Chapter Forty Eight: Haunted by my past

I felt my heart raced heavily, within my chest. As I waited for his question.

My feet shake, as I saw his lips parted, terrified of what he was going to ask me.

"Follow me," he said. While he reached for my right hand; pulling me behind him.

I felt tears filled my eyes, scared as hell, of where he was taking me.

I blink my eyes, swiftly; not wanting anyone on the road nor him to see. I was about to cry.

As he pulled me along with him, straight ahead of the red, dusty road.

I couldn't stop thinking of what he wanted to ask me.

Soon bad thoughts started to fill my head.

Was he carrying me to a secret spot to kill me; knowing I killed his brother?; I thought, worriedly.

The thought of that made me wanted to escape from him, right away.

I too wanted tell him the truth now. But, will he forgive me and still consider me as his mate?, I worried.

As he continued to pull me along with him, to who knows where. I wanted to shout at him. In letting me go and pulled my hand away from him. But I just couldn't. I was afraid to.

What if he hurts me?; I worried even more.

I didn't want him to do so.

I just couldn't bare to see, the man I love; in such way.

If anything should happen now. I only wanted to remember him, of how good he treated and love me.

I wanted to die; remembering the loving and protective person. He was, even though; I took his brother from him.

Soon we came off the red, dusty road and started off up a hill; that seems to bring a horrible memory to me.

"Hmmm..," I made a soft, worried sound.

The alpha didn't even turned around to look at me; he just continued to pull me along with him.

As I looked straight where he was taking me. I hit my left foot against a rock; almost falling.

I grimace my face in pain.

I thought he would turned around to see if I was hurt. But, he didn’t. He just continued to walk.

We were now over the large hill.

My eyes widen, shockingly. As I remembered the cell. I was forced to stay in, by my mate Liam; after he had prevented me from taking my full punishment.

I looked at the large building of the prison, scared; where I once was placed in.

Why was he taking me there? I worried; as we got closer to the gate.

I didn't wanted to go in there. The memory was too painful.

Tears escape my eyes; while we got even more closer to the gate.

I felt my heart raced even more within my chest; as I turned my head to the side, repeatedly; from left to right. As if I was going insane.

"Ha...!" I suddenly shouted; throwing my body to the floor.

Liam turned around quickly; Lifting me off, from the dusty ground. Into his arms.

"Avery," he called me. As I continued to scream.

I felt him pressed his face at the side of my face and kissed me; as I continued to scream, within his arms.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he kept on apologizing; as he lower himself to the ground; sitting on the dirty ground.

I stopped screaming; while my head turned side ways. I didn't want to look at him.

"I know it's painful for you to be here, after I once locked you up within there, he said to me. I'm here with you now, he again said. Nothing bad will happen to you."

I said nothing to him.

I then knew, the wolf he had found. That was some how connected to me. Didn’t let him know, what I had truly did.

For the alpha, would never treat me in such ways. Knowing what I did to his half brother.

I closed my eyes; as I felt him remove himself from the hard ground; with me still within his arms.

"Afternoon, alpha," I heard a guard at the gate, greeted him; as he open the gate for my mate.

The gate was closed behind us. While I felt the alpha, walked towards the large prison.

"Afternoon sir," I heard another man greeted him; my ear ring; hearing him opening the hard metal door of the prison.

As he continued to walk with me; while I closed my eyes.

I then felt him place me down. To stand.

"Open your eyes, my Luna," he instructed me.

As I slowly open my eyes; while he held me close at the side of his body.

My body jumped frightenly. While I heard a familiar voice.

"It's her, I heard the strange voice, said. It is her," the strange voice kept on saying.

I looked at the Alpha, scared as tell.

"Liam," I called him. As I cried.

He pulled my head to rest on his hard chest. As he wrapped his hands around me.

"I'm sorry babe, he again apologized;

Do you know her?" he inquired me.

Not wanting to see who it was.

I turned my head slowly and there. I saw who it was. I covered my mouth, in suprise.

It was not a member of the moon pack. But the old one eye lady. I accidentally met during the full moon; at my old home.

"It's her," she kept on saying; while she was locked up within a cell.

I continued to stare at the woman; while she pointed at me.

"Do you know her?" the alpha inquired me.

I shook my head; telling him yes.

Was this the reason why. He brought me here?, I thought.

To inquire me about her.

"How do you know this insane woman?" the alpha inquired me.

"During the full moon at the burned down place, the insane lady answered the alpha. I found her unconscious and pulled her within the home, I was staying," she explained.

"I save your Luna," the insane old woman laughed. Wanting the alpha to free her. After what she had done.

Liam then realized the time the insane lady found me. It was when he let me go; after his mother had visited him, within the cottage deep within the forest; we were staying.

The day in preparation for the mating ceremony.

"I'm sorry my luna, he apologised. I was so eager to get answers in finding out who killed my brother; I carried you here. Thinking you could help me, I'm sorry," he again apologized.

He kissed me on my forehead and called one of his men.

"Luke," he called.

"Yes sir," a tall, brown hair man came within the section of the building; that we were in.

"Please carry my Luna home," he ordered him.

"Okay," the man answered him; taking my hand.

"Grrrr....," I heard Liam growled.

The man, quickly place down his hand and inquired me, to please follow him.

I followed him and then stopped.

"What about her?" I inquired the alpha, aren't you going to let her go.

"No, he inquired me. I'll see you at home," he informed me; as I saw him entering the old lady cell.

As the man lead me, in exiting the prison. He then closed the door.

"Hah...!" I heard the old lady screamed.

I rushed towards the door; in wanting to save the lady. But another guard stopped me.

"I'm sorry Luna, he apologised. But I got strict instruction from the alpha to not let anyone in without his permission," he explained.

I cried; as the alpha's guard Luke took me home.

As I went home; I couldn't stop thinking of what he would done to me if he knew my horrible past.

I turned around, wanting to run to save the old lady life.

I was the one who deserve to be punish and not her.

The poor lady had nothing to do with his half brother death. I was.

As I tried to turned back. His guard would stop me everytime. But tried his best not to touch me.

I wept. Soon I was finally home.

I wipe away my tears. Not wanting anyone to see. I was crying.

Liam guard make sure. I was inside and save before he left.

As I entered the house Julene greeted me.

"Welcome home ms. Avery," she said.

I gave a fake smile; not wanting her to know I was sad. And started off upstairs.

Suddenly she stopped me.

"Ms. Avery," she again called me.

I turned around slowly and looked at her; while I stood ready to go upstairs.

"Someone is here to see you," she said.

"Doctor Alice," she said.

Hearing her name; got me very angry. My day was fucking horrible already. I

Just couldn't deal with her now.

"Tell her I wish to see no one, now," I informed her.

"Okay miss," the maid answer. As she went towards the room, the doctor was in.

"Avery, I heard Dr. Alice, running towards where I was. I need to speak to you quickly," she said. It's very important.

Julene, hurriedly went back to where she was; giving us privacy.

"What do you want with me now?" I inquired her angrily.

"Paisley and her mother is coming here now, she warned me. They've found out something about you and will be coming here to use it against you. So you can leave the alpha. And Paisely can have him all to herself."

What if she's tricking me; I thought angrily.

"Why are you telling me this?" I inquired her.

"For you have felt sorry for me; knowing, what I was forced to do.

You are indeed a great Luna," she smiled.

"Please be save," she said. As she hurriedly exit the house.

"Wait.," I tried to stop her. But, she ran away too fast.

I continued to stand on the stairs.

While I not only worried about the poor lady, being killed because of me, and Liam still searching for answers for his brother death; that will lead him to me very soon.

I too was now worried about what Paisley and her mom found out about me.

What could it possible be?, I thought.
