Chapter 247

Amelia took a sip of water, looking puzzled. "I mean, everyone has one nose and two eyes, right? Dating is just holding hands, hugging, kissing. What's the big deal?"

Evelyn rubbed her chin, thinking hard, but couldn't quite figure out what felt off. Just then, someone rushed over to tell her Aaron had woken up. She stopped thinking and hurried to check on him.

Aaron's face was pale, lost in thought.

Katya was beside him, taking care of him attentively. She could tell what he needed with just a glance or a small gesture.

Evelyn sighed and walked over to the siblings, sitting down beside them. "About your memory…"

She spoke in a clear way without being too direct.

Aaron's eyes moved slightly, but he stayed silent.

To strangers, he might seem mute or confused.

Seeing his silence, Katya awkwardly explained to Evelyn, "Aaron's memories have all come back, but he's been really emotional and hasn't talked much."

Aaron's mouth moved a bit, but he still didn't speak.

"Aaron, we've known each other for a long time. I need to be straight with you. You always resented Arian for treating Amy better than you. But deep down, you know Arian loved you, too. His death is partly connected to you, but he's gone now. If he could see you, he wouldn't blame you. Watching you suffer every day would make him suffer too. There's no need for that. As harsh as it sounds, the truth is, only by being happy and living well can you honor his memory."

Aaron's eyes shifted again. He clenched his jaw and turned away, hiding the tears in his eyes.

"I've said my piece. Think about it. You're still young and have a whole life ahead of you. You can't just stay in your room every day. That's not living."

Evelyn said everything she needed to and left, thoughtfully closing the door behind her.

The next day.

Amelia stood in front of William again, looking down at him in his wheelchair. "Have you made up your mind?"

William didn't respond but looked up, his eyes filled with confusion.

"About dating me. You didn't give me an answer yesterday because we were interrupted. Today, you have to."

Amelia leaned in closer to William. "If you don't speak, I'll take that as a yes."

William, planning to stay silent and pretend to consider, felt helpless.

Amelia saw through him, grabbing his chin. "Mr. Brown, what's your deal? Are you really planning to stay silent and not give a clear answer? If you won't decide, I will. Starting today, we're dating. You have to kiss me every day and call me."

She leaned down and kissed William's thin lips again, biting them just like last time, causing them to swell.

With his lips looking like that, no one would believe they weren't dating.

At lunch, William's swollen lips were glaringly obvious. He remained calm, as did Amelia, showing no embarrassment.

Jonah and the others couldn't help but exchange glances and scroll through their phones, itching to discuss it.

"Did I see that right? Mr. Brown's lip marks must be from Amelia. Their relationship is intense."

"I always thought Mr. Brown was untouchable, too refined for romance. But even the strongest have emotions. A few years ago, if someone told me Mr. Brown would get his lips swollen from a kiss, I wouldn't believe it."

"If it were anyone else, I'd still be skeptical. But with Amelia, it seems possible."

Stella typed away, her eyes sparkling. "Don't you think Amelia is amazing? She's the most impressive person I've ever met."

The meal turned into a gossip session, with hardly anyone eating.

Amelia noticed their odd behavior but didn't mind. She packed up and helped William into the car.

William had spent a lot of time with Robert lately, and his work at Wisdom Summer Group was piling up, needing his decisions. It was time to go back.

Not just him, several people were preparing to leave, deciding whether to go tomorrow or stay a few more days.

"Grandma had to go out earlier. She asked me to apologize and remind you to stay safe."

Amelia pushed the wheelchair to the black car. They didn't rush to lift William in, instead staying quietly together.

Amelia couldn't help but focus on William's swollen lips, bending down to kiss them again, this time gently.

As their lips touched, she quickly pulled back, lightly teasing his lips with her fingers. "From now on, only I get to kiss you here. Remember to video call me every day and give me a goodnight kiss."
