Chapter 246
Amelia stepped closer, her eyes locked on William. "So, William, doesn't my analysis make sense?"
Heavy breathing filled the space between them. William's chest rose and fell, his ears turning red. Apart from the gentle breeze, there was no other sound.
He didn't respond right away, and Amelia didn't push him. She just watched him, waiting.
Suddenly, William stepped forward and reached out to touch her face. He cupped her chin and pulled her close. Just as Amelia was about to ask what he was doing, William leaned in and kissed her.
Unlike the wild, chaotic kiss from before, this one was tender. She could feel the gentle pressure of his lips against hers.
Amelia saw William's eyes close, his long lashes brushing against his cheeks, and noticed the straight line of his nose.
In that moment, they were like any other intimate couple, maybe even closer.
The kiss lasted a long time, until Amelia's lips started to feel numb. She pulled back, her eyelashes fluttering, unable to focus. William's hand lingered on her face, stroking gently before letting go.
He chuckled softly, holding her wrist. "See? You don't feel anything special. Your heart isn't racing."
"But mine is," he continued, "and I find kissing incredibly addictive. I really like it and want to keep doing it with you."
William's expression turned strange, clearly shocked by Amelia's words.
"So you just like kissing. It could be anyone..."
"Anyone but you, I'd tell them to get lost. Think about it. Only you."
Amelia placed her hand on William's chest, her fingers tapping lightly. "Admit it. I like you, and you like me too. Let's date, William."
William sighed, his frustration evident.
Seeing his hesitation, Amelia's face hardened. "What? You don't want to? Why not? You should listen to me. We should see each other every day, kiss every day. Eventually, even if you don't like me much now, you'll grow to like me."
Amelia spoke about kissing and dating as casually as discussing groceries, without any of the shyness one might expect.
William tried to resist. "Don't think like that."
"We've already slept together, haven't we? Shouldn't you take responsibility?" Amelia started counting on her fingers. "We've kissed, had sex, and talked sweetly on the phone every day. Those are things couples or even married people do. And you clearly have feelings for me. Why not?"
She touched William's sensitive earlobe, making it even redder.
Just as William was figuring out how to respond, the door opened again.
"Amy, Grandma said you came here, so I..."
Lilly stopped mid-sentence, her eyes wide with shock.
Behind Lilly was Stella, who was eating something. She froze, staring at them, finger pointed. "You two..."
Amelia and William looked down at themselves. Amelia was practically in William's lap, very close, almost like they were kissing.
William's leg twitched as he tried to move Amelia off, but then remembered his condition and stopped.
Amelia quietly stepped back, releasing her hold on him.
"So what? We're dating and being affectionate. What's so shocking? You'd think we were doing something wrong."
Amelia sniffed, looking at them without any guilt, even rolling her eyes.
Stella was speechless. Sure, maybe she hadn't seen everything, but seeing Amelia like this felt bizarre.
Soon, Stella and Lilly shared what they'd seen with Evelyn, Jonah, and others, describing it vividly.
Jonah nearly choked on his water. "What did you say? Are you sure you saw that right?"
Amelia, overhearing, was exasperated.
Even Evelyn pulled Amelia aside, looking at her with a mix of confusion and curiosity. "So, you and William, how far have you gone?"
"Why? Are you interested in our love life? If you are, maybe you should find someone yourself while you're still young."
Evelyn sighed.
"You're still young, in school. Dating is fine, but be careful. This isn't the time to get pregnant."
Amelia sipped her drink, finding it overly sweet. "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
Evelyn grunted, knowing she couldn't control Amelia's actions, and decided to drop it.
"But I never thought you'd actually date someone. And you seem to really like him. It's surprising."
