Chapter 83: Rescuing People from the Psychiatric Hospital

Cruz shook his head. "This world has gone mad, and so has Ethan."

Back in their bedroom, Alexander called his assistant back home and activated the trackers on Daniel and Aria. He personally operated the system and discovered their location—surprisingly, in a hospital.

"I know that place," Sienna said. "It's owned by the Smith family. I'll go with you!"

Alexander shook his head firmly. "You need to stay home with the children. I'm worried they might target them next. Your mission is just as important."

Sienna wrapped her arms around Alexander's waist, a rare gesture of physical affection from her. "Alexander, Grandpa and Grandma will be okay, won't they?"

Alexander gently stroked the top of her head, then tucked her into bed. "Get some sleep. Trust me, I'll bring them back soon."

Sienna nodded, watching helplessly as Alexander left, her mind in turmoil.

She couldn't believe Harold would betray the Smith family. Harold, of all people—her friend for five years, someone she had come to view as family. Yet he had betrayed them all.

After a restless two hours of sleep, Sienna couldn't bear to stay in bed. She went to the children's room and crawled in beside Olivia.

Henry, getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, discovered Sienna in the children's room and climbed into bed, nestling in her arms.

Only William slept sprawled out alone until dawn, his pajama top riding up to expose his belly.

When morning came, William found Sienna cuddling with Henry and Olivia, while he had been left out. His face crumpled in disappointment.

"Mom's playing favorites! You didn't invite me!" he accused, hands on his hips.

Sienna woke to see William standing by the bed with an indignant expression that she found utterly adorable. She beckoned to him. "Come up here. Let's all sleep a little longer."

William suddenly clutched his lower body. "Mommy, let me use the bathroom first!" he exclaimed, running barefoot toward the toilet.

His antics made Sienna laugh. When he returned, he imperiously pushed Henry aside, wrapped his arms around Olivia, and positioned himself so Sienna could hold him. Only then did he contentedly close his eyes.

Having worried all night, Sienna grew even more concerned when Alexander hadn't returned by morning.

Amara noticed her distraction. "Sienna, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Sienna shook her head, her eyes rimmed with red. "Mom, something's happened to Alexander's grandparents. I'm really worried."

Amara frowned, glancing at Ethan and Gage sitting across from them. Gage quickly spoke up, "Darling, it's not what you think. There's been an incident—the Knight elders were kidnapped and taken somewhere. Alexander has gone to find them..."

"Where exactly?" Amara demanded.

Gage looked nervously at Ethan, who cleared his throat before answering. "At Serenity Haven."

Amara's expression hardened. "That's a psychiatric facility. How could you let Alexander go there alone? Get the car ready—I'm going immediately."

Sienna stood up too, alarmed at the mention of a psychiatric hospital.

Gage tried to intervene, but Ethan held him back. "Dad, let them go. Mother will be furious otherwise."

Angering Amara was something even Gage dreaded, so he hurriedly followed them.

Serenity Haven was Amara's property, registered in her name. Its unique location, formerly a monastery, had been converted by Amara into a sanatorium for mental patients. The public referred to it as a psychiatric hospital, which explained why Harold had chosen it—no one would think to look for Daniel and Aria there.

When Alexander arrived, the gates were locked tight. He brought security personnel and forced his way in, but despite the tracking signal, they couldn't locate Daniel and Aria.

"Mr. Alexander Knight, we can't find Mr. Daniel Knight and Mrs. Aria Knight. What should we do now?" his security chief asked.

"Turn this place upside down if you have to. Find them!" Alexander ordered.

The security team continued searching, and soon after, Amara's group arrived.

The facility director rushed out to greet her. "Mrs. Smith, thank goodness you're here. A group of people barged in claiming they're looking for someone, but we don't have anyone matching their description!"

Amara fixed her gaze on the director. "Are you certain the people they're looking for aren't here? Noah, you know my temperament—I despise deception above all else."

Noah awkwardly adjusted his glasses, finally admitting, "Harold arranged for two elderly patients to be admitted a few days ago. They're currently in the basement level..."

Furious, Amara led everyone to the basement, encountering Alexander on the way.

"Mrs. Smith? Sienna? What are you doing here?" Alexander instinctively put his arm around Sienna's waist, frowning at her pallor.

"Alexander, have you found your grandparents?" Sienna asked anxiously.

"Not yet. The tracker shows they're here, but they're not in any of the rooms we've checked."

Amara turned to Alexander. "They're in the sub-basement. It's much deeper than standard basements, which explains the imprecise tracking."

She led them deeper into the facility, directly to the sub-basement. The area was dark and damp, and Amara's frown deepened as they entered. She was outraged that Harold would use the Smith family's psychiatric facility to imprison two elderly people.

Amara searched room by room until finally discovering the right one. There lay the two elderly people on hospital beds.

"Noah, explain this," she demanded.

Noah avoided her gaze. "When Harold brought them in, he'd administered excessive sedatives. There are some side effects..."

Amara was livid. She immediately ordered her security team to transport them to the Smith Villa.

Sienna accompanied them to assist with treatment. Being most familiar with Daniel and Aria's medical history, she conducted examinations and discussed treatment options with Amara.

Meanwhile, Alexander went to confront Harold, refusing to allow any Smith family members to accompany him.

Harold was bound to a cross-shaped restraint. His wounds had been treated, but he'd received no food or water, leaving him visibly weakened.

Alexander sat across from him, lighting a cigarette. "Harold. Appeared at the Smith Villa at age three. Became the butler's adopted son. At fifteen, your biological parents found you, and you discovered that the Smith family was your enemy. Your real surname is Lawson. Twenty years ago, both the Lawson and Smith families were powerful, but the Lawsons were wiped out. You're the only survivor."

Harold glared at Alexander with murderous hatred.

"When you discovered Sienna's identity as the Smith family's lost child, you must have felt vindictive satisfaction. How ironic that a Smith child would suffer such misery. That's why you were so cruel to her. I've uncovered everything—how you deliberately made things difficult, ensuring she had no money for her child's surgery, forcing her to work until she collapsed in that restaurant."
