Chapter 742

"Hey, once the Crystaland mess is sorted, I'm taking Liberty and getting outta here."

"Got it. I'll handle things on my end. You just focus on your part."

With that, Daryl ended the call.

Early the next morning, Margaret was already in the dining room, waiting for Liberty to wake up.

When Liberty came downstairs, she was surprised to see her mom there so early.

"Mom, what are you doing up so early? You usually sleep in."

Margaret gave a sad smile and patted the chair next to her.

"Liberty, come sit. We need to talk."

Margaret had hoped to wait a bit longer before having this conversation, giving Liberty some time to mentally prepare. But she realized she needed to prepare herself instead. She wasn't sure how Liberty would react, but she knew it was a conversation that couldn't wait any longer.

Liberty, sensing something was off, walked over and sat across from Margaret.

"Mom, what's going on? Why so serious? Did something happen?"

Seeing her daughter's concern, Margaret's eyes welled up with tears. Liberty panicked and quickly grabbed a tissue to wipe them away.

"Mom, what is it? Just tell me. I'll understand, whatever it is."

Hearing the word "understand" made Margaret cry even harder.

"Liberty, the truth about your grandparents has finally come out."

Liberty froze at those words.

"Mom, are you serious? They were innocent, right? I always knew there was more to it!"

Margaret nodded.

"Yes, they were wrongfully accused. Now that the truth is out, Liberty, we need to go back to Rainbowland. It's our home."

Liberty was stunned, unable to believe what she was hearing.

"Mom, are you saying we're moving back to Rainbowland? What about Dad?"

Margaret knew her words would be harsh, but she had to tell Liberty sooner or later.

"Liberty, we can't stay with your dad. I know this hurts, but sometimes things just don't work out. I want you to come back to Rainbowland with me. You can visit your dad whenever you miss him, but you can't stay in Crystaland."

Liberty's tears flowed freely. She had dreaded this moment but knew it was inevitable.

"But Mom, can't you and Dad be together? You love each other so much."

Margaret quickly shook her head.

"Liberty, you've got it wrong. Your dad and I were never in love."

Margaret's words shattered Liberty's heart. She had always believed her parents loved each other.

"Mom, how can you say that? You took such good care of Dad when he was sick, and he loves you. He told me himself."

"Now that the misunderstanding is cleared up, why can't you give Dad a chance?"

Seeing Liberty so emotional pained Margaret. She hugged her daughter tightly.

"Liberty, calm down. Listen to me. You can't force love. I have my own desires and choices."

"I know you love your dad deeply, but please respect my decision."

Liberty wanted to argue but was too overcome with emotion. She knew leaving Raymond would be hard, but she didn't want to make things difficult for Margaret.

"Mom, do you really want to live in Rainbowland? Don't you want to stay in Crystaland?"

Margaret didn't hesitate.

"Yes, Liberty, I want to live in Rainbowland. I gave birth to you there. To me, Rainbowland is our home."

Liberty bit her lip and nodded firmly.

"Alright, Mom. If Rainbowland makes you happy, I'll go with you. But I want to visit Dad whenever I miss him."

Margaret had initially planned to cut ties with Raymond after leaving Crystaland, but seeing how close Liberty and Raymond had become, she couldn't bear to separate them permanently.

"Of course, sweetie. I won't stop you from seeing your dad."

Liberty's pain eased slightly at Margaret's reassurance. She forced a smile.

"Thank you, Mom."

After breakfast, Margaret received a call from Raymond.

"Maggie, the police have arrested Dorian. Do you want to see him?"

Margaret had planned to confront Dorian and release years of pent-up emotions. But she realized that as long as Dorian faced justice, she didn't need to put herself through more pain.

"No, I'll have Wesley meet with the police and make sure they deal with Dorian appropriately. I don't need to see him."

With the truth out and the culprit caught, Margaret didn't want to dwell on the past.

"Alright, I'll have Ryan handle it. The Brown family has fallen. The police will make sure Dorian's life in prison is miserable."

"Okay, I'll take care of it."

Raymond hung up, unaware of Margaret's plans to leave Crystaland.

Margaret then called Luna, asking her to take Liberty out because she wanted to meet Elodie alone. Now that the truth was out, it was time to resolve the misunderstandings and actions Elodie had taken against her.

Margaret dialed Luna's number.
