Chapter 87: Nina's point of view
Things had finally taken a change for the worst. I was seeing Jessica making out with Kayden. Nothing would have prepared me for the shock, but there was nothing I could do. It was like he was tied away mentally. I had seen them leave multiple times and do public display of affection right in front of me.
I had finally gotten to reach Belloq. He wasn't dead neither was he doing well with himself. It was a manageable case and he was finally gathering enough army to fight against.
I was getting more freedom from the pack house with Kayden taking his eyes off of me and Jessica reassigning new people which was weird. It was like I didn't exist anymore as the Luna.
I was trying to get more people on my side to fight against Kayden eventually. I needed to just get to the bear shifters. They were Kayden's greatest fear. Just before he got ran over by Jessica and her enchantment, we had made plans together.
I reminisced but I barely felt anything anymore, it wasn't like I would just weeks before. The hurt was no longer there and I was numb. I had gotten more active with meeting other people and plotting my way to overthrow Kayden. It was all I could think about and all I wanted to do after what he had done to me.
There was hate in me that he awoke. I didn't do that to myself. He did it, he caused the anger in me.
I walked around the house and while I was moving, Kayden's office caught my attention. "Perhaps, there are reasonable files in here to use against him," I suggested to myself.
I looked around to see if anyone was anywhere. Luckily, the usual guards that would be in the hallway watching every single thing had been relieved of their duties. I walked to the door and turned the knob but it was locked.
I tried pushing on it and using a hairpin, but neither worked. I eventually gave up on it and decided I would do other things with my time. I would just need to find out more details about the pack and it's warriors and the alliances they had in place so I could destroy them.
I retired to my room and awaited the news from the person who I had trailing Kayden and Jessica. Nothing exactly felt safe with the two of them always at the beck and call of each other.
I feared that Kayden was under a spell, but stating it or even curing him was a bigger problem. I didn't even have much experience with that and I thought about the possibilities of finding out that he wasn't really under a spell and that he was in love with Jessica, the girl who had deceived me claiming to be my sister. I was genuinely torn apart by the whole ordeal.
I fell asleep on the bed while worrying about the two of them.
