Chapter 7 Engagement
Kelsey was stunned and didn't know what to answer when the impeccably handsome man was still crouching in front of her while carrying a box containing two rings which were once beautiful.
A pair of charming bright green eyes stared at her without expression. He was still waiting for her answer, but Kelsey didn't even make a sound.
Until his father, Andrew Lieven, cleared his throat and managed to surprise her.
Kelsey seemed to have no choice but to answer with a 'Yes', so she calmed herself down and replied, "Yes. I want to marry you."
Weylin was not surprised by that answer. Who would refuse him? That woman must be crazy if she rejected him.
Everyone started clapping boisterously after Kelsey's answer was heard. Weylin, still with his flat expression, put the smaller ring on Kelsey's left finger.
Kelsey frowned in surprise, not expecting the ring to fit her finger.
How did it happen? They had just met, but how could Weylin know the ring size of her finger?
She was absolutely certain that it must have been his future father-in-law who had prepared the rings for them. Kelsey had to remind herself that they were an arranged marriage.
Oh, Kelsey really wanted to get out of this claustrophobic house. She couldn't take it anymore.
Seeing Weylin's hideous face already sent chills down his spine. How could she live together with that cold man? That's really terrible. She didn't want to imagine it.
When Kelsey was absorbed in her own thoughts, suddenly Leana Lieven nudged her arm and immediately the beautiful girl realized.
Oh. I have to put that ring on too, Kelsey thought.
Kelsey with a slightly trembling hand, took the ring from Weylin's right hand. Weylin then stretched out his left hand and slowly Kelsey placed the ring on Weylin's ring finger.
And once again, Kelsey was shocked. She really wanted to congratulate her future father-in-law on choosing the right ring size for his son and her.
Weylin glanced at Kelsey before getting back to his feet and sitting back in his chair.
Arlen, who had been unable to take his eyes off his brother, whispered in a very low voice.
"You're so cool, Bro. That was very romantic," Arlen said, holding back a smile.
Weylin immediately turned and glared at his younger brother.
Arlen, who was sitting right beside him, of course, immediately smiled broadly until his neat white teeth were clearly visible.
That sharp look that seemed to say 'You want to die?' But, that didn't scare Arlen at all.
As if it wasn't enough to tease Weylin, now Keiran walked openly towards his older brother and said in a loud voice, "Bro, you're so amazing. I can't wait for your wedding day."
The man then hugged his older brother who was sitting.
Weylin froze in place.
He really wanted to throw his youngest brother away. His younger brother looked like he really wanted to die in his hands.
And unfortunately, Neal, who usually doesn't talk too much, said, "Yes. I agree. When's the wedding day, Dad?"
Damn it, you guys are really impudent, thought Weylin while giving an annoyed look at his three younger siblings who were ignored by them. They seemed very compact and wanting to annoy their eldest brother.
Ansgar Malachy laughed then glanced at the future daughter-in-law whose face was now even redder. Kelsey's face was like a boiled crab ready to be cooked.
Andrew also laughed when he saw his daughter, who was embarrassed.
Leana, who did not accept that her daughter was being laughed at, immediately pinched her husband's arm and said,
"Hey, you embarrassed your daughter half to death."
Andrew then rubbed the back of his beloved daughter and said, "Uh, my dear. You don't need to be ashamed. We have no intention of teasing you."
Ansgar then added, "Yes, Dear. You will soon be part of our family. So please get used to what my sons say. They are just too excited about their brother's wedding."
Zuria Malachy smiled and joined in, "That's right, honey. Your daddy was right. They were just kidding."
Zuria turned to her husband, who was still trying hard to hold back his laughter.
Kelsey was taken aback. She didn't hear, right? Zuria had said, "Your father," but what she looked at was not Andrew, but her husband.
Wait! They are not married yet. Isn't it very strange if Zuria said that? Kelsey thought.
Kelsey was getting flustered.
Weylin wanted so badly to bury himself alive now. His parents didn't help at all. He saw the confusion on the girl's face and this just made things worse.
Even though Weylin had planned to try to cancel his engagement with Kelsey. He accepted the engagement first and would call it off some time later.
However, after seeing the arbitrary reactions of his family members and their different chatter, Weylin became confused.
"Zuria, don't be like that. He's getting embarrassed," Ansgar said, but he still smiled.
For some reason, Ansgar liked the girl from the first time he met her.
He had met the girl several years ago and knew she was a good girl. He had been eyeing the girl for a long time to become his daughter-in-law. He would no longer be able to find a nice girl like Kelsey.
Zuria gave Kelsey an apologetic laugh before then saying back, "Then hurry up and pick a date so we can eat right away. We're all starving, Mr. Malachy."
Ansgar then put on a serious expression and thought for a moment. Andrew himself also seemed to be thinking while waiting for Ansgar's answer.
"How about next month?"
Ansgar's suggestion immediately made Kelsey's heart feel like it was leaving her body. Even now, Weylin was as stiff as a rock. He couldn't believe his father had said that.
"Isn't that too fast?" Andrew said.
He looked shocked.
Ansgar nodded. Weylin was suddenly overjoyed that his future father-in-law said so, but he shook his head again. How could he have named Andrew Lieven as his future father-in-law? He's starting to go crazy, it seems.
Zuria was very disappointed when Andrew refused. Then, afraid that her husband would say something stupid, she said, "In three months. How about that?"
This time it was Leana's turn to answer, "I agree. Three months is enough to prepare them."
"Oh, yes, that's right. Three months is not too long and not too fast. They can get to know each other first," Ansgar said.
Andrew nodded then replied, "I agree. Everything will be ready in three months' time."
Weylin's life seemed to float from his body.
Kelsey even stared blankly at the wall as if she was being told to kill herself.
The three Weylin brothers naturally observed the two people silently. The three of them couldn't even stop themselves from commenting.
Then, of course, Arlen was the first to speak in a cheerful voice, "Dad, then let me design their wedding dresses and outfits."
Instantly, Weylin turned to his younger brother.
