. Hunters will kill every last woman, man, and child if they come here." Matt's face paled. "And when are they going to be here?" "I don't know. I told them we would get some members together for them to question." "That is why you took Callum and the others." "It worked for both me and them. He would be gone, and so would his friends, and the hunters would get their information." "Tell me where they are."

"I don't know. I really don't. The police that were involved said they would take them to an old guard station in the mountains. I never got the information your friend got to me before I could get it". "But it is on your phone." "Daisy, I accidentally smashed his phone, grabbing him," Zelda said. Fuck, I thought. "Why did you do this?" "He is not good for you, Daisy. He treats you like meat; my dad treated my mom like that, and It has never sat right with me when men do that."

"He is my mate, Matt. He loves me and treats me with kindness and respect. You wouldn't know that, though." "Daisy, I am sorry. Just let me go. I can fix all this." "No, I will fix this." I shifted into Summer. She didn't hesitate as she began to tear him limb from limb. Matt was the stupidest person I had ever met. I was glad it did not take any real torture to get the information. Now I would have to find Callum deal with hunters and the fact we killed cops. The world is against us.
