Chapter 178: Tricky Techniques

After Jaxon dropped Thalia off, Audrey and Thalia held each other and cried. But Jaxon had no time to worry about that.

He had something far more important to handle—saving Daniel.

To outsiders, Daniel was already dead. But that was only what Jaxon wanted them to see.

That knife thrust had looked like it pierced Daniel's heart, but it had actually missed by a hair's breadth.

……

Soon, he arrived at the hospital. Nightshade and the others had been waiting for some time.

"General Storm."

"What's the situation?"

"Your strike was incredibly precise—just one inch from his heart. We didn't dare operate. You'll have to do this."

Hearing this, Jaxon sighed.

"You all still need practice."

With that, he strode directly into the operating room.

Removing the blade from Daniel's chest without causing further injury would be extremely difficult for anyone else.

But Jaxon was completely composed. He took one glance, gripped the knife firmly, and yanked it out in one swift motion.

Blood gushed out, but Jaxon calmly reached for the hemostatic clamp.

The subordinates watching were stunned, eyes wide with disbelief.

They knew Jaxon was formidable, but this was the first time they'd seen him perform surgery.

Not wanting to miss this golden opportunity, none of them dared blink, afraid they'd miss something crucial. Jaxon moved with swift precision.

After stitching up the wound, he administered an adrenaline shot to Daniel.

After waiting more than ten minutes, Daniel's eyes suddenly flew open and he let out a long groan.

"Don't shout. How do you feel?"

"Overall, nothing major. But just now, I really felt like I'd died."

"I told you I wouldn't let you die, and I meant it—you won't have any problems. Rest up here and recover. I'll need your help dealing with some matters soon."

"The Main Storms have already begun making their move, so don't you dare cause me any trouble. Otherwise, I won't hesitate to send you to your grave myself!"

Hearing Jaxon's warning, Daniel didn't dare breathe too loudly and quickly nodded.

Before, he hadn't taken Jaxon seriously. Only now did he realize that Jaxon was far beyond anyone he could afford to offend. His capabilities were beyond anything Daniel had imagined.

Meanwhile, at The Main Storms' estate, Laurent had already summoned the remaining two generals to his presence.

As the sound of a car engine echoed outside, two middle-aged men walked in.

These were the last two senior generals in Frostkeep—Gabriel Fairfax and Michael Fairfax.

The two weren't just brothers; they were both warriors whose strength exceeded Omega level.

Most importantly, when they worked together, their combined power was terrifying.

As a result, the territories they controlled were not only the most extensive in Frostkeep, but also situated in the most prosperous districts.

"Laurent, what's so urgent that you had to call us over?"

"Naturally, it's something extremely important. I wouldn't disturb you both otherwise. Have you been following the situation in Frostkeep lately?"

The two men looked puzzled.

Seeing their expressions, Laurent understood. He pulled out a recording.

"I figured you wouldn't know. But I've obtained some information that might interest you. Recently, someone has emerged—a man named Jaxon Storm. Not only is he acting brazenly, but he's killed Daniel!"

Seeing the files Laurent laid out, both men's faces instantly darkened.

"Jaxon Storm? Is he from your family?"

"I won't hide it from you—he used to be part of the Storm family. But he was just some nobody from a branch family. I kicked him out long ago."

"I have no idea how, but he's returned to Frostkeep and is apparently trying to build up forces to challenge me!"

"If it's your family business, then we shouldn't get involved. If he managed to kill Daniel, that's his capability. We're not interested in interfering, as long as it doesn't affect our interests."

Gabriel and Michael remained composed. After all, anyone who'd risen to the rank of general had some brains.

If they helped Laurent deal with Jaxon, they'd suffer considerable losses.

Their reaction was entirely within Laurent's expectations.

Watching their expressions, Laurent spoke again.

"I understand your position. But what if I told you he didn't just kill Daniel—he's killed others too?"

At this, both men looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

"From what I've learned, with his help, Audrey has already swallowed up quite a bit of territory. Albert, Wesley, and others have all been subdued by him."

"And now that he's dealt with Daniel, all of Daniel's territory has become unclaimed. He's currently in the process of taking over Daniel's forces."

"Once he's absorbed Daniel's power, I guarantee that given his greed, he'll absolutely come after you next. By then, I'm afraid you two won't be able to stay out of it."

Gabriel and Michael exchanged glances and snorted coldly.

"Everyone in Frostkeep knows our strength. Even if the other generals combined forces, they'd only match us at best. If he thinks he can swallow our territory, he doesn't have what it takes!"

Then, suddenly, they shifted tone.

"But we won't allow some nobody like Jaxon to break Frostkeep's decades-old rules."

Hearing this, Laurent smiled slightly.

"You both have Frostkeep's best interests at heart. I knew you wouldn't just stand by!"

Though he said this, Laurent understood their true intentions perfectly. Simply put, they had their eyes on Daniel's unclaimed territory.

After all, among all the generals, no one could match Daniel's power or the amount of territory he controlled.

Only the two of them combined had a chance of surpassing Daniel.

"Laurent, spare us the flattery. We all know what we're after. Besides, since Daniel's dead, his territory is up for grabs—anyone can take it."

"We've guarded Frostkeep for so many years. We can't let some outsider reap the benefits."

"You're absolutely right. Then I'll leave this information with you. I wish you both success."

Laurent smiled. Gabriel and Michael exchanged knowing looks, accepted the documents without protest, and took them.

"But Laurent, let's be clear—his territory can only go to us. Don't get involved, or else..."

"You both can rest assured. I've never been interested in these power struggles between generals."

Hearing Laurent's guarantee, the two didn't waste more words and turned to leave.

After they'd gone, Laurent finally revealed a satisfied smile.

"Don't disappoint me now. I'm counting on you two!"

"Mr. Storm, can those two really pull it off?"
