Chapter 27: Twenty Seven

VICTOR'S POV

"What do you mean you do not know anything about her whereabouts?" I shouted at the maids who looked more confused than I was.

Everything I heard that moment annoyed me, I felt like I was going to scatter everywhere out of anger.

What do you mean you do not know where she is?

Her drivers were all here doing nothing except watching the other cars.

"Where was the last place you drove her to?" I pointed at them randomly.

"She hasn't let anyone drive her around for some days until she vanished."

Vanished?

That was the most silliest word he could use.

I scoffed and thought of what to do.

I drove back to Sophia's house, she wasn't anywhere available.

"Ohh, has she vanished too?"

They all looked confused. I didn't wait for an answer, I left immediately and focused on trying to get Elara to pick her calls.

There was no response.

Just the little time I got to hear from Elara, she left a voicemail. I tried sending mine and that's where the phone fuck that up for me.

All my points prove to Sophia was useless, she saw me as a weak tool that she could use to get whatever she wants. Every word I said there was out of anger, I mean no one is meaning to betray anyone because all these would be revealed if we are being careless.

"I don't think she fucking understand what she is saying. How does she not care about Elara missing?" I shook my head in frustration, disbelief, and shock.

All the rants and arguments got us to a final agreement that we are going to work together. I had to do a little threatening so she could function, I feel she thinks I can't switch up on her anytime.

I don't care about that, all I want is her to act appropriately.

Days passed and I kept trying to reach Elara, but my messages were never replied. My calls were never returned, at this point I thought that she must have found Liam and now they are somewhere fucking each other.

"Gosh why would I be thinking of such when she will literally light him up if she got the chance to see him." I scoffed.

I made my way into the mall to pick a few things for myself.

"This?" The attendant brought out numerous things for me to choose from.

"I am not getting those, I just need this .." I brought out the sausage.

I just needed something tonight, at least I could eat while thinking of how to find Elara.

"So you don't want to try this?" He tried hard to advertise these things like they aren't displayed already.

"I do not need that, I have gotten what I need." I smirked and got my item from the accountant immediately after making the payment.

Looks like he was so into advertising his goods.

"Thank you sir for your patronage." The guy at the counter said to me as I walked away.

There was no idea where I was going next but I just had to get myself out. If I had to go back to that house then it should be when I have forgotten about all the fights we have.

"Watch out!!!" I was able to control my steering to avoid the car that lost control.

"Oh my gosh...." The driver must have fallen asleep and lost control.

Just as expected the car drove into a shop and scattered everything in there.

"Jesus Christ..." People gathered around to help put out the fire.

"What in the hell would make someone sleep while driving?" My jaw dropped when I saw this scene.

I parked to see clearly, I don't find any reason why I should be here though.

I drove away.

"Wait!!" I stopped the car and reversed to be sure that my eyes weren't deceiving me.

"Elara?" I whine down immediately.

When I had confirmed that she was the one, I immediately jumped out of the car.

"Elara..." I shouted her name from a distance while running towards her.

I didn't look back until I got to her.

"Elara, where have you been?" I held her hands tight.

Elara had the look of confusion on her face but I didn't mind. I was just happy to see her that I didn't think of what she was doing here?

"Hold up! What is going on? What are you doing here?" I pointed at the huge billboard behind us that was boldly written...ORPHANS HOME

"Nothing, I just came to check on some things." She answered and walked away.

Why is she so changed?

I was scared and hoped that she didn't learn the truth.

"What thing?" I had my ears up listening to whatever she was going to say.

"Victor, I just had a couple of ideas on my mind and I thought of carrying it out." She sighed.

"Are you hiding things from me?" I asked with a stern look.

"No, I just needed to be away for some reasons." Her eyes said a different thing.

I did not want to stress the matter while we were on the road, I accepted everything that she said without an argument.

"So....?" I shrugged, Hoping she would get what I am trying to say.

"I'm going home." She twitched her lips.

"Home? What home are we talking about because your maids...."

She cuts in before I could finish the sentence.

"I don't stay there anymore, I Know, and that is for security purposes." She cuts in.

"Why Don't we get into the car and drive down to the new apartment?" She walked away.

"Ohhh....after you." I let her go forward before pulling my phone out.

I sent a message to Sophia. If only she will stop being crazy and get to check the phone when the message pops up.

We drove silently to her house. I had so much to ask Elara but she seemed rather unconcerned and a bit annoyed.

I just had to play along to escape being caught.
