Chapter 21: 1
~Emily~ Day 1 without Prince Nathan "Are you ready?" I asked Harry. He nodded feebly in response. "Oi! Don't be a chicken!" I retorted. Staring at me, he nodded vigorously. "That's more like it..." I said. I then looked down from the balcony, watching our victim as she neared our targeted spot. "Okay... 3... 2... 1... Let go!" I announced. Harry hesitantly spilled the contents of the steel bucket, which included cold water, ice cubes and oil. "EEEEEEEEK!" shrieked Gertrude. When it came to pranking people, I was an expert. I concocted a plan to prank Gertrude. I supervised Harry to fill the bucket with water, ice cubes and oil and he carried the bucket to the balcony. Gertrude was outside and as she stood on the target spot, I told the reluctant Harry to spill the contents of the bucket. I laughed hysterically. Harry looked pale. Gertrude then looked up and saw Harry. "Gertrude darling! I'm sorry! This witch made me do it!" explained Harry, pointing his index finger at me and feeling guilty for drenching her with water and oil. I gasped dramatically. "I did not! Gertrude, he's lying!" I defended. Looking annoyed, which was a surprise for me since I never saw her look frustrated before, Gertrude stomped away. "Gertrude, honey! I'm sorry!" screamed Harry like a little boy, jumping over the railings of the balcony and running towards Gertrude after landing on the ground, guilty and upset. I just laughed in response. *** "This movie is so...so... Waaaaah!" I cried, sniffing. "Why did he have to leave her for Jessica? Jessica is such a slut!" "I know right! Kate deserves him so much more!" cried Harry, blowing his nose into a tissue. "Oh, when will justice prevail?" sighed Harry. "Time will tell, buddy. Time will tell," I replied in a bereaved tone, patting his back very gently with my left hand. Then we both cried fiercely a little while later, as the tragic ending was nearing. *** "Twenty questions?" suggested Harry, sitting on the table between two long couches. "Sure!" I said, sitting on the couch. "Okay! But you have to answer my questions truthfully," he informed. I nodded in agreement. "Okay! So me first! Your favourite colour?" "Turquoise," I replied. "What about you?" "Green," he replied. "Favourite pet?" "Hm... A beaver!" I exclaimed. I loved beavers. They were so cute! "A beaver? Why the hell do you like beavers?" he asked in a questioning tone. "Why are you so surprised?" "Well, I was expecting you to say a cat, a hamster or a dog..." He mumbled. "Well, I like cats, dogs and hamsters but I really like beavers," I explained. "You're very strange..." he commented. "Not strange, buddy. Unique. I'm unique," I replied, smiling. He grinned in amusement. "What about you? Your favourite pet...?" "A crocodile!" he exclaimed. I rolled my eyes. "That's believable," I commented. He chuckled. "Next question." "Nah. I'm going to save em',"he said. "Why?" "Hey. Don't be too curious," he replied, acting mysteriously. "Whatever..." I said carelessly. "Well, I'm going to go eat food! Gertrude!" I called, walking out of the lounge. Then, I went looking for Gertrude so that she could prepare my dinner. *** "But I'm going to be afraid if I sleep all alone," squeaked Harry, pouting. He was wearing his dark blue pyjamas, holding a white pillow. I sighed, exasperated. "Harry, grow up! I'm not going to let you sleep in my room, so just give up," I finalised. "But... But the ghosts!" he said. I rolled my eyes. "Good night, Harry," I mumbled, closing my bedroom door which blocked him from entering my room. Then, I entered my bed and fell asleep. *** Day 2 without Prince Nathan... (A/N: Honestly, I feel bad that Nathan is missing out all the fun) This felt invigorating. The wind was blowing my braided hair and I was laughing. Harry and I were sitting on a a wooden wagon, which was pulled by two burly horses. Harry held the reigns, controlling the brown horses. "There they are!" I exclaimed. "Brilliant," replied Harry, using his right hand to grab a water gun from the basket. Aiming, he squirted water at one of the three brawny, black German Shepherds. Disliking it, the three German Shepherd ran away but we were chasing them. Harry continued to squirt water at them while I was laughing. "This will stop them from smelling too much. Hahahaha. This is so much fun!" exclaimed Harry. I nodded. "Obviously! It's my idea so of course it's going to be fun!" I said. I wanted to squirt water at them too but I couldn't since I was unable to lift my arms, especially the right one. The dogs were barking, still trying to run away from us. Their furs were now shiny because they were wet. I giggled. Then, I noticed that Harry was staring at me in amusement. "What?" I asked, raising my eyebrows. "Nothing!" he hurriedly said, turning his head away. "Okay..." I replied awkwardly. Then, we continued to wet the dogs. *** "You didn't!" I gasped in disbelief. "Oh, but I did," replied Harry, grinning. I walked into my room and saw a small, black cage placed next to my bed. Ebullient, I opened the cage door and shrieked in delight. "Holy brownies!" I gasped. I sat down on my bed and Harry placed my new pet on my lap. "Surprise!" said Harry. I smiled. "Hello there," I greeted, stroking the small back of my baby beaver. "Thank you very much, Harry!" I said gratefully, cuddling my baby beaver. The baby beaver was a male and he was slightly bigger than my hand. "So what will you call him?" asked Harry. "I don't know. I'll have to think about it for a while," I said. "Seriously Harry, thank you very much," I said again. "You're welcome," he said. "How old is he?" "Only a week old," he replied. I nodded. "He's beautiful," I said. I saw Gertrude enter my room, holding a bottle filled with a white liquid, milk, and a big basket which contained a blanket and three soft, light blue pillows. "He comes with a package," informed Harry, referring to the baby beaver. I nodded, giving my baby beaver to Gertrude so that she could tuck him under the soft blanket. "I want to feed him," I said. Gertrude gave me the bottle filled with milk and, using my left hand, I fed my baby beaver. "Oh my! He's drinking!" I exclaimed. "Yes, yes. We can see, little girl. You don't have to be overly excited," sighed Harry. I stuck my tongue out at him. He returned the gesture. His grey eyes were very bright; the brightest I had ever seen. "Okay, I'm going to go get refreshed," he informed, walking out of my room. "Okay," I said, distracted by the baby beaver's cuteness. When Harry said he needed to get refreshed, he meant that he needed to drink blood. He was humane enough to drink it without my presence. As the door closed, the baby beaver and I were alone together. ***
