Chapter 24

Baek's POV

She nods her head. "But how are we going to leave the school without getting caught!"

"Follow me." We jog and hide behind a large tree.

"Wait here." I check if anyone had seens us but everybody is busy running to the school hall. I see Makayla who is searching for Hera.

"Did any of you see Hera?" She asks other students about her whereabouts but they have no idea either. Jacob holds her hand and says she is in the school hall already.

They jog into the school hall hopefully to find Hera there.

I lean back . "Move a little." She gets behind me and I use my mind to open a portal in the tree.

"Wow!" She freaks awes in amazement.

I hold her hand and smile. "Do you trust me?"

She nods her head. "Yes."

I enter the portal halfway first and lend a hand to her. She holds my hand tight. As we pass through the portal, it closes immediately.

We appear at the front of my massive mansion. Since it's morning, the fogs are not as much as they used to be. She gazes at the mesmerizing view before her and returns her gaze back at me and I smile a little. I like the surprised look on her face. She looks at my house behind me and slowly moves closer to it.

"What is this place?" She questions in a very low tone.

"My home. Would you like to take a quick look inside?"

She locks eyes with me without saying a word but what I see in her eyes is a big yes.

I stand before the large door, and it slowly opens, it shuts itself immediately after we step inside the house..

"This is like ten times the size of my house. You live in a fucking castle!" She rushes to the living area and can't seem to shut her mouth in disbelief and awe.

She plops herself to sit on the large couch and moves recklessly around them.

She rushes to the kitchen and inspects it too.

"Oh my god!" She runs back. "You can do whatever you want here!"

"I am so overwhelmed right now." She moves next to the dining room again and screams real hard.

"This is even bigger than my backyard. Please tell me you don't stay alone,"

"Of course, I do. Want to live with me?"

She ignores my question.

"How do you manage to sleep at night, all alone to yourself?"

I laugh because of the expression on her face.

"That is a dumb question, Hera. How do you sleep in your room at night too?"

"Are you kidding? My room is like half the size of your kitchen or something. This is a fucking castle except for the dark themes."

"Dark themes?" I fake oblivion. "What dark things?"

She sighs and lies down on the couch. "Almost everything is colored black in here. But hey I won't judge, You have your own weird personal taste. Everyone does. It's personal preference."

I walk into the kitchen and pour myself a glass of water.

"Hey, Baek." She calls out. "Could you show me where you plucked that rose from?"

"Sure". I fetch another cup of water for Hera too. I hand it to her "Water?"

She collects it. "Thanks" She drinks a little before handing the cup back over to me.

"Let's go" The distance between the living room and the door is a little long. Instead of walking to the door, I teleport us outside the house instead.

We walk a little before finally arriving at the lake side. "Are there no houses around here?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Well I haven't seen anyone since I arrived".

"All this is my habit. The rivers, the forests." I sigh and dip my hands into the pockets of my PE shorts.

"You know, this is the only thing I find peaceful in my life. And of course three more people."

She looks at me in curiosity. "Who are they?"

"My mom, my pet, and a girl" I expect her to know who the girl is but she doesn't have the slightest idea.

"A pet? you never told me you had a pet. And a girl? Who is she?"

I smile at her. "She is right here."

She pauses as if she knows who I am referring to. "You mean in your house?"

I scoff. "Come on, let's head back to school."

"But I want to meet this pet of yours. Doesn't it have a name?"

"No."

"Why? You didn't give her a name?"

I ignore her and open a Portal leading to the back of the school where no one would notice.

We enter the portal and it closes.
