Chapter 27
Femix kept staring at Selina as she was lying down on the bed, resting. Her face was so peaceful, it brought calmness to him.
“I love her, George. I can't stand nit being with her. She makes me happy every time. The idea of her and someone tears me apart, makes me want to go on a rampage.” He turned to face George, “The king of the city has found his queen, and he intends to keep her.”
"Felix, you can't keep doing this," George urged, his voice a filled with concern. "You're going too far, man. Selina doesn't belong to you. You can't force her to stay."
Felix's eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint showing. "You don't understand, George. Selina is everything to me. I can't let her go. I won't. After everything I've done to keep her? I'd go on a rampage of she leaves."
George sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "But Felix, what you're doing isn't love. It's possession. It's control. You're suffocating her, and it's only a matter of time before she realises and breaks free."
A bitter laugh escaped Felix's lips, the sound echoing off the walls of the opulent room. "Breaks free? She'll never leave me, George. She's mine, and she knows it."
George shook his head, disbelief etched across his features. "You're lying to yourself, Felix. Selina deserves better than this. She deserves to be free, to make her own choices. To choose who she loves."
But Felix was beyond reason, his obsession with Selina blinding him to all sort of logic or morality. "I won't let her go, George. I'll do whatever it takes to keep her by my side. Even if it means... destroying anyone who stands in my way."
The weight of Felix's words hung heavy in the air, a chilling reminder of the lengths he was willing to go to in order to satisfy his twisted desires. George knew then that he had to be careful, for challenging Felix is always deadly.
Felix carried the deeply asleep Selina into his car, to take her back home. On the way, Felix kept glancing at Selina to see if she's comfortable.
Selina, who had been awake the entire time forced herself to remain stiff and calm and to not alert Felix that she's awake.
As they reached Selina's door, Felix gently helped her out of the car and into her apartment, his movements deceptively gentle as he settled her onto the couch. Selina watched him warily, her heart pounding in her chest as she struggled to maintain her composure.
Felix dropped Selina on her couch and left to get something in his own apartment.
Selina hastily grabbed her phone and tried dialing Amara. At first, there wasn't service and she almost cried.
Waiting for several minutes before trying again, she dialed Amara's number again, hoping it will go this time while checking the door for Felix.
Felix was already by the door,, his hand hovering over the doorknob as he watched Selina with a steely gaze. "Who are you calling, Selina?" he asked, his tone laced with suspicion.
Selina hesitated, her fingers trembling as she struggled to find the right words. "I... I just need to check in with a friend," she stammered, her mind racing as she searched for a plausible excuse.
But before Amara could answer the call, Felix moved with lightning speed, snatching the phone from her grasp and holding it just out of reach. "I'm afraid that won't be possible, Selina," he said smoothly, his voice devoid of emotion. "There's no need for you to worry your friend with unnecessary concerns.”
“Let's sit down. Shall we?” Felix said, pointing towards her couch as he came inside and closed the door.
Selina noticed his tone wasn't the same. It wasn't the caring Felix that stood in front of her. This one looked like a psychopath.
“What do you want?” Selina asked calmly, though she was far from calm.
Felix smiled. “You” he answered. “Everything you've complained about, was real. From the intruders, to the neck bites, to the ankle pain, everything is true.” Felix told her calmly, his meniac self showing.
Selina was listening, careful not to show any signs of weakness.
“First, it was the intruder. I wanted to watch you sleep. You sleep so peacefully, it calms me down. The night you felt someone was in the room with you. Yes, I was. I slept beside you and that was the most peaceful sleep I've ever slept. Then, the other time you woke up with marks on your skin and your clothes disheveled, we made out.” Felix kept on talking.
Goosebumps scattered across Selina's body as she realised he had taken advantage of her.
“Your lips are so sweet, I couldn't avoid it any longer. I left marks on your body and knowing you, I'm sure you assumed it was mosquito bites.” Felix smirked as he continued. “This very last one was the leg. You have absolutely beautiful legs and I just needed my marks to be on your body. To show that you're mine.”.
“But I'm not yours” Selina argued.
Felix gave a sinister smile. “That's what you think. Your whole body, your mind, soul and entire being belongs to me. Can't you see that I love you? I want you to be mine in every way possible.”
Selina shook her head. “No. Why didn't you just do it the normal way? The way everyone wants to be loved? You can't own someone, I'm not a property or an object for you to just own.” Selina tried arguing back.
“I'll destroy everyone that wants to take you away from me, I'll kill them infront of you, making sure that you hear their pleas before they die. YOU BELONG TO ME.”
Selina realised that there's no amount of words she could say that will convince him, and so arguing with him would be total waste of time.
"Selina, darling," Felix purred, his voice dripping with false sweetness. "I hope you're comfortable. You'll be staying here with me for a while."
Selina's stomach turned with dread as she realized the full extent of Felix's control over her life. She knew that she had to find a way to escape, to break free from his suffocating grasp before it was too late.
Felix was approaching her, his presence looming over her like a dark cloud, and Selina's resolve faltered as she realized she was powerless against him and that trying to resist would only bring about more retaliation.
Seeking a way out, Selina's hand reached instinctively for the utility knife she had stashed beneath her pillow, her fingers trembling in anticipation as her fingers wrapped around the cold metal handle.
This was her last line of defense, her only chance of survival in a world where violence and fear rule the day, and as Felix approached her with his eyes burning with an evil determination, Selina realized that the time for punishment had come. With a steady hand and courageous heart, she raised the knife in a silent declaration.
