Chapter 16

As Martin left, Selina's mood didn't go back to how it was. Fear still gripped her that Martin could be her intruder, or he is somehow related to the case.

“Selina, what's wrong?” Amara repeated loudly after she noticed that Selina didnt hear the first two times she asked and Selina's mind wasn't there anymore.

“I'm sorry I wasn't listening. My mind is occupied.” Selina told her friend.

“Occupied with what? Let me know. I want to be there for you.” Amara assured her.

Selina sighed. “I didn't tell anyone about the break-in. No one asides from you and the Police knows. How did Martin come to find out and even spot out an injury on my body?” Selina told her friend her worries. “I'll get to the bottom of this. I can't live in fear or sleep in fear in my own apartment.” Selina said sadly.

Amara nodded in understanding and consoled her friend in the best way she could. “We'll figure this out together.”

Amara gently placed a comforting hand on her friend's shoulder, wanting to relieve her friend from the distress she was facing at the moment. "Selina, I can see how much this is affecting you," she said softly, her voice filled with understanding. "Why don't we go to the school infirmary? Maybe Dr. George can help calm your nerves."

Selina nodded gratefully, grateful for Amara's support as they made their way to the infirmary. Dr. George, the school physician, greeted them warmly as they entered, his kind eyes immediately picking up on Selina's unease.

"What seems to be the problem, Selina?" Dr. George asked, his voice gentle as he ushered her into an examination room.

Selina hesitated, unsure of how to explain her fears. "I... I've just been feeling really anxious lately," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "And with everything that's been happening, I don't know what to do."

Dr. George nodded understandingly, his expression sympathetic as he began to examine Selina. After a thorough assessment, he diagnosed her with just a cold, offering reassurance that her physical symptoms were nothing serious.

"Here, take these medications," Dr. George said kindly, handing Selina a prescription. "And remember to take it easy. Stress can increase your symptoms, so try to relax as much as you can."

Selina nodded gratefully, feeling a sense of relief wash over her at Dr. George's words. With a heartfelt thank you, she and Amara left the infirmary, the weight of her fears slightly eased by the comforting presence of her friend and the reassurance of the school physician.

Though the mystery of her stalker still loomed large in her mind, Selina found solace in knowing that she had a support system to lean on during these uncertain times.

As Selina and Amara left the infirmary, Felix emerged from behind a curtain, his expression unreadable as he approached Dr. George. “Good morning Doctor” Felix greeted.

Dr. George was surprised to see Felix, mainly because he used to be Felix's home Doctor and Felix never did any check ups or anything medical outside his home.

“Such a surprise. What brings you here, Felix?” Dr. George questioned.

"Doctor, we need to talk," Felix said, his voice low, straight to the point and urgent.

Dr. George turned to face Felix, a curious look in his eyes. "What's on your mind, Felix?" he asked, his tone careful.

Felix glanced around to ensure no one else was listening before leaning in closer to Dr. George. "I need you to do something for me," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I need you to swap out Selina's cold medicine with something else."

Dr. George's eyebrows shot up in surprise, his gaze narrowing with suspicion. "Why would you want me to do that?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern.

Felix's lips curled into a sly smile as he leaned back, his eyes gleaming with too much confidence. "I'm not going to lie to you. I'm interested in Selina. I need her to be mine in all ways, body, mind and soul.”

Dr. George's eyes widened in realization as he understood the implications of Felix's request and he knew he couldn't say no to Felix. "You're playing a dangerous game, Felix," he warned, his voice laced with caution.

As George watched Felix's calm exterior masking his madness, a knot formed in his stomach, and worry gnawed at him like a persistent ache. Despite their close relationship, George couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled over him like a dark cloud whenever he witnessed Felix's obsessive behavior.

"Felix, you need to reconsider your actions," George urged, his voice tinged with concern. "What you're doing to Selina is dangerous. If she ever uncovers the truth..."

But Felix waved off George's concerns with a dismissive gesture, his eyes flashing with determination. "I know what I'm doing, George," he replied firmly, his voice tinged with unwavering conviction. "My method is the only way to ensure that Selina becomes mine, completely and utterly."

George sighed heavily, frustration bubbling up inside him as he struggled to make Felix see reason. "But at what cost, Felix? Why not just court her normally, knowing you, your charms will do it perfectly and she'llstill be yours at the end of the day with genuine love and affection?" he pressed, his voice tinged with desperation. "You're playing with fire here. What if Selina finds out? What then?"

But Felix's resolve remained unshaken, his obsession with Selina blinding him to the potential consequences of his actions. "She won't find out," he insisted stubbornly, his voice filled with certainty. "And even if she does, by then, it will be too late. She'll already be under my control."

George watched Felix walk away and a sense of dread settled over him like a heavy weight. He knew that he couldn't force Felix to change his ways, but he also couldn't shake the feeling that his friend was heading down a dangerous path from which there might be no return. And as he contemplated the possible consequences of Felix's actions, George couldn't help but fear for Selina's safety and well-being.
