Chapter 55: Final Fight

Sienna's P.O.V.

Abnegazar and Rath are still staring at the crack where Ghast, Lizette, and Zion fell into. I can't let myself mourn the loss of our friends right now. We can't let the two remaining demons get the upper hand.

"Throw me at the demons," I tell Mav.

"What? No. They'll kill you," he replies, shaking his head.

"We need to do it now while they're distracted and weaker. I can eliminate one of them with my swords and send him through the crack to join Ghast. This may be our only chance," Mav sighs, then lifts me. I look over at Cassidy, and she's ready, too. Cruz paws at the ground, looking at the demons.

"Be careful," Mav says.

He kisses me and then throws me head-first toward the demons. I aim for Abnegazar because he's taller. He looks up just as I reach him and smiles sickeningly at me while holding his hands up. My swords stick him in his chest, and he screams as my body suddenly goes limp, and I fall to the ground. What happened? I look over to Rath as Cruz's horns pierce him, and he's tossed into the air. Cassidy has a lightning bolt in her hand and sticks it in Rath's chest. I try to move, but my body feels like it's filled with lead.

"Get up, Sienna. They're trying to take your energy. You can do this." I hear an unfamiliar voice in my head.

"Who are you?" I try to move, but I can't.

"I'm the goddess Astraea. I knew you would be the right Alpha to give all my power to. You're the only one who can save Earth. All of the other female Alphas thought the biggest threat was the King, but I knew there were bigger battles to fight. When Cassidy was released as the gem, I knew it was you who would need my power. Now it's time to kill the demons once and for all. Send them to hell, and Satan will do the rest. You can do it, Sienna. Get up and fight."

I can do this. I have to. I take a deep breath and try again. I still feel like I'm full of lead, but I push past it and use all my energy to get up. Abnegazar isn't looking at me. I make my swords appear and slowly raise my arms.

"Mav, I need your help. He's taking my energy. Can you lift me so I can stab him again and force him into the crack?" I look over, and Mav walks to the side where the demon won't see him. He lifts me off the ground, and I hold my arms up with his help. When Abnegazar turns, I plunge my sword into his abdomen. Zeida, Eva, and Mav help me push him toward the crack.

"Nooooo, you can't win. You're too weak." He screams as we all give him one final shove into hell. As soon as he's gone, the heaviness leaves me. We turn to Rath, who's fighting Cassidy and Cruz.

"Your brothers are gone, and you're next," I yell at him. I plunge my sword into his abdomen, and Cassidy throws a lightning bolt into his mouth. He's weak now without his brothers, so we have no problems sending him to Satan. As soon as he's gone, Cassidy closes the crack.

I fall to my knees and begin to cry. We won. It's over, but we lost Lizette and Zion. This wouldn't have been possible without them. Mav kneels next to me and pulls me into his arms. The wolves shift and go look for the pups and elders while the rest of us sit on the ground.

"I can't believe they're gone," Cassidy says from Cruz's lap.

"I know. Lizette warned me that someone would die, but I never thought it would be her and Zion." I cry against Mav's chest. Everyone else is crying with us.

"What is wrong with you guys? You won." I look up in disbelief. Lizette and Zion are standing next to us. I jump up and hug them so tight they almost fall over.

"We thought you were dead," I tell them as they laugh.

"We're both many centuries old. A couple of demons can't kill us. I'm from the underworld, and Zion is a vampire who can go to different realms. We knew taking out Ghast was our only shot at giving you guys a chance to beat the other two and allowing everyone to live. Satan will make sure they can't come back again." Lizette says as everyone takes turns hugging them.

The fight with the demons felt like it took days, but the sun is just now beginning to rise. It's the start of a new day, and we can finally be at peace. Everyone survived, thanks to Lizette and Zion.

"I think we need a break. Mav and I are going away for a few days to get some much-needed relaxation. While we're away, we'll make plans for a new pack house to be built." I look up at Mav, and he smiles. A few days with just the two of us is what we both need.

"Go enjoy yourselves. We'll take care of things here," Lizette says.

"Don't you guys want a break too?" I ask.

"Most of us have had nothing but a break for a long time. Eva, Zay, Cassidy, Cruz, Drake, and Mariela, why don't you join them? You all have been through enough. The rest of us will stay here." Kierra says.

"Sounds good to me," I say.

"Where do you want to go? I'll send you." Lizette says. I guess that would be easier.

"How about a tropical island? One that we can have for ourselves with cabins for each of us. Is that too big of a request?" I ask her. It sounds perfect to me.

"Nope. Hang on, I know the perfect place. Everything you'll need will be there, and I'll bring you back in a few days." Before we can respond, we're suddenly standing on the white sandy beach of a tropical island surrounded by teal-blue water. Four cabins are situated on the beach far enough apart that we're close but still have privacy.

"This is amazing," Cassidy says. As we all look around. I don't know if this is real or if Lizette somehow sent us to a place she made up, but I'll take it. My whole body suddenly gets really hot. I begin shaking and feel like I need to strip out of my clothes.

"What's wrong?" Mav asks. I look at him and smile.

"I'm in heat. Get me to a cabin now." He lifts me and flies to the closest cabin while I wave at the others, who are laughing. Well, what better way to spend our vacation than in bed? We'll get plenty of alone time. Hopefully, by the time our vacation is over, we'll have our first pup on the way. It may not be what we planned, but what better way to start over after everything that happened? When we get in the cabin, Mav puts me on my feet, and I strip out of my clothes.

"I love you, Mav."

"I love you too, my incredible Alpha. I can't wait to start on this next journey with you." He kisses me as he carries me to the bed. Who knows what the future will bring? Whatever happens, I know we will get through it because we have each other.
