Chapter 80: Kneel Down, Begging You to Save Her

Henry had no choice but to leave, with Bethany following him out of the ward.

"Henry, where are you going?" Bethany asked.

"To drink," He answered.

"Drinking this early? Are you out of your mind?" Bethany was stunned.

Henry glanced at him coldly, makingBethany shut his mouth.

They didn't go drinking but drove to a riverside, standing on a bridge to catch the breeze.

Bethany felt a bit helpless. Was Henry, in the middle of summer, here to catch the breeze or sunbathe?

Henry pulled out a pack of cigarettes, tapped one out, and held it between his lips. One hand shielding the wind, the other pressing the lighter. He lit the cigarette and took a deep drag, his expression growing even colder amidst the swirling smoke.

"What happened between you and Diana? The atmosphere was fine last night, but it's weird today." Bethany couldn't help but ask.

Bethany, though single, wasn't stupid.

"She called me her friend in front of a man," Henry said.

"A rival in love?" Bethany's interest was piqued instantly. "I've heard some things about Diana, but she seems gentle and soft-spoken. I can guarantee, if it weren't for her relationship with you, she'd have a bunch of suitors."

"Also, you haven't publicly acknowledged your relationship with her. What's wrong with her calling you a friend?"

"Should she say you're just friends with benefits?"

Henry took a hard drag on his cigarette and said nothing.

"Henry, are you jealous?" Bethany laughed gloatingly.

"I'm not." Henry denied firmly.

Simon's pride somewhat came from Henry. He was very jealous inside but refused to admit it.

Bethany laughed out loud, holding a blade of grass in his mouth as he hummed.

Henry's mouth twitched, wishing he could kick him into the river.

"By the way, leaving Diana and Juniper alone, won't there be any trouble?" Bethany asked suddenly, halfway through his humming.

"You don't know my mom? Would she make things difficult for her?" Henry retorted.

Bethany clicked his tongue, "That's true. Juniper has always been hoping for a daughter-in-law. Even if you brought home a pig, she'd be happy, let alone Diana being so pretty."

Henry felt like Bethany had been testing his limits all day.

In the hospital, Diana had just finished breakfast when the police arrived.

Considering her physical and mental state last night, they didn't take her to the police station for a statement. Today, they came to make up for it and update her on the case progress.

According to Aurora's confession, she held a grudge because of a previous argument with Diana. That's why she thought of hiring someone to kidnap her.

Afterward, there was no news from the thugs, and Aurora thought something must've gone wrong. Worried she'd be connected, she planned to flee abroad.

"Thanks to Mr. Spencer for having someone keep an eye on her, we were able to stop her at the airport in time," the police officer said with a smile.

It had only been a night since Diana was kidnapped. Based on the evidence the police had, it wasn't enough to prove that Aurora was the mastermind behind the whole thing. They hadn't even assigned officers to monitor her. It was her own impatience that gave her away.

"That's the current situation of the case," the police summarized.

"Thank you, everyone, for your hard work," Juniper said, handing disposable cups of water to the officers, making Diana feel a bit embarrassed.

The officers smiled. "It's our duty."

"In such hot weather, running around for this sake is really tough. Let me go wash some fruits for you." Juniper offered.

Juniper was too polite, and the officers declined several times before preparing to leave.

"Will she go to jail?" Diana asked.

Juniper had been in Velvet City recently and knew a bit about the Windsors.

Aurora was Diana's cousin, and Juniper was furious that she could do something so heinous.

When Diana asked that, Juniper said directly, "She must go to jail! You can't let her off!"

"This is a serious matter, and Aurora is the mastermind. She could be sentenced to over ten years," the officer said bluntly. "This is a criminal case."

Even if Diana didn't pursue it, the police wouldn't let her off.

After the police left, Diana and Juniper were left alone. Since they weren't that close, it was inevitably a bit awkward.

Especially with Juniper's inconsistent attitude, Diana couldn't figure out her personality and was cautious in dealing with her.

"Did Henry give you a hard time just now?" Juniper asked.

"No," Diana replied with a smile and a shake of her head.

"Henry has been mischievous since he was a child," Juniper frowned. "You have such a good temper and even spoil him. No wonder he bullies you."

"He didn't bully me. If it weren't for him, I can't imagine what would've happened last night," Diana explained.

Thinking about it now, she still felt scared.

Juniper smiled. "He's a man; he needs to protect his woman."

Diana didn't know how to respond to that.

Juniper glanced at her watch. "It's almost noon. What would you like to eat? I'll get it for you."

"I just had breakfast, so I'm not hungry," Diana said.

"But you still need to eat on time. Henry's father always had his every meal late and ended up with stomach problems."

Juniper was so enthusiastic that Diana couldn't refuse.

After Juniper left, Diana stayed alone in the room for a while before remembering to get her test results.

It was a good time to get the results now. When the time came, you could retrieve them from a machine.

Diana finally got her blood test report. Since she had inhaled too much ether, she felt light-headed and weak all over, so there were more tests than usual.

As Diana was checking each data indicator, she heard a familiar voice calling her. "Diana,"

She instinctively looked up to see Celeste running toward her, looking haggard. Before she could react, Celeste grabbed her arms. "Diana, you have to save Aurora!"

Celeste had been in the hospital taking care of Nathan, not paying much attention to Aurora. She had just received the news that Aurora was arrested for kidnapping Diana.

When she got to the police station, Aurora was crying her heart out, begging Celeste to save her.

As a mother, Celeste couldn't remain indifferent. After finding out Diana was at this hospital, she rushed over to look for a long time before finally finding Diana.

Celeste's hair was disheveled. She was exhausted from running around, sweaty and no longer having the dignified demeanor of a wealthy lady.

"Sorry, I can't!" Diana shook off Celeste's hand, put the test results into a folder, and turned to leave.

Celeste hurried to catch up. "It was her fault this time. I'm apologizing on her behalf. Please, save her."

"I can't do anything," Diana said coldly.

"Diana, Nathan and I raised you since you were little. Can you really stand by and watch your own cousin go to prison?" Celeste sobbed, tears streaming down her face. "I'm begging you, please!"

She knelt behind Diana.

Her action attracted a lot of attention, and people immediately started commenting on Diana.
