Chapter 86 Damien's Frantic Cries

Chapter 86 Damien's Frantic Cries

Evelyn approached Damien cautiously, her eyes locked on his. She could see the darkness in his gaze, and feel the malevolent spirit that had taken over his body. She knew he was not doing this on his own. Bit all this started when the sun rose.

She didn't waste time thinking about this.

"Damien, please," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Come back to me." She really wished to see Damien spirit back in his body. This thought then occupied her mind.

Where exactly has Damien's spirit gone to? Was she ever going to see Damien back in his original state? Her mind was troubled once again. She didn't know that she would have to face this on her own. Was this how Eleanor felt also? The weight and all.

Damien reacted again, he raised raised his sword, and for a moment, Evelyn thought he would attack her. But instead, he lunged at the guards.

She felt even more emotional, her eyes became blurry with tears. Even while possessed,he didn't forget his responsibility to take care of her. He didn't want to hurt her.

The guards reacted quickly, defending themselves against Damien's attack. Thanks to their fast reflexes, they weren't hurt. However, Evelyn tried to intervene, but Damien's movements were too fast. Too fast for her to predict. In the chaos, Evelyn was caught off guard and stumbled backward.

As she fell, Damien's sword flashed in the air, and Evelyn felt a searing pain in her arm. Evelyn winced in pain on the floor.

The guards caught sight of this unfavourable scene. They were infuriated by his action and counterstriked with newfound determination. How could he exactly hurt the Queen? Was he doing this on his own? Seemed more like he was possessed.

Damien, still under the influence of the dark spirit, fought back with incredible strength. Having rooted the thought that he was possessed in their mind, they coupled it with Damien's swordsmanship skill and the evil spirit taking over.

The guards managed to overpower him, but not before he suffered several injuries. They didn't fight in such a way to kill him, but they fought with the mind of hurting him. Each guards understood the assignment.

Damien lay on the ground, the guards pinned him down and bound his wrists and ankles with ropes. Evelyn, clutching her wounded arm, stumbled forward. She didn't know where she got that energy from. She just acted on impulse. Her heart ached.

This was exactly what she wanted to avoid, but it ended up happening. He was hurt just like Kallix. Everyone will soon leave her.

"Damien," she whispered, her eyes filled with tears. "I'm so sorry."

The guards looked at her with concern, their anger toward Damien fueled. How could he do this to the Queen? Even with all his behavior, the Queen still cares about him. Is something between them?

"Your Majesty, you're hurt," one of them said, rushing to her side.

Evelyn nodded, wincing in pain. "Take him to the dungeon. I'll deal with him later."

The guards nodded, lifting Damien's bound form and carrying him away. They were even more satisfied since he was going to the dungeon. That was the most befitting place for him to be at.

Evelyn watched them go, her heart heavy with sorrow and worry. She did this to Damien, but why was the beasts after her? Was it her sin or her bloodline sin? There was no one to tell her this. Only Eleanor could find out, but she can't tell without seeing some prove and lead.

As she turned to leave, she felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. The guards caught her, holding her upright.

"Your Majesty, you need to see a physician," one of them said, concern etched on his face.

Evelyn nodded, her vision blurring. She knew she had to get treatment for her wound, but her mind was consumed by thoughts of Damien. Will he get better after being wounded?

She heard it that Kallix only got better once he got hurt, would it be the sane for Damien as well?

Evelyn was carried to her chamber by the guards, her wounded arm throbbing in pain. The physician was summoned immediately, and he arrived shortly, his bag of herbs and potions at the ready.

The physician examined Evelyn's wound, his hands moving with precision. "It's not too deep, Your Majesty," he said, "but it needs to be cleaned and dressed properly."

Evelyn nodded, wincing as the physician began to clean the wound. After a while, the physician finished dressing the wound.

"Thank you, Physician," Evelyn said, her voice weak. "But I need you to check on someone else."

The physician looked at her curiously. "Who might that be, Your Majesty?"

"Damien," Evelyn replied. "He's wounded as well.”

A guard was summoned, and the physician followed him to the dungeon. When they arrived, the physician found Damien tied to a chair, his head slumped forward. It was clear that he was unconscious.

The physician approached Damien cautiously, his eyes scanning his wound. This man must have made a terrible mistake to be tired like this. But the Queen still cared about him.

As he reached out to examine Damien's wounds, Damien's eyes snapped open.

The physician jumped back at once, startled. What was that? His eyes were closed minutes ago. Damien's eyes were wild and focused, and his gaze seemed to bore into the physician's very soul.

The physician tried to compose himself, but Damien's gaze made him shiver. "I...I need to tend to your wounds," he stammered. Who was this man? Why this so much aura? Even the Queen doesn't pierce this much.

The physician wasn't sure if Damien heard him. He approached him, but instead, Damien started shouting and screaming. How voice loud and clear, hoarse but deep.

The physician took a step back, his heart racing. What could be wrong? His shout sent a wave to everyone present heart.

"What's wrong with him?" he whispered to the guard.

Damien's screams only grew louder, more frantic. Everyone stood in awe watching him act out. He began to speak in gibberish, his words tumbling out in a mad torrent. They couldn't bring a meaning out of what he's saying. Seemed like he wasn't possessed, he was running mad, turning into a crazy man.

The physician watched in horror as Damien's body began to thrash about, his restraints creaking under the strain. He struggled to break free from the chair he was tied into. But he couldn't.

"I think we should get out of here," the physician whispered to the guard. "This is beyond my expertise."

The guard nodded, his face pale. "Let's go. I'll report back to the Queen."

As they turned to leave, Damien's screams grew even louder, echoing through the dungeon like the howls of a madman.

The physician and the guard hastened their pace, eager to escape from Damien's scream and rant. How could Damien's condition have gone from bad to worst?

When they emerged from the dungeon, the physician took a deep breath of fresh air. Finally managing to relax, he has been involved with msbt people, but no one as agitated as that young man back there. He was terrified just by looking at him. How could he take care of him if he can't even take care of himself?

"I'll need to inform the Queen about the young man's condition," he said to the guard.

The guard nodded. "I'll escort you to her chamber."
