Chapter 80: Come to my penthouse...

"Good morning, sir." I greeted immediately I got into his office.

He was busy scribbling in a huge file in front of him and as usual, be ignored my presence.

I closed the door behind me then proceeded to take a seat opposite him.

I was used to this routine quite well so it did not really bother me anymore.

The routine of me waking into his office with a big smile on my face and then walking away after being ignored.

I always wondered why he invited me into his office if he was not going to speak to me at all.

"You called for me, sir." I regretted the words immediately they left my mouth after seeing his reaction.

"I do not have to call for you! You should have the ability to come to work without being invited first!" He snapped.

Okay, I deserved that. "I am I'm a week long break..."

"No part if that break says you should not report to work. I am certain that we already had this conversation." He stated.

I nodded. "yes we have. I was already dressed and ready for work but something came up..."

"Not my business." He snapped.

I nodded then kept my mouth shut. I was used to his mood swings by now. It was better dealt with if you pretended like you were alone in the office.

That way, you did not have to feel ignored. It made more sense to do it that way. I lived to be in a bubbly environment and when I was not in one, I liked to be busy. That is why I chose fashion designing as my profession. I loved my hands to be involved in one thing or the other. It was like the perfect work for me.

"I hope that the happenings of today would not repeat itself." He said after a while.

He was still writing on the files but I nodded my head rigorously. "of course. I'll try my best to be early."

"I am not paying you to try your best. I am paying you to deliver the demands of this job." He snapped.

I wanted to roll my eyes. Did he have to make everything into some sort of tug of war. Just let everything happen in a peaceful way but no! He would rather have chaos than leave for more reasons than one.

"Every single time I come here, you do not have a job for me. I just sit here and look at you. If I am not doing anything, why do you complain?" I found myself asking.

He dropped his own then finally looked up to meet my eyes. "You are the same person who went around complaining to my personal assistant that your workload was too much." He accused.

I flushed. I remember that. I was practically working like a goat during that period. He was going to at least two events in a single day. I was buying fabrics, making clothes, putting racks together, traveling. It was a lot.

I took in a deep breath. "I am the same person. I am not complaining that you eased my workload..."

"I did not ease your workload." He denied. "I have stopped all functions and media appearances for now. I have work to do. The schedule would soon be back up." He clarified.

I rolled my eyes. Did he really have to tell me that? Could he not just pretend like he did it for me? What is so hard in doing that? I would have actually appreciated that from him.

"By the way," I said ignoring his comments. "I am happy that I have stress relief for a few days, even after you made me make four outrageous outfits. I just want you not go call me if I do not have with to do. I'd rather enjoy the little freedom I have than come here and stare at you." I explained to him.

"So you have been staring at me?" He asked.

I scoffed. "is that really all you could take from everything I just said to you?"

He leaned back in his seat and stared at me. "answer my question. Stop deviating."

You are the one who is deviating! I wanted to tell him but I stopped myself. It's of no use trying to argue with him. If he wants, he always ends up winning in the end.

"If I stare at you then it has to be normal. You are the only one in this office with me." I told him.

He shook his head. "you could look at the furniture. Any other thing, but you chose to stare at me." I could tell that he was teasing me. He found this whole ordeal amusing and entertaining.

I scoffed. "no, thank you! I would rather state at living things."

He nodded, his face blank as he said. "what is your schedule for today?"

I raised my brows then asked myself the same question. What is my schedule for today? I do not even know.

I just wanted to go home and sleep after having a bucket of ice cream but I was just ready for Lillian's rants and opinions. I would rather stay out till I was sure she was fast asleep.

I took in a deep breath, leaned back in my seat then said, "none. I'll just go around town doing nothing."

"How productive." He said.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm on a resting leave. I'm not to be productive. I'm supposed to be as unproductive as I possibly can be. That's the point."

He scoffed. "not my business. Though, I have an offer for you." He said.

O raised my brows suspiciously. He seemed to be having a lot if offers for me recently. I did not know how I felt about that.

He did not bother to let me speak before he said, "I'd like you to come to my penthouse then help out things."
