Chapter 17
As Selina stepped through the door of her apartment, the events of the previous night still fresh in her mind, she felt a wave of unease wash over her. She glanced around cautiously, half-expecting to find someone lurking in the shadows.
"Amara, do you think I'm overreacting?" Selina asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty as she called her friend to express her feelings towards the issue.
Amara replied "No, Selina, I don't think you are," she replied, her tone firm. "It's better to be safe than sorry. You should definitely contact the police and see if they found anything on the surveillance footage."
Selina nodded, grateful for Amara's support. "You're right," she said, determination firming her voice. "I'll call them right away." and she ended the call.
As Selina dialed the number for the police station, her heart pounded in her chest, her mind racing with thoughts of what might have happened the night before. After a few rings, a voice answered on the other end.
"Hello, this is Selina Nash," she began, her voice steady despite the nervous flutter in her stomach. "I'm calling to inquire about the surveillance footage from last night. Did you find anything suspicious?"
The officer's voice came through the line, calm and reassuring. "Selina, I'm glad you called," he replied, his tone steady. "We did review the footage, and it appears to be a drunk individual who wandered onto the wrong floor by mistake. There's no need to worry."
Though the official explanation from the police officer offered some relief, Selina couldn't shake the lingering feeling of unease deep inside. "Thank you, Officer," she said, her voice faint with uncertainty. "I appreciate your help."
"Thank you, Officer," Selina said, a sense of relief flooding through her. "I appreciate your help."
After hanging up the phone with the police, Selina immediately dialed Amara's number, her fingers trembling slightly with the residual nerves from the unsettling events of the night before. As the phone rang, she felt a sense of relief wash over her when Amara answered.
"Hey, Amara, it's me," Selina greeted, her voice slightly shaky despite her attempt to sound composed.
"Hey, Selina, what's up?" Amara replied, her voice warm and comforting.
Selina took a deep breath, trying to steady herself before relaying the information. "I just spoke with the police about last night," she began, her words coming out in a rush. "They're looking into the surveillance footage to see if they found anything suspicious."
Amara listened attentively, her concern evident in her silence. "That's good," she finally said, her tone reassuring. "Hopefully, they'll be able to shed some light on what happened."
"Yeah, I hope so too," Selina agreed, feeling a small sense of relief at Amara's supportive response. "Thanks for being here for me, Amara. I really appreciate it."
"Of course, Selina," Amara replied, her voice filled with sincerity. "You know I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
Selina smiled faintly, grateful for Amara's unwavering support. "I know," she said softly. "And it means more to me than you know."
As they continued to chat, Selina felt a sense of calm wash over her, knowing that she had Amara by her side through whatever challenges lay ahead. With her friend's reassuring presence, she felt a renewed sense of strength and determination to face the uncertainty of the situation head-on.
"Thanks again, Amara," Selina said, her voice filled with gratitude as they ended the call. "I'll let you know if anything else comes up."
"Anytime, Selina," Amara replied, her warmth evident even through the phone. "Take care of yourself, okay?".
Selina nodded, a sense of gratitude swelling in her chest. “I will," she said, her voice soft with emotion. "I don't know what I would do without you."
As she hung up the phone, Selina couldn't help but wonder if there was more to the story than met the eye. Despite the reassurances from the police, doubts still lingered in her mind, casting a shadow of doubt over her sense of security. And as she curled up on the couch, a sense of unease settled over her like a heavy fog, leaving her feeling more vulnerable than ever before.
As Selina drifted into a deep slumber under the influence of medication, her mind clouded with the fog of sleep, she was completely unaware of the watchful eyes fixed upon her.
Meanwhile, Felix sat in front of the surveillance monitors, his eyes fixed on Selina's slumbering form with an unsettling intensity. The dim glow of the screens cast eerie shadows across his face as he watched her, a sinister smile playing at the corners of his lips.
Unknown to her, Felix watched intently, his gaze fixed on her sleeping form with a twisted sense of possession. To him, Selina's helpless state provided a perverse sense of satisfaction, fueling his obsession with her.
As he observed Selina's tranquil expression, Felix's mind swirled with dark thoughts and desires. "She's mine," he whispered to himself, his voice a low murmur of possessiveness. "All mine.”
“It's almost poetic, isn't it?" Felix murmured to himself, his voice barely above a whisper as he watched Selina's sleeping form on the screen. "To have her completely at my mercy, unaware of the power I hold over her.”
Felix watched Selina's every move with rapt attention, a cold smile playing at the corners of his lips. "She's mine," he whispered to himself, his voice filled with possessive glee. "And soon, she'll realize that she can't escape me.”
In her drug-induced state, Selina's subconscious mind was plagued by a sense of being tightly held by an unseen force. Her body felt paralyzed, unable to move or struggle against the invisible bonds that seemed to constrict around her.
As Selina's mind grappled with the terrifying sensation of being held captive in her own room, fear crept into her heart. Despite the password lock on her door, someone had breached her sanctuary, and the realization filled her with a sense of dread.
Unable to move or cry out for help, Selina lay trapped in her own body, at the mercy of the sinister presence lurking in the shadows. Selina's terror only grew, her mind racing with the unanswered question of who could have invaded her home and why.
Selina's breath came in shallow gasps as she clutched the covers tightly to her chest, her mind racing with terrifying possibilities.
As Selina couldn't move her body, she began wondering what kind of cold medication she was given that could render her immobile, or was it that she over stressed and that's what made her immobile?
Thoughts upon thoughts filled her head, even as she could feel the arms of another wrapped around her and the person awake, waiting for her to make the first move.
