Chapter 49

Hudson POV

I remembered that I had someone back in the pack who could help me with my Dominic problem, but the main deal was. Would he really be into making an Alpha pay? I knew very well that Dominic won't stop until he makes sure that he has gotten his revenge.

I couldn't just let him do anything to her, I know that we might just have gotten together but still, I want Katrina to be happy and enjoy life the way we enjoy it. But if we let him do anything else he would try to kill her.

He has already tried but failed, there is no saying what he will do next in order to make sure that he kills her. I really want her to live and be happy but then there is Dominic standing there as her mate.

I decided to stop thinking about all that and I wanted to make sure that Katrina was okay, so I stepped out of the cave to go see what she was doing.

I looked around and saw that her clothes were beside the lake, I didn't know where to look for her, I walked close and saw her swimming inside the lake.

She was half-naked, I couldn't help but sit there and watch her all happy and free. I couldn't wish for anything more but to see her as happy as this every day.

But I don't think that it would be possible, not when Dominic and Alicia are still plotting to kill her I need to find a way to take them down and be sure that they didn't have any form of strength.

I will make sure that they can't do anything to her and I will be sure that she is safe and sound. I will be sure of that and I will always be there for her.

Katrina noticed that I was there, she turned back and swam toward me. She had a smile on her face and I knew that she was going to make me come into the water, I looked at her as she came up to my side.

“Why are you there smiling? Come on in.” She was looking at me with a smile on her face, I couldn't say I didn't want to swim with her. But there was something pulling me back, the fact she is still mated to Dominic was somewhat of a burden to me.

I couldn't touch her wholeheartedly without guilt taking over me, I wanted to talk to her and be with her but she is mates with another. Until their mate bond is broken, I can't go close to her or make her mine.

“I don't know how to swim, I will drown eventually.” I wanted to shake her off so that she wouldn't make me come in.

“That's a lie, we both know that you are a great swimmer but you're just trying to hide the fact that you are one. I don't know why you're lying.”

She was looking at me with angry eyes, I knew that she must have really wanted me to join her in swimming but I wasn't going to enter.

“I can't swim and it, 's not a lie, so you can carry on I will head back to the cave. Once you're done we will be heading back to the pack.” I got up and began walking back to the cave, the mission and what they had sent me to get was all a plan to remove so that they could kill Katrina.

I didn't want to tell her so she wouldn't be worried or anything, I just wanted her to be happy and I wanted to be sure that nothing happened to her and that she was in a good mood.

I walked to the cave and began packing our things, I didn't hear any sound of splashes that showed that she was still swimming. I was slowly growing worried. I didn't want it to look like I was that worried so I left it for some time.

I didn't hear anything for the next two minutes, I got up immediately and ran back to the lake. I looked around and I didn't see her, I didn't see anything that showed she was taken.

My only fear was that she had drowned, I took off my clothes and dived in. I wasn't going to lose her. I looked around and I didn't see her in there.

I grew worried and surprised, “Katrina!!” I called and swam around to see if I would see anything that would lead me to her.

“No no no! Where is she?” I looked around as fear gripped my heart, I could not imagine what had happened to her and I was trying not to go far with my imagination.

“I thought you said that you couldn't swim.”

I turned back to see her smiling, she had hidden to make me enter the water, she was there the whole time and was just hiding from me.

“You're ok?” I wanted to yell at her for trying to give me a heart attack, but she was still smiling. I didn't know how to say it to her that I wanted to rip her head off clear from her body.

She jumped in and swam in my direction, she was happy that I was in the water. She was in front of me, still smiling and gleaming with joy. I knew that she was happy that I finally swam with her.

“You know I could kill you one day.” I was looking at her with a funny face, she smiled and hugged me.

“I know you don't mean that you're just saying it to look cool or something like that.” she looked me in the eye, I was lost in a way. What did she mean by that? Well, she was right I can't harm her even if I wanted to.

I really did love her, she was like Ray of Hope and life. I wanted her to stay alive, I would fight the world to make sure that she was safe. I knew that there was no way I was going to be with her one day.

“What do you mean by that? I might change and harm you? I am also a being that can't be judged in a normal way. You see we all have our deep desires locked in us.” I noticed that she was looking at me, she was craving for something.

“What's with Look?” I asked, smiling, she couldn't hold back anymore.

“Shut up.” She said before kissing me, I knew she had something like this on her mind. She kept kissing me and going through my mouth with her tongue.

I felt the urge to dominate her there, but I had to hold myself back. She kept kissing me when we finally broke from the heated kiss. I looked at her, she was looking at me with joy in her heart.

She was happy, I could see in her eyes that she was happy that she followed me and that she was with me now. I did not know what to say, but I knew this. She had given me a reason to protect her till the end of time, I would gladly be with her till the very end of time itself.

“Katrina, I want you to know that I want the best for you and I want you to be happy. I want you to know that I love you from my heart, I just wish that I was your mate now. I would have given you all the love in my heart.

I want you to be happy and know that I can do anything for you. Please stay alive for me to make you mine, maybe not in this life but maybe in the next I will make you mine.” I looked into her eyes.

I could see tears fall from her eyes, I didn't know she was crying but I knew that it wasn't tears of pain. She wrapped her arms around my neck, she sunk into my hands.

The lake was calm and it made the mood worth it all, I held her as she cried on my shoulders. I didn't know why she was crying but I held her close.

“I know that fate may not let us be together now but I know that one day you will be mine and I will be your mate. I will make sure that nothing happens to you, I will stand with you and I will also be sure that nothing will make you sad.

For years I have wanted nothing but to hold you in my arms like this, I have always wanted to have you as mine. But one more thing keeps me from having you, I will be sure that I will win and we will be together forever.”

“Hudson?”

“Yes, Katrina.”

“I love you so much.”
