Chapter 37: his room needs changes

Pearl’s P.O.V.

“Am I supposed to live here now?” I asked Killian while scowling and he immediately growled. “I have already cleared you that after marriage, you will live with me here. What’s with this scowl, woman?” he asked angrily.

“What’s with this scowl? Look at your room, Killian. Everything is in bland colours. Black, white and grey… that’s it. Can’t you see other colours? Are you a colour blind?” I asked mockingly, my hands resting on my hips.

I gasped in horror when he suddenly grabbed my neck. His grip wasn’t tight, but he took me off guard.

“You are my mate, Pearl, but it doesn’t mean that you will disrespect me.” He threatened me, and my anger flared.

“Disrespect you? In what I disrespect you?” I asked while poking my finger hard on his chest.

Well, I winced in pain because his chest was rock hard.

I loved touching it by the way.

Okay, back to the argument…..

“You called me colour blind?” he grumbled, slowly moving his hand away from my neck.

“And what was wrong with that? Look around you and think about my room. Can you tell me what’s the main difference between our rooms?” I asked him, once again, my hands resting on my hips.

“Okay, my love. I got you.” He raised his hands in surrender. I smirked smugly. He thought that he could win an argument from me.

Well, dream on.

“You want to change the interior? Go ahead and do whatever you want to do. I don’t have any problem with your choice of colours. You want to change this place like your room, then go ahead and do. Spare me with details.” He continued and I grinned.

I immediately raised my hand towards him, grinning expectantly.

“What?” he asked, looking at me warily.

“Money,” I demanded shamelessly. He jerked his head backward in confusion.

“Pearl, you are a millionaire yourself, and you are asking me for money?” he asked while reminding me about my financial status.

“I am broke now. I used my own money to decorate my chambers. Those…. Those b**tards destroyed everything. I need money now.” I explained, giving him a pitiful look.

“Goddess!” he grumbled but took his card out of his pocket. My grin went wide from ear to ear immediately.

I almost snatched the card from his hands. “But you still haven’t delivered my next batch of clothes.” He asked, and I moved towards the nightstand to get my clutch.

After that attack in this afternoon, he dragged me here and told me that I will stay with him from now on. I didn’t get anything from my chamber. Lucifer told me that he will bring my stuff later. For now, I only had my phone and my clutch with me.

“I have already submitted the drafts of your clothes for manufacturing. As they are exclusive, it will take time because my personal team of seamstresses work on that.” I told him nonchalantly, thinking about making a list to change everything here.

“Maya is still sleeping?” Killian suddenly asked, and I froze.

“We can’t set a date for our marriage before Maya wakes up. You know that, right?” he asked me while wrapping his hands from behind.

“Yeah… I don’t know why she is taking so much time. It… it’s not like we were emotionally attached to that p*ick.” I replied honestly, resting the back of my head on his chest.

“But you accepted him.” He remarked angrily, and I smiled.

I slowly moved towards him in his embrace and wrapped my hands around his torso.

“I accepted him because it was the Moon Goddess’ decision for me. I have no other thoughts or feelings towards him at that time.” I told him with a faint smile on my lips.

“What about me?” he asked me immediately I moved my face here and there as if I was thinking seriously.

“Pearl.” He called my name in warning, making me giggle.

“Well, I admit that the force of attraction towards you is stronger than what I felt towards Jonah, Killian. Because of Maya’s absence, I couldn’t realize at that very instant that you are my second chance fated mate, but the attraction towards you was stronger, strong enough to tempt me to go near you and embrace you.” I admitted truthfully, looking straight into his eyes.

He smiled and kissed my forehead. “When did you realize it?” He asked me in a low voice, his soft lips still brushing my forehead.

“Does it matter?” I asked him softly, closing my eyes, feeling the sparks originated by our proximity, and the softness of his lips.

“No, it doesn’t matter. But you understand that we need to keep this hidden, right?” he asked me and I took a deep breath.

Sadly, I also understood the reason of why he didn’t announce to the world that I am his mate.

After the attack, it was crystal clear to me, that this announcement can put my life at more risk than it was already because he chose me as his marriage partner, and he was going to mark me as his chosen mate during our wedding.

“Xavier is behind this attack, right?” I asked him in a low voice after some time. His lips were still resting on my forehead.

“We didn’t get any evidence about that, but whatever we got indicated Hailey’s involvement in bringing those lycans inside the pack. The border security is so tight that they can’t enter this deep in the pack without being noticed until someone from inside help them.” He answered, and I slowly opened my eyes.

“Hailey. The one who.” I didn’t finish my question, because I felt a slight pang of pain in my chest.

“That was past, love. I am more than hundred years old, and you are,” he paused, and I slowly looked up.

The way his body stiffened, I was sure that there was something that he never told anyone.

“Killian,” I called him softly, cupping his face, looking at his scar.

“Don’t ask me about how I got this scar, love. If… if you also feel disgust, I… I can.” His voice cracked and I put my finger on his lips to make him shut up.

“This scar always attracted me, Killian. There is nothing to feel disgust about it.” I assured him, slowly caressing that scar. I was sincere on my words because his tense body immediately slumped.
