Chapter 8 Anothe Plan
Weylin felt like he wanted to strangle Arlen when his own brother even seemed to be playing a prank on him by deliberately offering to help make his wedding costume later.
The famous designer even flashed his smile to Weylin as if he was very excited about his eldest brother's wedding. Weylin couldn't help but growl as he glared at Arlen.
Unfortunately, Arlen looked away and again asked Kelsey whose face was still as red as a tomato, "Does Miss Lieven agree if I make Miss's wedding dress?"
Kelsey bit her lip for a few seconds before responding, "I'm fine."
Weylin didn't expect the girl's answer but of course he couldn't do anything. He couldn't possibly say that his and the girl's marriage would not necessarily happen.
Even though he was quite uncomfortable with the talk of his wedding plans with Kelsey, Weylin tried hard to remain normal considering his fiancée's family, uh he still felt awkward calling Kelsey Lieven his fiancee, still in his house.
He couldn't wait for them to come home, glancing at the gold antique wall clock decorated with doves of the same color. It was still eight in the evening.
Usually the time when visitors went home was nine o'clock in the evening. So he was forced to make himself more patient.
Ansgar had noticed his eldest son who seemed uncomfortable there but he ignored it.
Weylin was actually feeling quite irritated because it seemed like time was moving so slowly. Kelsey also seemed uneasy sitting among the wonderful Malachy family all that.
However, Kelsey was lucky enough when Leana, her mother nudged her husband's arm and whispered something.
Kelsey couldn't hear her but then her father suddenly said, "Well, Ansgar. I think that's enough for now. It's getting late. We have to go home."
Zuria Malachy replied, "Oh, yes. Even though I still want to get to know my future daughter-in-law better."
The woman's voice sounded very disappointed.
"Oh, put it this way. What if it's our turn to visit there? The quicker the introductions make us closer. How about that?" Zuria added.
Leana smiled seeing Zuria who looked so excited and she replied, "Of course. I agree. We are ready to receive your family at any time, madam."
"Oh, don't call me that. Shouldn't we just call names so we can get along better?" Zuria said and she smiled kindly.
"That's right. You're right," Leana agreed, then smiled. Ansgar was very happy to hear that his wife and his friend's wife were getting along.
Andrew himself was also relieved because Leana was able to quickly get close to Ansgar's wife. Ansgar and Andrew have been friends since they were in high school.
However after they graduated from college, they rarely met and didn't even attend each other's weddings because of their busy schedules.
They just met again and at that time Ansgar, who was visiting his best friend, saw Andrew's daughter who looked good.
Unfortunately, after that brief meeting, the family moved away and they no longer kept in touch. But some time ago, they were reunited at their high school reunion.
They reminisce about their past and suddenly think of matchmaking their children to further strengthen their friendship.
Zuria hugged Kelsey goodbye and said, "I am so happy to have such a beautiful daughter-in-law like you soon."
Kelsey simply replied, "Thank you."
She couldn't possibly reply that she was also happy to have betrothed to Weylin since the facts were clearly different.
Weylin didn't say a word and just nodded politely at them as they took their leave.
After the family car disappeared from their sight, Zuria immediately said, "How is it, Weylin? Do you like her? She is very beautiful, isn't she? Does it match the type of woman you want?"
Weylin suddenly coughed because he didn't expect his mother to be so direct about asking such a thing. His three siblings were already giggling incoherently as if they were mocking him.
But Weylin replied, "She's indeed beautiful. But there are many prettier women out there."
Zuria glared at her son then replied, "Women out there don't have a good personality like Kelsey."
"How did you know that Kelsey is a good woman? You just met her, how can you judge someone's personality in just one meeting?" Weylin asked casually.
Ansgar was silent and only paid attention to the small debate that occurred between his son and his wife.
"From the way she looks at it we can see. You know, Weylin. You must know and realize. That girl doesn't like you," Zuria said frankly.
Arlen couldn't take it anymore and burst out laughing. Weylin immediately glared at his younger brother. Neal and Keiran just smirked because for them this was good entertainment.
This was because it was the first time for them saw their eldest brother confused. The perfect man who didn't have the slightest flaw looked confused by what was happening to him.
"It was obvious that she refused this arrange marriage," Zuria continued as she walked into their house followed by her four sons and her husband.
"So why? Maybe she's just pretending she doesn't like me. Even though she likes me ....”
“Hey, you're really overconfident, Son," Zuria cut in.
"Okay, let's pretend she doesn't like me. Then if it's clear she doesn't like me why should the marriage continue? Why I can not cancel it?" Weylin asked in a slightly higher tone than before.
Zuria exhaled slowly then replied, "Because she doesn't like you means she is the right woman for you. She is not dazzled by your possessions. Your physique. That woman will be able to truly love you.”
Weylin paused. He never thought his mother would have such thoughts.
Seeing her son who seemed unable to return her words, Zuria smiled and left Weylin.
Neal followed his mother along with Keiran. Meanwhile, Arlen stayed there.
"Why are you silent?" Arlen asked.
"This is too ridiculous," Weylin replied without looking at his handsome brother.
Arlen frowned in confusion.
The man replied, "What's so ridiculous?"
"Everything. This impromptu engagement. The wedding plans. Uh, why did I have to go through something like this?” Weylin rubbed his face roughly.
"You shouldn't have to worry about something like this, Big Bro. After all, you can't refuse it. You yourself already know how our father is. He wouldn't cancel it. So, you just have to accept it," Arlen said.
"It's easy for you to say that because you're not the one who's stuck with marrying someone you don't know," Weylin said directly.
"Then what do you want? Do you want me to take your place to marry her?" Arlen asked while looking seriously at Weylin.
