Chapter 79: Lost track of time...

"Why would I want to break up with my boyfriend?" I asked her.

"Because I feel that he's not going to make a difference in your life!" She insisted, getting riled up and throwing  the napkin on the table.

Okay, I did not really have a boyfriend but I was not going to sit here and have anybody make me feel like I am used to making the wrong life choices.

I will not just let this slide. If I continue to let things like this slide, I was going to be hurting myself in the process.

What if I really had a boyfriend? Would I just break up with him because Lilian felt that she did not like him? Would I just give everything up just because she did not have a good opinion about it.

All my life I have struggled for control, to have something that screamed me. That's my job. She wants a man that would limit my working habit. A man that would limit my freedom. A man she could control.

I do not want that. I will not condone that. I love her but no, there was only so much I could take.

I stood up. "It does not matter what you feel, Lilian. Your choices, perceptions and views can not be what I use to make my life choices. I will not be breaking up with my boyfriend because you feel he's not right for me. I will be staying with him because I want to."

Lilian was silent for a while. Hey eyes glaring daggers at me. "why are you trying to be defiant?" She asked.

"How does me making my own life choices lead to me being defiant? This is me just trying to be honest. My honesty matters too." I tried to explain everything to her calmly.

This did not have to be an argument. I could pass my point across without getting anyone angry or emotional. Even if we were having a face off, I love her and respect her. That would always be a constant reminder to keep my words nice and reasonable.

I just needed her to see things from my own point if view. Fir her to understand that it's not easy to let another person take the control that you have been fighting to get from your life just when you finally get your hands on it.

Lilian shook her head. "no, you are bring defiant right now. You have to break up with him. He's making you do things I don't like. He's a bad influence."

"I am not breaking up with my boyfriend, Lilian! That is not happening. Not now, not anytime soon. I am with someone I want to be with. That is all that should matter to you. You don't have to like him, you don't have to approve of him. Just accept my decision and please try not to advise me to leave him. It's not right." I said to her.

There was another minute of silence. This time it was more uncomfortable than the last.

A lot had been said between us but I did not know if any of it mattered.

Her opinion on who I was with was worth a lot to me but I would not want to stop seeing someone just because she said so. Considering that she had not even met this man, that was a lot of strings opinions. To be honest, I did not know how to feel about that. It broke my heart. It honestly made me feel bad.

Lilian stood her ground. "Say what you want, Anastasia. I still stand on all I have said. I need you to break up with him. I have a nice and respectable guy I want you to meet. He's the best choice..."

"You can not tell her to break up with a guy then meet a guy just because you want her to." Greg interjected. He had been quiet through out the whole conversation.

I even thought he was not here for a while.

"I had been trying my best not to get involved. I wanted to see if you both could resolve the issues on your own but from all I have heard, that is not happening." Greg stated.

Lilian scoffed. "you would just say anything to rule out my opinion just because we are having issues."

Greg grunted. "your opinions are the reason we are having issues in the first place? Have you forgotten?"

Lilian scoffed again. "don't try to bring that up! U only have opinions that would make things better..."

"We should not deviate from the topic here. We are talking about you and Anastasia. Let's keep it at that did now." Greg dropped his newspaper after folding it then leaned back in his chair.

"You don't just have opinions Lilian, you have very string opinions. It's one to voice out your displeasure about who she's dating but it's another thing to ask that she breaks up with him." Greg explained.

I was glad that he was helping me out on this. I did not trust the words that would come out if my mouth if u had to deal with the situation on my own. It felt good to be able to have someone that could speak up for you. I was beyond grateful for that.

"Whatever she wants to do, it's get decision. Let her have it on her own." Greg told Lilian.

Lilian shook her head. "her decision is not right! I know what is best for her!"

"You can not know what is best for her more than her. It's just not possible. She is the one in the relationship, not you." Greg tried to reason with her.

I was about to add to what he says but then my phone pinged.

It was a text from my boss, Luciano.

From: Luciano Roberto

To: Anastasia Fisher

Anastasia, I can see that you have forgotten that you have a job as my stylist. You still need to report to work!

Oh my goodness! I lost track of time!
