Chapter 19: HUNGER

Two people dragged Dale along with them, while Elsa walked on her own, Karl on her left and other bulky man that had held her on her right. She knew it was preventive measure, and they needed to contain her in case she decided to leave. But Karl knew she wouldn’t. After all, they had Dale. His one mistake with her parents had been to separate them, so when he killed her mother, he couldn't control her father anymore. Now he knew better. And he would do better. He stole a glance at her, then at Dale and shook his head. He was only going to use Dale for control. But to achieve her full potential and be the vampire making machine he wanted her to be, she was better off without a soft spot.

"Why did you do that to my parents?" She was looking down at her feet, her hair covering her face”

"Cause I could." Came Karl's nonchalant reply.

Her fists clenched, her muscles tensing. The next time her voice came, it was shaking, more from anger than vulnerability. "You killed them both cause you wanted to?" She reframed his answer as a question and this time she looked up to him, her head tilt sideways, biting down on her lower lip, the bags that had formed under her eyes now red.

"Ew. You look gross." He laughed.

"Answer the question."

He shrugged. "Because I can, is part of the reasons. What happened was unfortunate." He turned to Dale and the two men holding him. "Bring him." He turned and held Elsa's hand and before she could protest, they were out of sight.

Before Dale could protest about her disappearance, he was off into a world that seemed to spiral, everything rushing at him and then past him. He closed his eyes tight against the motion and his body grew weaker.

"What is this place?" Elsa was standing, looking around the place, something that looked like a hideous and a makeshift hospital. It had beds, chains, syringes around, then a vast, sparsely furnitured space ahead of it.

"Where you'll be staying for now." She turned to him. "Why would I stay here?"

Karl shrugged.

"Cause I want you to."

She hated his confidence, his guts. It irked her and made her hair stand on end. He slowly sat her down, just as she heard muffled words coming from outside the fairly lit room in Dale's voice. "Don’t do anything to him."

He made a face. "Don’t you trust me?" He put a dramatic hand to his chest and another to his forehead, as if acting the role of a double-faced scheming witch in a medieval play. She rolled her eyes to it. "I won’t touch him…for as long as he remains useful to me."

She turned to him. "That wasn’t the agreement." He stopped moving around her chair and supported his chin with his hand, slowly moving one finger to hit his lips gently.

"I don’t remember having a deal with you." He said with a resounding laugh. She tried to stand, only to find that she couldn't. Her muscles started to feel weak, her breathing faltering, her legs numb. "And, oh! I must have forgotten." He pointed at the chair she was sitting on. "That isn’t exactly the best place for a vampire. I had it infused strongly with Oakwood bits. So, it'll slowly start to drain you. You'll just become weaker, don’t worry. You wont die. It is mostly to guarantee that you won't do anything stupid."

She was too weak to protest as he shifted her hair to her left and pulled down her hoodie. He then brought an off-shoulder dress and started to wear it over her head, then pulled out her hands from the sleeves of the holder and dragged it down her legs. He then wore the dress on her. It had a slim hand that left her neck and shoulders open and also stopped right above her knee. "You look more like a sexy vampire now. Not the trash the human was making you wear."

"Give it back." Her voice came as a weak low sound as her head rested on the back rest of the chair. He shook his head and walked behind her, then lowered his head to her shoulder, looking up to the giant mirror that faced them.

"We can't see ourselves in a mirror, is that even fair? How do they expect us to appreciate the beauty standing here?" He nuzzled his nose on her neck, stuck out his tongue and gave a lick. She hated the way it felt on her skin, but she was too weak to protest or move away.

"Vampires everywhere in the world....Such a beautiful sight. And you...will be my main instrument to achieve this." He leaned again and started nibbling her neck, sucking the tender skin. He traced his lips up to her earlobe and continued to bite and suck. "Your parents ruined this the first time. You wouldn’t have been born In this world, but one ruled by vampires." He laughed and violently drew her hair to the side, so she could tilt her head, giving him more access.

"Leave me.” He laughed and drew her back to touch the seat a bit, and she immediately felt weaker.

"I own you now, and I'll do anything I want to." He slid his hand in her bare back and started to caress her. "My world...it will be so perfect." He unzipped the dress, even though he had zipped it up himself. He started to trace her body down, at the same time, devouring her neck and shoulders. "Can the human do this?" he said with a mocking undertone. Her vision was a bit blurry, her hearing faltering, but she didn’t miss it when he said, "Your parents were stupid cowards. I sure hope you are not, so I don’t have to...you know."

She didn’t know how she got the strength, but she turned around and punched his nose, causing him to reel back. She stood, her body feeling weak. He opened his mouth and called out, the bulky man came in, holding and oak stick. "I am hungry," was the last thing she said, and he heard, before she went for his unsuspecting neck.
